Several schools in Umuchigbo community, Abakpa Nike in Enugu State have closed down following clashes between the members of the Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) and Fulani herdsmen.
Leader of the BNYL, Prince Chimezie Obuka, alleged that the herdsmen launched an attack in the area but encountered the BNYL security personnel returning from Uwani. He described the battle as “serious”, lasting three hours.
“We will continue to defend our people,” a defiant Obuka said.
The President (Muhammadu Buhari) should stop his kinsmen because we are ready to match violence for violence, burning down our church is what we will not tolerate next time,” he added.
