Efe appointed Ambassador of State for Entertainment by Plateau State Govt

It has really been a grass to grace story for Big Brother Naija winner, Efe, as the Plateau State Government just appointed him as the State's Ambassador of State for Entertainment and Creative Industry.

This came in detailed press statement on behalf of the Governor of the State, Simon Lalong, by his Director of Press, who confirmed they will be receiving Efe, once he arrives Nigeria from South Africa.

PRESS STATEMENT

The Executive Governor of Plateau Sate, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has congratulated Mr Michael Ejegba popularly known as ‘Efe’ on his emergence as the Winner of the Big Brother Naija (BBN) TV Reality Show.According to the Governor, the victory of Efe is a further prove of the brotherhood, excellence, courage and determination that characterises the Plateau Spirit. It will be recalled that the Executive Governor had on Friday the 7th April, 2017 called on all Plateau Citizens to stand in solidarity with Efe by voting and mobilizing others to vote for the home grown Actor, who was at the verge of joining the team of successful Plateau Citizens who have won the TV Reality event in the past.

The Executive Governor is also using the opportunity of the Victory of Efe to call on all citizens of Plateau State, to ensure that the value they place on the common humanity of her citizens in a multi cultural and cosmopolitan setting, is always seen in the unity of purpose exhibited by all in the collective pursuit of a common goal. The Governor added that though Efe is by ethnic extraction from Delta State, Plateau is proud to lay claim to his entire life’s orientation having been groomed for excellence in life with the values that distinguish the Plateau person.

The Executive Governor in his commendation assured the people of Plateau and Delta States, that the success of Efe will provide the additional platform for the consolidation of the relationship between the people of the two States, which had existed right from the early Tin Mining days of the twentieth century.

The Governor has further confirmed that he will be receiving Efe as the newest Ambassador of the State in the entertainment and creative industry on his arrival from South Africa soon.

Reality TV star Clay Adler, who starred on two seasons of MTV’s Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County, is dead after intentionally shooting himself during a trip to the desert with friends.

Sources tell TMZ that Clay and his friends were shooting guns in the desert on March 25 before he turned the gun on himself and was shot in the face via a self inflicted wound. He passed away the next day at the hospital.
Clay reportedly struggled with mental illness, and there was no signs of drugs or alcohol.

Clay did some acting and he became friendly with Jennifer Lawrence – when they were both starting out in Hollywood.   May his soul rest in peace.

The Muslim Rights Concern in Ekiti State has condemned the proposed act by Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose’s to demolish some mosques in the state, describing it as an act of aggression.

Four mosques were last week marked for demolition by the Ekiti State government.

However the government gave reasons for the proposed demolition saying, Muslims could contact cancer from the radioactive emission from petrol stations where the mosques are located.

However, in a statement made available to our correspondent on Friday by MURIC Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the attempt to demolish the mosques is an act of aggression against peace-loving and law-abiding Muslims of the state.

“It is primitive, provocative and sadistic. It is an undisguised invitation to anarchy. The state government’s excuse of exposure to cancer is lame, infantile, laughable and untenable. What of hundreds of petrol attendants who have been serving in petrol stations in Ekiti State since its inception on October 1, 1996?

“How many of them have had cases of cancer? How many petrol attendants in the whole of Nigeria have been exposed to radioactive emissions? Can the claim be certified by the World Health Organisation? Fayose’s public health adviser must be from hell,” the statement said.

Akintola stated that Fayose’s radioactive emission claim was a “mere cloak for political vendetta”.

He said, “It has since been revealed that all the four petrol stations involved belong to Alhaji Suleman Akinbami, a chieftain of the opposition party. Fayose has probably forgotten that the end-users of those mosques are Muslims of Ekiti State and the petrol dealer hardly uses them..

“This is where Fayose misfired. He is targeting Muslims in Ekiti State by attempting to demolish those mosques but he has forgotten that anyone who attacks a mosque anywhere in Nigeria has courted the wrath of Nigerian Muslims. Ekiti State governor is waging war against Islam. Fayose has murdered sleep and he shall sleep no more.”

The Muslim scholar also accused Fayose of not liking Islam. He claimed that the governor formed an all-Christian government after assumption of office in 2015.

Akintola said, “Muslims may be left with no option than to make Ekiti ungovernable for Fayose if he goes ahead to demolish those mosques. Freedom of worship is enshrined in Nigeria’s constitution and civil disobedience is the inalienable right of a persecuted people. We will resist this oppression if the system will do nothing about it.”

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has asked former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi (rtd) to disclose killers of MKO Abiola, Shehu Musa Yar’adua and stop embarrassing former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Fani-Kayode conveyed this via his twitter account.

He wrote: “Instead of attempting to rubbish OBJ, Bamaiyi should tell us who killed MKO Abiola, Sani Abacha, Rear Admiral Omotehinwa and Shehu Yar’adua?

It will be recalled that Bamaiyi, in his new book, “Vindication of a General” had disclosed that Obasanjo kept him imprisoned for eight years not because he opposed his emergence as civilian President in 1999 but for fear of been overthrown.

He further wrote that the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, MKO Abiola did not die of natural courses while in detention.

In his book, Bamayi, who was the the Army Chief during the government of former Military Head of State, Gen Sani Abacha challenged former Head of State, Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar(rtd), to tell Nigerians what killed Abiola.
