The Imo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has struck out the petition of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the April 11 governorship poll in Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, against the election of Governor Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress.
Ihedioha, the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, had gone to the tribunal to challenge Okorocha’s victory, alleging mass irregularities and non-compliance of the election with the Electoral Act.
The tribunal, however, disagreed with the petitioner and struck out the case in its ruling on Wednesday in Owerri.
