According to police reports, on Thursday, 13th August 2015 at about 10:00pm, Police received a distress call from one female resident (name withheld) of GRA Gboko. She claimed that at about 7:30pm, she was intercepted by a lone-gun man at the gate to her house as she was about to drive in.
According to her, the said gun man forcefully snatched her Honda Accord (EOD, reg no. withheld), a huge sum of money and two mobile phones. One of the Safer Highway Patrol teams also mobilized to go after the criminal and that is when a patrol team intercepted the car at Akpagher village. Babatunde Asemoyebun, a Corper attached to Gboko LGA was found driving the vehicle and was immediately arrested. One black toy gun, victim's mobile phones, cash stolen from victim, head mask and NYSC ID card were recovered from the suspect. The victim identified the suspect as the attacker and the arrested suspect claims that he is a one man-squad. State CIID Makurdi is still investigating.
