Huffington Post reports that he was shot dead by an officer, after he cut a sheriff's deputy on the arm, at the lobby of theChester County Justice Center.
Chester County District Attorney, Thomas Hogan said Smith died at Paoli Hospital.
Hogan added that "The armed attacker was immediately neutralised by the sheriff's deputies."
Adding that "Smith was arrested by the Secret Service in March for jumping the fence at the White House."
Hogan also said "We have trained intensively to deal with the threat of an attacker in the Justice Center or any other public building. Today, that training paid off."
