Jigawa state Commissioner for Health, Dr Abba Zakari Umar, has disclosed that another suspected Lassa fever patient, though not confirmed, has died in Zangargari village in Birninkudu local government area of the state.
Addressing journalists yesterday at the Government house, Dutse, shortly after the state executive council meeting, he said the case had not been confirmed yet “because the blood of the victim has been taken and sent to Abuja for laboratory analysis.”
He added that “presently action has been taken against those who may have come in contact with the victim before he died,” but that he could not disclose their number until the outcome of the specimen sent to Abuja, indicating negative or positive.
