23 year old graduate confesses How he Stole Millions with ATM cards

By     No comments:

A 23 year old man, Ondavey weize, a graduate of the
Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi, Benue
state has revealed how he swapped the ATM cards of
several people with invalid cards with which he used in
withdrawing large sums of money from their account.
Weize who has over sixty ATM cards in his possession
said he came into Calabar, the Cross River State
capital two weeks ago from Abuja and has succeeded
in swapping the ATM cards of many people and
withdrawn money from their account with which he
spends lavishly in hotels and night clubs. He said..
“Some of those cards are not valid but many of
them are valid. What I do is I monitor people
making withdrawals in ATM and I go close to them
and pretend to help and when I notice the persons
pin number I immediately memorise it and while
the person is counting his money, I swap his ATM
card with an invalid one and later use it to make
withdrawals from his account”.
He said he had used the method to withdraw several
millions of naira from people’s account and does not
think of returning to the school he graduated from
since 2013 to collect his certificate.
“I am not keen in collecting my certificate from my
school or going for national service because I
make enough cash from my business to take care
of my needs”.
Weize who is from Vandeikyia in Benue State said he
was introduced into the nefarious business by a friend
from Ondo State whom he met in Abuja and they were
doing “the business together and after some time we

past three months”.
The young man was arrested in Calabar over the
weekend while trying to swap his card with that of
another person in one on the premises of one of the
new generation banks on Calabar Road and in his
possession was 258,000 .00 in cash
Mr Titilayo Busari, the Cross River State Police
Commissioner who paraded the young man called
people to be careful whom to ask for assistance while
making withdrawals through ATM.
‘They should ask the bank staff to help them or
should come with trusted people from their homes
to avoid falling into the wrong hands”

"Wizkid is a traitor & I don't like him anymore" -- Former producer & friend Samklef says

By     No comments:

Samklef, one of the producers who produced who
were part of Wizkid's rise to fame with hit singles
like Tease Me and five other songs in Wizkid’s first
album is currently not happy with him. While
speaking exclusively to Linda Ikeji’s blog, the
producer said Wizkid no longer work with him and
that he is painfully going about, talking down on his
talent.
“I’m not happy with Wizkid. I like his music, but I
don’t like him as a person anymore. The reason I
don’t like him anymore is, why do you go about
spoiling other people’s business? I never spoiled
your business, never came out to say anything bad
about you for four years. So why would you go to an
OAP and tell the OAP that the reason why you no
longer work with me is because my beat is amateur.
What does that mean? Those amateur beats was
what brought you to limelight, was what made you
meet the same Akon who first dropped ‘Don’t Dull’
on your voice.” Samklef said.
“I never downgraded him. I showed him love. I used
to go to his house…but he never came to mine. He
doesn’t know my house. He hasn’t even seen my son
before. It means he doesn’t regard me as a friend. I
wanted to feature him in one of my songs but this
guy kept posting me for years. That’s not even why I
am angry. I am angry because he’s going about
disrespecting my talent, saying these things in
public. It is annoying.
“I’m doing fine without Wizkid. I don’t want to say
I regret working with him but I’m thanking God that
we are all alive. But ask him, the people you are
going to feature in America, if they were like you,
would you meet them?
“I wish him luck. I don’t regret working with his
talent; I only regret working with his person. His
fame took him away. He forgot where he was coming
from. His person is very disgusting. There’s
something we call the grace of God.
“Before Wizkid got to where he is today, somebody
gave him a front line, somebody introduced him. He
didn’t just come from anywhere. Making music is
not just about one person. Banky was there to give
him the front line and others came to help out. I’m
not the only one complaining, other producers are
complaining. I don’t want to call names but nobody
is saying anything good about Wizkid and you call
yourself a superstar when you keep matching other
people down.
“What is the star about you? Is it because you are
featuring other foreign artists? You are not the
first to do that, others have done that before so why
are you carried away?
“I don’t want to do anything with Wizkid anymore.
Keep it to yourself, keep your name. I have new
friends and new family. But he can continue talking.
We are listening. I don’t wish him bad. He says my
beat is amateur but watch out for Samklef,” he said.

The police officers fired for a kiss

By     No comments:

When is it OK to kiss a colleague? Two Tanzanian
police officers, whose kiss was widely shared on social
media, have prompted a discussion about just that -
and both have also lost their jobs.
A relationship with a colleague can throw up any
number of complications, but the two young police
officers in the picture may not have thought it would
end their careers. The photograph - taken in Kagera,
north west Tanzania - shows the pair kissing whilst
dressed in their work uniforms, and was considered
grounds for dismissal. Residents of the country have
taken to social media to voice their dismay.
The image was uploaded to the internet by a third
officer, who also took the photo, and drawn to the
attention of the authorities at the Kagera police force.
Henry Mwaibambe, the regional police commander,
spoke to the BBC about the steps taken, and defends
his department's decision. "We followed all disciplinary
procedures to make sure that they were given a chance
to defend themselves," he says. "The officer looking at
the case was convinced there was compelling evidence
against them, and that they had breached police code
of conduct. That's why they lost their jobs." In this
case it wasn't the kiss itself that led to their dismissal,
but the fact that that it happened in public, whilst in
uniform, and was subsequently posted online. Indeed,
the officer behind the camera also lost his job over the
incident.
The story was picked up by the local press last week,
and news of the punishment has surprised many on
social media. Most believed the response was
disproportionate. "They should have been reprimanded,
sacking them is extreme, huuh!" posted one on
Facebook . "I once saw a pic of former US President the
late Reagan kissing his wife in the Oval Office... and
nobody called for his impeachment," said another.
"Police couple kissing taken more serious than bribery,"
wrote a third on Twitter.
Masoud George, a lawyer at the Tanzania Legal and
Human Rights Center says that as severe as the
punishment seems, the decision is unlikely to be illegal.
"It is according to their code of conduct, so from a
legal point of view we can't say their dismissal was
unfair," he tells the BBC.

Cameroon Paid Boko Haram $400K Ransom, Plus Arms And Ammunition, To Secure Release Of Deputy Prime Minister’s Wife, Other Hostages

By     No comments:

SaharaReporters has learned that the Cameroonian
authorities paid Boko Haram insurgents at least $
400,000 in ransom in order to secure the release of
Francoise Agnes Moukouri, wife of Vice Prime Minister
Amadou Ali.

Boko Haram insurgents had abducted Mrs. Ali in July
from the town of Kolofata. The insurgents also seized
the town’s district head. The deal to secure their
release was struck three days ago, as SaharaReporters
exclusively reported.
Our source, who was part of the negotiation that led to
the release of Mrs. Ali and several other hostages,
disclosed that the terms of the settlement included the
payment of an undisclosed sum of money from the
Chinese government. Boko Haram subsequently
released 10 Chinese construction workers who had
been held hostage since their abduction in May.
In addition, the Cameroonian government agreed to
release four commanders of the Islamist group who
had been in Cameroonian jails. The most disturbing
part of the deal is that Boko Haram militants demanded
and received a significant supply of arms and
ammunition, including a guarantee by Cameroon that
the weapons would have safe passage to insurgent
fighters.
Our source disclosed that President Idris Derby of Chad
was instrumental in the negotiations because of his
closeness to some Boko Haram commanders.
SaharaReporters had exclusively reported three days
ago that the Cameroonian and Chinese hostages had
been released. Cameroonian Minister of Information,
Issa Bakary, initially denied the report. However, the
office of the Cameroonian President, Paul Biya, today
declared that 27 hostages, including Mrs. Ali, 10
Chinese construction workers, and the district head of
Kolofata had been released.
The Islamist group has wreaked havoc in Nigeria’s
northeast zone and has made occasional forays into
neighboring Cameroon.

Policemen defy IGP’s order on checkpoints

By     No comments:

Commuters who ply the Lagos-Badagry expressway
have sent a Save Our Soul (SOS) message to the
federal and the state governments over the state of the
roads in the area with their devastating effect on their
health and businesses. Their trouble, they say, is
compounded by the decision of policemen who defy an
order banning all checkpoints by the acting Inspector
General of Police, Suleiman Abba.
In recent times, the Alakija/ Iyana Iba axis and the
Mazamaza/Mile 2 end have been a living hell for
commuters who are forced to spend hours stuck in a
gridlock occasioned by bad road and police
checkpoints. While some commuters said they have
resigned to fate, others expressed disappointment at
the slow pace of construction work on the roads and
pleaded that government should mend the potholes
that dot the highway pending when the road would be
put in proper shape.
A commuter, who said he had spent four hours from
Okokomaiko to LASU gate, pleaded with officials of
Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to help
members of the public by patching up the potholes.
“The road is already bad and coupled with the Sallah
celebration. Those selling rams and cows park their
trucks indiscriminately. I spent the whole day
yesterday from Okokomaiko to Alakija. It was hell and
no one can help the situation except the Federal
Government. We quite agree that the road is under
construction but how long will it take them to do it? I
am sorry to say this: CCECC should be given small
projects to handle. They are making a mess of
everything. FERMA is not even helping matters.
Fashola claims that it is his project, what does it take
him to enforce the speedy construction of alternative
routes while the project drags. It is a pity but
commuters are stressed out and their lifespan dwindles
by the day.”
Another commuter told Saturday Sun that trekking
home is now a way of life for people in the area. “It
has been like this for so many months and yet this is
a major route through which goods are imported and
exported. Nigeria is making so much money through im
port and export duties, why should an area be so
neglected? Let the road be patched pending when the
so-called construction will be completed. I guess
everything will be at a standstill till 2015. Fashola is a
honourable man and I personally voted for him. I was
very happy when he announced the construction of
Lagos Badagry expressway. He should save our soul.”
Police induced traffic
Not left out in the agony are also commuters who are
forced to sit in traffic caused by several police
checkpoints under the Mile 2 bridge. The checkpoints
normally become active at night, thereby flouting the
recent order by the police authorities on roadblocks.
Saturday Sun learnt that these policemen were actually
detailed to rid Mile 2 of armed robbers who, in the
past, had unleashed attacks on commuters.
It would be recalled that the acting Inspector-General
of Police, Suleiman Abba has said that the order
banning the setting up of police roadblocks nationwide
is still strictly in force. A statement by the Force spokes
man, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said the police boss had sent
a directive to all commands and formations of the
force nationwide asking them to immediately dismantle
“all semblances of police roadblocks and permanent
checkpoints reportedly re- emerging in some parts of
the country, especially in the South- East, South-
South and South-West geo-political zones of Nigeria.”
Commuters, who spoke with Saturday Sun , complained
that the traffic bottleneck is more often than not
caused by the extortion of commercial drivers by
policemen who set up more than 10 checkpoints
between Mazamaza bridge and Mile 2 bridge lube, a
distance of not more than a kilometre.
“Everybody is aware of the gridlock caused by tankers
along Apapa road but for more than a month, that has
been a thing of the past. Our major challenge is that of
Mile Two, which is caused by policemen attached to
the state’s Rapid Response Squad and some from
police divisions around the area. You will be shocked
that after spending hours on that Mile 2 bridge, you
will see no pothole or brokendown vehicle but police
men extorting money from truck drivers and other
commuters.
They are not even searching them but collecting
money. Those who refuse to pay are blocked and
threatened with guns thus causing traffic jam. There is
a way they can still do their job without causing
artificial traffic hold-up on that road. You will see more
than 10 checkpoints with one or two cops doing the
same thing. They do it with impunity while LASTMA
officials watch helplessly. As soon as they observe that
there is a security convoy approaching, they will all
disappear,” a commuter said.

Airtel BIS 1+1 offer, but the good news here is that
they just started another promo, this time around it is
no longer BIS but Android data 1+1 offer that allows
eligible SIMs to get a whooping 4GB for just N2K or
9GB for N3.5K, both valid for 2 months.
Airtel decided to follow exact pattern as they did during

SIM during those data zapping periods? Lol

know that your SIM is eligible and you can go ahead
to recharge your SIM with the said amount and redial
the code.
On the other hand, when you dial either code and get

Nigeria threatens South Africa over ‘frozen’ weapons deal

By     No comments:

Nigeria on Wednesday accused South Africa of blocking
a legal arms purchase and threatened retaliation against
major South African companies, including telecom giant
MTN, if the spat is not resolved.
A top official in the office of Nigeria’s National Security
Advisor (NSA) told AFP that the country had an
agreement to buy $5.7 million (4.5 million euros)
worth of military hardware in a deal brokered by a
South African firm.
The official, who asked that his name be withheld, said
Pretoria had frozen the cash wired to the South African
firm’s account.
A spokesman at South Africa’s National Prosecuting
Authority was not immediately available for comment,
but the asset freeze has been widely reported in both
Nigerian and South African media.
“The issue could affect bilateral relations between
Nigeria and South Africa,” the NSA official said.
He specifically mentioned MTN — a South African
based mobile phone and Internet provider with tens of
millions of subscribers in Nigeria — as a company that
could be targeted in a reprisal.
“You cannot be making so much money from Nigeria
and then turn around and embarrass the people,” he
further said.
The official told AFP that Nigerian President Goodluck
Jonathan called his South African counterpart Jacob
Zuma to inform him about the purchase and Abuja
was therefore surprised to learn that the deal had been
blocked.
Zuma spokesman Mac Maharaj had no comment on
the reported conversation between the two leaders, but
told AFP “the president is not a part of (the)
committee” that reviews arms deals.
The NSA official did not identify the South African
broker or specify what weapons Nigeria was trying to
buy.
The website of South Africa’s City Press named the
broker as the Cape Town based Cerberus Risk Solutions
but that could not be independently verified.
The development comes roughly three weeks after
South African customs officials seized $9.3 million in
cash stashed in the luggage of two Nigerians and an
Israeli.
South Africa’s prosecution authority said there was
evidence indicating those funds were intended to
purchase armaments to be used in Nigeria.
The Nigerian security official declined to comment on
whether the cash found in the plane last month was
part of a weapons purchase, but insisted the $5.7
million deal frozen by South Africa was a legal arms
“transaction through a bank”.
Nigerian lawmakers last month approved a request
from Jonathan for a more than $1 billion loan to fight
Boko Haram extremists.
Analysts saw the president’s request as a tacit
acknowledgement that the military is overmatched
against the Islamists, who are thought to control more
than two dozen towns and villages in the embattled
northeast.
Troops have refused to deploy for offensives against
the insurgents on grounds that they lack proper
equipment.

Van Vicker Denies Contracting Ebola In Liberia

By     No comments:

Charming Ghanaian actor, Van Vicker has
discredited reports that he has been diagnosed
with the deadly Ebola Virus Disease.
An entertainment online platform reported
Tuesday that the actor contracted the virus while
he was out in Monrovia, Liberia's capital shooting
the sequel to the movie ‘Bendu Sudan’.
Other reports on social media also suggested that
Vicker has been quarantined and denied access
back to Ghana.
But speaking on the Starr Drive, the 'Hands of
Time' actor said the reports are disheartening.
“It's annoying. I checked the website and just
couldn’t believe my eyes. Why would someone just
sit somewhere and just write what they want. Is
there nobody that regulates the activities of these
websites?” he asked. “I don’t get the story. It’s
just not right!”
According to him, he cancelled the Liberia trip last
month when he heard the news of the outbreak.
“I read the story, my intention was to go to Liberia
to shoot...but I didn’t go”
Vicker who is also of Liberian lineage revealed on
the show that he is working with the UN response
team based in Ghana to help the situation in his
home country.
“My heart does go out to all Liberians and I want
them to know I have not abandoned them. I am
doing all I can to help them in this time of crisis.”
More than 3,400 people have died in the current
Ebola outbreak in West Africa mostly.
In Liberia, the death toll is at least 1,100.
