CAF fines Etoile N1m,Suspends Coach For Misconduct During Match With Enyimba

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fined Tunisian football heavyweights Etoile Du Sahel $5000 (about N1m) for their bad sporting behaviour against Enyimba in the CAF Champions League.

The Coach of Etoile, Faouzi Benzarti and player, Ahmed Akaichi were also suspended for four-matches for using offensive language and hurling insults towards the referee in the first leg in Port Harcourt against Enyimba.

This punishment  was announced in a statement by Africa's football ruling body, CAF, yesterday after it's disciplinary committee handed out punishments to players, coaches and federations who erred in the various CAF competitions in the last three months.

Minister of labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, says the Federal government is carefully studying and considering the N56,000 minimum wage t that was proposed by the Nigeria Labour Congress last month. Ngige said this while receiving the executive members of the Organisation of Trade Unions of West Africa (OTUWA) in Abuja yesterday May 9th.

“The other day, labour requested increased wages for workers and they have only done what they are supposed to do. Therefore, nobody will quarrel with them. At the appropriate time, we shall all sit down because what the labour is asking is for the re-negotiation of an existing Collective Bargain Agreement (CBA). And every CBA-based agreement is subject to re-negotiation at any given time that any of the partners requests it. It is wrong for people to think that whenever the labour makes such a demand, the nation is boiling. The labour in Nigeria has for the first time met a labour-friendly government under President Muhammadu Buhari. The government has put machinery in motion as we speak because I have got a letter as the Minister of Labour and Employment for my advice. We shall advise the government the way such a tripartite negotiation will be handled so that everybody will be satisfied without any industrial unrest. Government in this sense includes also the state and local governments whom such wages will be binding on. When government takes a decision, we will now move to another stage in the process of re-negotiating the CBA. We are in an era where due process supersedes every other” he said

“If you are my boyfriend and you cannot stand by me in times of little trouble, what would happen when something big comes? What if it was published later in my career that I was caught in bed with a man and the story turned out to be false eventually? It means he would leave me and my kids when I get married to him. I should not marry someone like that. I have been tagged a controversial actress and you have to stand by me and if you cannot, then you have to go.”

The actress, now single, is hoping to get somebody better, who would be ready to trust her in similar situations, given the kind of profession she chose.

“God is going to give me that person that would bear everything with me. I am single. I just want a cool and responsible guy. Someone that is not loud and must be God fearing,” she said.

Powerful Nigerian singer, Omawumi has finally opened up on her controversial interview on “Da Chat” with Zinnia, a show produced by HF TV.

The “If You Ask Me” star has revealed that she has forgiven Zinnia for basically putting her morality to question after she called Omawumi a smoker.

Omawumi shocked everyone when she immediately stormed out of the interview set after being asked about the effect of her smoking in public, knowing that she is a role model to many.

The singer who had been visibly upset, had asked the interviewer for proof that she smoked, of which Zinnia could not produce any.

Omawumi has now revealed that although she is upset, she has decided to let the incident go, as she just wants to have fun rather than attend rehearsals.

She made the revelation via her Instagram page, where she shared a video of the cartoon, ‘Frozen’, with the caption:

“Arms open wide like my daughter singing loudly ‘Let it go’ Mood. I’m supposed to rehearse today but I’m thinking of doing something fun.”

 The Daily Mail UK is reporting that former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has refused to wait another year for Manchester United job with club staff expecting Louis van Gaal to STAY on.

The respected British tabloid wrote on Friday morning: “Jose Mourinho will not wait for Manchester United if they decide to postpone bringing him in to replace manager Louis van Gaal beyond this summer.”

Daily Mail UK says that despite a difficult season clouded by speculation, Old Trafford staff believe Van Gaal will now stay on for the final year of his contract.
“That would mean Mourinho having to hold off taking the United hot seat until 2017-18, a wait he is not prepared to put up with,” it wrote.

As recently as last month, Mourinho confirmed that he would be back in management this summer but refused to confirm a destination despite saying he hoped to stay in England.

“I am not in position to turn down [jobs],” Mourinho said. “I am in a position to analyse, this is April, everything starts in July, every decision is made between May and the start of June.

“I am not in a position to deny, I am open to any club, national team, but I have to be honest, if possible, a club.

“I would prefer [to stay England]. I love the country, the football here, my family is very stable and happy.”

On the first episode of MTV Base’s ‘The Bigger Friday Show, Davido got pranked and his reaction was priceless.

A new season of popular Friday night comedy programme “The Bigger Friday Show” made its debut on Friday, April 29, 2016.

The first episode featured Davido pranked with the help of fellow HKN artiste, B-Red.

In the episode, a group of men arrived Davido’s house to demand for a refund of the money they paid into his account for a show. According to the strangers, the “Aye” singer failed to show up.

Reacting to the allegations, an angry Davido came down to meet the men, with Davido saying “don’t ever tell me to come down in my house again.“

Davido could be seen trying to hit the actors, and throw a bottle at them. He was too aggressive and this made them quickly round up the Prank before Davido destroy things beyond repair.

The second episode is set to show on Friday, May 6, 2016, with Reekado Banks battling Falz in a sumo wrestling match, and Cynthia Morgan solving a tricky maths question.
