The footage of the dramatic attack shows one of the women throw a grenade and the other opened fire with a machine gun as the riot police bus drove towards the station entrance in he Bayrampasa district of Turkey’s biggest city.

The police returned fire however the women fled the scene and were trapped in an apartment building. Special forces units were sent to the area and residents were evacuated as security forces prepared to carry out an operation.

In an update, local media reported that both women were killed. The Instanbul Governor Vasip Sahin told reporters that investigation to determine the identity of the two women and organization they belong to is ongoing. He said two police officers were wounded during the operation but they are in a stable condition.

Attacks on the security forces have increased as violence flares in the country’s predominantly Kurdish southeast, where a ceasefire between Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants and the state collapsed last July.

FG to split NNPC

By     No comments:
• NNPC Headquarters... accounts shielded by constitution

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has said that the NNPC is to be unbundled into 30 profit-making companies with separate Managing Directors in the weeks ahead as part of the ongoing transformation of the national oil company.
Dr. Kachikwu made this disclosure at the 25th Oloibiri Lecture Series and Energy Forum in Abuja with the theme: “Technological Advances in Hydrocarbon Exploration and Exploitation: Solutions to Global Oil Price Stability”.
The Minister stated that the NNPC has been moved from a loss position of N160 billion to some N3 billion by January 2016, adding that by year end the Corporation should start making some profit.
“For the first time, we are unbundling the subset of the NNPC to 30 independent companies with their own Managing Directors. Titles like Group Executive Directors are going to disappear and in their place you are going to have Chief Executive Officers and they are going to take responsibilities for their titles. At the end of the day, the CEO of an upstream company must deliver an upstream result,” Dr. Kachikwu stated.
He also informed that as part of measures to stabilize crude oil prices, some members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) are scheduled to meet with Russia on 20th March, 2016, in Moscow to fine tune collaborative strategies.
The Minister noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is focusing on developing the nation’s gas resources in order to boost revenue as part of the diversification policy of the Federal Government.
Dr. Kachikwu said the petroleum sector, under his watch, would rapidly review the contracting cycle of projects from two years to six months in the upstream, stressing that efforts are in top gear to review the existing Production Sharing Contracts which is long overdue.
The Minister applauded the National Assembly on their efforts on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) which he said would go a long way to promote efficiency in the governance structure of the industry.
He noted that for the Nigerian oil and gas industry to make remarkable progress, there is need for all the stakeholders in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors to be on the same page on cost control, contracting circle, technology and environmental issues.
He called on stakeholders to adopt integrated approach towards resolving some of the challenges of the industry in Nigeria.
In his welcome remarks, the Chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Engr. George Kalu, said the Oloibiri Lecture Series and Energy Forum of this year coincides with 60 years of oil exploration and production in Nigeria, adding that the low price of crude oil affords Nigeria the opportunity to reduce cost through industry collaboration.

Some Chibok Girls Have Started Having Babies – Rescued Boko Haram Captive Reveals

By     No comments:
Chibok-Girls

A rescued girl has recounted her encounter with some of the abducted Chibok school girls in the north-eastern part of the country.
Some of the girls and women recently rescued by troops on Tuesday said the Chibok schoolgirls who were kidnapped about two years ago by insurgents are still alive, according to the Leadership.
Specifically, one of them simply identified as Zara, said she and other abducted girls came across some of the girls at a village called Njimiya when they were escaping from insurgents during a military onslaught.
‘‘When we got to Njimiya, we saw some girls fetching water. We spoke Kanuri to them. One of them later said in Hausa that they can’t speak Kanuri because they are from Chibok.’’
Zara, who is 5-month pregnant for a sect member, said some of the schoolgirls were kept under a tarpaulin erected in thick foliage.
The girls said some of the girls seemed ‘married’ because they were pregnant.
“One of the Chibok girls who now called herself Hauwa, because Boko Haram had given most of them new Islamic names, had recently delivered a baby. Some of the girls were looking traumatized while some looked okay and not worried about their conditions,’’ Zara said.

3 Security Men Brutally R.ape 16-Yr-Old Girl Till Day Break

By     No comments:
SECURITY-MEN-NL

Two night security men, Ugo Onuora and Bright Anaenyewu, have been arrested after the abducted a 16-year-old girl gang-raped her throughout the night, while the suspect is currently on the run.
The victim is said to be currently in the hospital after undergoing the harrowing experience in the hand of the evil men who, apart from taking away her virginity in the most cruel way, inflicted serious injuries on her.
It was gathered that Onuora and Anaenyewu kidnapped the girl on February 20, 2016, at Tedi town in Ojo area of Lagos State, where they were employed as night guards, took her to an uncompleted building where they took turns to defile her till the break of dawn.
It was learnt that girl was returning to her parents home at about 9pm that night on a commercial motorcycle, when the suspects who had resumed work for the day, flagged down the motorcycle, discharged the rider and ordered the victim to follow them to where they had their office.
On getting there, it turned out to be an uncompleted building where they forced the girl to pull off her clothes while threatening that they would kill her if she screamed. The terrified girl was said to have cooperated with the men who went ahead to rape her in turn.
In the morning, after the gruesome ordeal, they suspects released the girl who was found by her parents and neighbours who had spent the whole night searching for her and when asked where she was, she narrated her ordeal to her family with blood still streaming from her private part.
The matter was reported to the police who took her to a hospital and went after the suspects and arrested two of them and charged to court.
They were arraigned before the Ojo Magistrates’ Court charged with conspiracy and unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.
When the charges were read to them, the suspects pleaded not guilty and the presiding Magistrate, Mr A. A. Paul, granted them bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Paul, however, ordered that they be remanded in prison custody at the Kirikiri Minimum Prison pending when they will perfect their bail while the case was adjourned till April 26, 2016.

Another Missing Teenager Traced To Sultan of Sokoto’s Palace, Families Allege

By     No comments:

Another 14-year-old girl, Patience Paul is reportedly missing in Sokoto State.
Patience, a primary six pupil of Mohammed Zako Model Primary School, Sokoto, was said to be housed at the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto, her relatives alleged.
Father of the girl, Mr. Paul Adaji, an indigene of Ochobo in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State, told newsmen that his daughter had been missing since August 12, 2015.
According to Adaji, who resides in Sokoto with his family, some persons spotted his daughter at the Sultan’s palace.
“We got information that she was in the Sultan’s palace and the last time we went there, we did not find her,” he told Vanguard.
Asked how they knew she was at the palace, he said: “Some people told us that they saw her at the palace. They also used to camp some of them there, that was why we went to the palace to see if she has been taken there.
“Even her friend, who used to be a Christian, was found there. She was taken there and they converted her.
“We will still continue to search for her. We will not give up; we only want the world to help us so that our daughter can be released to us.”
Corroborating Mr. Adaji’s story, his son, Paul Isaac Adaji, gave an account of circumstances that led to the disappearance of his sister.
“Patience is my younger sister. We are based in Sokoto. That is where the issue occurred. My dad is in Sokoto but we lost our mother two years ago. My younger sister was brain-washed from school, Mohammed Zako Model Primary school, Sokoto. She is a primary six pupil.
“The fact is that sometime last year, we noticed she started keeping some funny friends and her attitude started changing. This is a girl that normally likes attending church activities.
“We cautioned her but along the line, she changed. Then again, she started misbehaving. So at that point, my parent and I decided to move her out of Sokoto and return her to Benue State so the rumours of children converting does not happen to us as we do not have anybody to fight for us.
“Unfortunately, what we were scared of later happened to us. Sometimes we will see her returning from school with a veil covering her head. When we inquired, she said it was given to her by her friend in school.
“We cautioned her on several occasions. But we later arranged with my dad to get her back to Benue. Unfortunately, she got to know about our plan to send her back to Benue and obviously informed the people who were brainwashing her and they eventually abducted her.
“When we could not see her, we started serious investigation and along the line, discovered that it was one of our neighbours who actually abducted her.
“We reported the matter to the police. The masterminds of her abduction were invited by the Police. They made their confessions that the girl wanted to join their religion, which was why they abducted her. They said they took her to the Hisbah (Islamic Police).
“At that point, the Police invited the Hisbah and they came and gave their own statement. They said they had taken the girl to the Sultan’s palace. I was hoping that since the police had stepped in, my sister would come home.
“But that did not happen. I reported the matter at the Police Headquarters in Sokoto, but it was transferred to our Area Division. So after the interrogations, the Police said since I reported the matter at the headquarters, their findings will also be communicated to the headquarters.
“Two weeks later, I went to the police headquarters here in Sokoto only for the police to tell us that we should just go and maintain peace. I became inquisitive and wanted to know what the police found that prompted that advice. Bishop Kukah steps in.
“It was at that point that I reported the matter to Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah. He was very angry with us, saying we ought to have reported the matter to him earlier.
“He made some calls and promised to step into the matter. I became restless and worried because the Bishop is a very busy person. We are urging and pleading with all well-meaning Nigerians to help us intervene.
“From what we gathered, from last year up to early this year, she was in the Sultan’s palace, but she has been taken away from there since last month.
“We went there with my other sister to check and they brought a different person to us. From our investigations, she is not the only one because the two girls they brought did not look like real Muslims,” he said.

Diezani

The ad-hoc committee of the House of Representatives investigating the alleged crude oil swap contracts has vowed to take “appropriate actions” against Diezani Alison-Madueke, former minister of petroleum resources, for failing to honour its invitation.
The Committee also lamented the absence of Haruna Momoh, a former managing director of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC).
While Momoh, who claimed to be ill, sent his younger brother to represent him, no one stood in for Alison-Madueke. Zakari Mohammed, chairman of the committee, described their absence as an affront.
“It is unfortunate that they turned down our invitation. Anyone who knows them should tell them they are daring the parliament. We have taken note and we are going to take appropriate action”, he said.

14 year old abducted Ese Oruru allegedly 5 months pregnant

By     No comments:

Ese Rita Oruru, the 14 year old girl from Bayelsa state who was abducted by Yinusa Dahiru, alias Yellow may be about 5 months pregnant, according to Vanguard.

The white Hijab she wore when she arrived on Tuesday, was used to disguise the alleged pregnancy. Her pregnant condition was what made the IGP, Solomon Arase to give instructions to fly her to by air after she was rescued, rather than by road.

This was after she had been handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit where a team from the Medical Department of the Force carried out a comprehensive medical examination of her at the Police Medical Facility in Area 1, Garki and confirmed her pregnancy.

Meanwhile, the IGP has directed the Bayelsa State Police Command to take over investigation in the child violence offense saga because the offense was committed in Bayelsa which is the place of residence of the abductor, Yunusa Dahiru.

Consequently, Vanguard was told that Yunusa will be moved to Yenegoa to face interrogation and prosecution for kidnapping and child abuse as well as violence against a girl-child.
