The Saudi Civil Defence authority confirmed the figure of casualties on Twitter.
At least 65 people were killed when a crane crashed in Makkah’s Grand Mosque on Friday, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence authority said on its Twitter account.
It said nearly 80 people were injured as well.
