By     No comments:

Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, at the weekend affirmed that the worst problem bogging down people of the south East zone is the area’s dilapidated road networks. Speaking while fielding questions from journalists in Enugu, where he attendeda function at the Cathedral Church of the Good Shepherd, Anglican Communion, Professor Osinbajo said the situation is clear to the federal government.
He noted that despite government financial constraint at the moment, there is a need to make improvements on roads in the South East where commerce thrives and people move about a lot to earn their living.

The Vice President disclosed that he had discussed the issue of the roads with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, adding that the issue was not unknown to the federal government. ” Not just only one problem that the people of the South East have in terms of roads, you know what our financial constraints are, there is a need for improvement on roads where there is a lot of commerce and movement of people.”
Prof Osinbajo noted that there is need to raise the value of naira by discouraging importation of some items. In a homily at the church, where the Vice President attended a wedding ceremony, Arch. Military: Boko Haram Rocket Making Factory Photos Not Real

By     No comments:

The Nigerian military has debunked pictures of the rocket-making factory being displayed by the Boko Haram terrorists as fake, saying the intention is to deceive members of the public on the insurgents’ potency.

Some photographs purported to be sites of the insurgents’ bomb-making factories in the North-east region allegedly released by Boko Haram were displayed on some online platforms last week.

However, a top military chief has dismissed the pictures as a propaganda strategy of “a desperate and defeated terrorist group”, saying that the unveiled photos of its rocket-making factory, was that of Bama in Borno State, which has long been destroyed by the military.

The source insisted that “what the Boko Haram is displaying with the images allegedly being their rocket-making factory is deceptive. What you should ask is why didn’t they put it on video as they would normally do?

“Secondly, they do not currently possess the capacity to do such a thing because they are cash-starved and have lost their safe havens. I can tell you that this is an old picture of their Bama factory, which was destroyed a long time ago. These photos are just part of their political and psychological warfare to pretend as if they have the capacity to do those kinds of things”, the source added.

The source also noted that Boko Haram terrorists are currently cash-starved, lacked the manpower and as well as territory to manufacture such rockets.

Investigations also revealed that the expected flow of cash, resources and intelligence from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has been truncated by the recent developments in the Middle East.

“The point is that right now, Boko Haram lacks such capacity to manufacture the rockets in display because the ISIS they are depending on for cash are under immense pressure from the American and Russians bombardment in Syria and Iraq. So funding right now is difficult for them,” the source said.

Also, THISDAY findings further revealed that there is massive desertion by Boko Haram fighters, who are currently testifying and identifying key members of the sect. According to intelligence sources, the recent display of 100 key Boko Haram figures, was helped by the information supplied by the surrendering terrorists.

One of the reliable sources stated: “I can tell you authoritatively that what you are seeing in terms of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and the causing of panic within the Metropolitan areas is that the enemy are being dislodged from Sambisa forest. The terrorists are in distress, and running up and down without a safe haven. They are surrendering in droves and the number of the surrendering we have been having recently made it clear that the people they conscripted have all along been looking for a way of escape.

“You know that Federal Government recently launched ‘Operation Safe Corridor’ upon which a lot of the terrorists have surrendered with more coming out to lay down their arms and we are still profiling them. The Committee that the President set up with the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the three state governors of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe is working towards this goal.

“The next phase now is that we are engaged in psychological operations; a lot of leaflets are being dropped from the sky over the Sambisa forest, which is giving the terrorists a lot of hope that if they surrender, they won’t be victimised. So we have given them ‘Safe Corridor’ to surrender and warning those that have failed to do so that if at the expiration of this Amnesty, they will be arrested,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai, in continuation of his operational visits to formations and units particularly those within the Area of Responsibility of Operation Lafiya Dole, yesterday visited troops of 21 Brigade at Bama, Borno State.

In his address to the troops, Buratai reminded them of their mandate and deadline to clear the pockets of Boko Haram terrorists within their area of responsibility before the end of December which he strongly believes is possible looking at their high spirit.

He recalled that “the gallant troops librated Bama from the criminal Boko Haram terrorists on 16 March 2015”, and urged them to always be alert.

The highlight of the visit was on the spot promotion and decoration of two soldiers of the Brigade by the COAS for their gallantry, dedication and loyalty from the rank of Lance Corporal to Corporal, an event that further lifted the morale of not only the beneficiaries but the whole Brigade. The elevated soldiers include Corporal Thomas Orim of 202 Battalion and Corporal Abubakar Usman of 150 Task Force Battalion.

Buratai also visited other locations of the Brigade at Konduga, Awulari and Kwanar Banki on the fringes of Sambisa Forest where he met troops in high spirit and enjoined them to continue to do their best in order to defeat the Boko Haram terrorists.

Mysteries Sorrounding The Pyramid Of Egypt

By     No comments:

As unexplained mysteries go, the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt really are something special. We still don't really know how the Egyptians built the largest pyramid of all, known as the Great Pyramid of Cheops (or Khufu), some 5,000 years ago. Remember, this was even before the invention of the wheel. The Pyramid of Cheops is the size of a 40-storey building and covers an area big enough to fit 10 football fields in it. More than 2.5 million stone blocks were used to make the pyramid, each weighing 2-5 tons, covering about 13 Acres of land
and cut from a distant limestone quarry on the other side of the Nile. It’s important to keep in mind that it originally had an outer casing of white limestone blocks that were perfectly polished and fitted. For thousands of years, it looked like a gleaming, white structure like no other. Keep in mind, we are talking about structures that were built sometime between 10,500BC and 3,500 BC. Over time, earthquakes and erosion were responsible for what we see today. Experts reckon it took 400,000 men some 20 years to complete. Engineering feats aside, I'd like to examine the unexplained mystery of Pyramid Power. In the 1940s, a French hardware dealer spotted some mummified animals exactly one-third up the height of the Pyramid of Cheops. The remarkable thing was they showed no signs of decomposition. He deduced that the pyramid shape was responsible for preserving them. Later, a Czech radio engineer claimed to conduct an experiment in which heplaced a brand new razor blade inside a 1:1,000 scale model of Cheops. He aligned his pyramid on a north-south axis exactly like the real thing. After getting 50 shaves from the razor, he was forced to conclude that it was only getting sharper from being inside the pyramid. It took him 10 years to obtain a patent for this device, which he claims still has no scientific explanation today.

What power could have moved these stones? Each stone has been estimated to weigh approximately between 2 and 20 tonnes each. Think about that, that’s 2.5 million blocks of stone that weight between 2 and 20 tonnes each. How did they cut the blocks with laser like precision and fit them perfectly in place? How did they lift and transport the rocks from their original position? How did they move across the terrain, dessert, water, and sand and then lift them on top of each other in order to build the pyramid? Even if the workers had achieved the impossible and unimaginable feat of ten blocks piled up on top of each other a day, they would have assembled the 2.5 million stone blocks into the stone pyramid in about 250,000 days, that’s 664 years, not even long enough for the one whom it was supposedly built for to see its completion. “It would be impossible to assemble enough men even around a 9,000pound stone that is perhaps only three and a half feet by three and half feet. To lift this stone onto and off of a barge, and then to maneuver it in place on the pyramid would take ten men, three on each side and two at each end. This placement means that each man, if all lifted equally, would be lifting 900-pounds. Obviously such a miraculous display of strength not only seems impracticable, but impossible. These pyramids built by the Egyptians 4,000 to 4,500 years ago are one of the seven wonders of the world. If there were any references to any machines used in building pyramids they may have burned in the fires of the Alexandrian Library.” Richard Coslow.

Lagos Pastor In Homosexual, Serial Rape Scandal

By     No comments:

An alleged self-confessed pastor, Sadeeq Mustapha, is facing trial at a Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting at Ogba, Agege where he has been charged with alleged attempt To Molest two men....

Sadeeq (27) allegedly attempted to forcefully have sexual intercourse with a transporter, Oladimeji Taiwo, and a teacher, Yusuf Idowu, on October 9 and 10. The incident allegedly took place at No 9 Disu Akogun Street, Dopemu, Lagos.
The two-count charge against the suspect read: “That you, Saseeq Mustapha, on the 9th day of October, 2015 at 9, Disu Akogun Street, Dopemu, Agege, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by forcefully wanting to have sex with one Oladimeji Taiwo ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 166 (d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, Nigeria, 2011.

“That you, Sadeeq Mustapha, on the 10th day of October, 2015, at about 02.30hrs, at the same place and magisterial district, did forcefully wanted to have sex with one Yusuf Idowu ‘m’ by ordering him to pull off his clothes and committed an offence punishable under Section 166 (d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, Nigeria, 2011″.

The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
In his statement to the police, Oladimeji, one of the alleged victims narrated that the defendant met him in Dopemu area of the state, introduced himself as a pastor and then asked him for road direction around the area. After directing him, the alleged victim said the suspect requested to pray for him and that, since he liked associating with men of God, he took him (the pastor) to his house where he introduced him to his fellow tenants as a brother.

Oladimeji explained that they went into prayer session after the suspect had “blessed a table water he bought” on their way home, saying the prayer, which started late in the night, lasted for some time. He alleged that while the prayer lasted, the suspect ordered him to pull off his trousers and shirt, which he did. He added that, at a point, he started noticing some moves by the suspect and, as such, decided not to close his eyes anymore.

Oladimeji further alleged that the suspect’s mood changed as he asked him to lie down flat because, according to the suspect, the level of prayer they were about to go into required that he (the suspect|) lies on top of the person receiving the prayer. But that on noticing that the suspect was about to sleep with him rather than pray for him, he stood up, directed his gaze at the suspect, who had noticed a resistance to his intention, and warned him sternly against the attempt. He said he called off the prayer and sat down wondering with disbelief the alleged attempt To Molest him.

He said that because he didn’t want to disgrace a man who said he was a man of God and the fact that he had already introduced him as a brother, he allowed the suspect to go in the morning, unmolested, but told him never to come to his house again.
Oladimeji said that after that, he left for work and did not return till the following morning. Upon his return, the alleged victim was amazed to still meet the suspect in his house.

This was because the second victim, Yusuf, who only saw the Sadeeq and his co-tenant the previous night, did not know what had happened and, as such, had admitted the suspect into his apartment the second night during which the defendant allegedly attempted To Molest him in the same manner he tried To Molest Oladimeji the previous night.

On sighting the suspect, the latter said he ordered him to leave the house immediately but that Mustapha refused, prompting him to pick up a machete to attack him but for the intervention of neighbors who were later shocked to hear what the suspect allegedly did to his two victims. Still reluctant to leave the house, Oladimeji said he called his uncle, who instructed him to get the suspect arrested, which he did.
