He was in charge of Idemili North local government of Anambra State, but currently in police detention over his role in the rigging, was said to have confessed to his investigators that he did not rig the election alone, adding that “I was used and dumped”.
The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, had, in the heat of the controversies generated by the flawed poll, admitted that the “electoral officer” in Idemili North “messed up” and that he would be handed over to the police for prosecution.
Chukwujekwu was moved to Abuja on Sunday, just as INEC said it is conducting a probe into the deliberate sabotage of the governorship election.
A top official involved in the election opened up to LEADERSHIP on Tuesday that the arrested INEC official had confessed, and it appears that top directors in INEC might be “implicated” for their involvement.
“All fingers point to some aggrieved politicians and it was a well-funded package that involved quite a lot of people; that is why the man is saying he has been used and dumped,” the inside source said.

Assistant Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, on Monday evening assaulted a football agent, Henry Galliano, at the Rockview Hotel, Owerri, the Imo State capital.
According to PremiumTimes, the assault, which happened at about 6:00 p.m. happened because Golden Eaglets star, Kelechi Iheanacho, chose Galliano as his agent ahead of one recommended by Amuneke.
Galliano and his Nigerian partner, Solomon Oluwaseun, both said Amuneke invited them for a meeting before he got angry, saying that his (Amuneke’s chosen) agent must be the one to handle Iheanacho’s transfer.
Then when the agent, Galliano, tried to talk back, the coach slapped him and beat him up in the presence of over 25 people.

However, one survivor continued to stand tall with arms outstretched-- a giant statue of Jesus Christ that escaped unscathed from the natural disaster.
Though Haiyan erased entire towns from the map, Jesus remains upright, casting a protective gaze over the coastal town of Tanauan, in the central Philippines.
Pope Francis urged Catholics worldwide to pray for the victims of the typhoon that ravaged the Philippines, which has the largest number of Catholics in Asia.
The preservation of the statue has served as a symbol of hope to those still struggling to survive the typhoon's wounds, which left around 5,000 dead, according to recent death tolls.
Miracle, or simply coincidence?
