Algeria have managed to hold on to the top position in Africa according to the October edition of the FIFA rankings, while Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana remain in second and third spot respectively.
The Fennec Foxes remain fixed in 19th position overall in world football governing body FIFA’s list for the month, which makes them the highest ranked African side, while 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions Cote D’Ivoire also remain rooted in 21st position and the second spot on the continent.
Ghana are in third spot on the continent, but are putting pressure on the top two by moving from 27th position to 25th this month.

Senegal remain in 38th spot, keeping an eye on the Carthage Eagles two spots ahead of them. Congo experienced a disappointing drop from 42nd to 49th position in the world, allowing Cape Verde (41) and Cameroon (48) to pass them in the ranking, leaving the Congolese in eighth position in the African rankings.
