APC Members Blast Buhari – You Have Abandoned Those Who Helped You Become President

By     No comments:

According to a Leadership report, several members of the APC are complaining that President Muhammadu Buhari has used and abandoned them, as far as appointments are concerned.
“APC was formed on five tripods. They are: ACN, ANPP, CPC, Faction of APGA and New PDP. If you look at the appointments done so far, some legacy parties have not gotten the share they deserved,” a member of the APC from the defunct ANPP, Bala Usman said.
He alleged that presently, only former CPC and ACN members were being appointed into Buhari’s government.
He said “The New PDP waxed itself into Leadership of both chambers of the National Assembly, against the powers that be. The former ANPP members are completely relegated and none of its members have been appointed so far into the Buhari government,”
“What is our offence for being an integral party of the merger that formed APC? PMB and others must understand that, if any of the tripods that formed APC had bolted out, APC wouldn’t have been occupying the Villa, but may still be in the courts.” another member said.
However, the National Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni said the agitation for appointments is normal in every democratic setting.
“Appointments cannot be done based on legacy parties because we are all one now. All of us dropped our parties to form the APC and we won the election. Luckily, President Muhammadu Buhari is a man of justice and the party is satisfied with all his appointments. More appointments would be done by the president at the appropriate time. We want to call on our party members and Nigeria to support President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver on the Change they have voted for,” he said

JUST IN : Buhari Orders Withdrawal of Ikpeazu’s Security

By     No comments:
A source at the Government House, Umuahia, disclosed that early this afternoon that there is disarray amongst aides of the governor as some of them may have deserted him.
“I can tell you that the situation here is very tense. The governor is nowhere to be found when the policemen and DSS operatives started leaving, meaning that they may have been withdrawn. The Chief Security Officer to the governor said he was told by the Government House police chief that it was orders from Abuja.
“As of now, I cannot say where the governor is because he left without most of us here knowing where to and we have been unable to reach him,” the source who asked not to be named because he was not permitted to speak, explained.
Ikpeazu was sacked from office by Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja on Monday following a suit by his party man and a governorship aspirant, Mr. Uche Ogah, that Ikpeazu submitted fraudulent tax documents when ran for the governorship on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
On Thursday, the Ikpeazu’s woes deepened when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), issued a Certificate of Return to Ogah claiming it was yet to receive a notice of appeal and stay of execution from the embattled governor.
However, on Friday, the spokesperson of the commission, Mr. Nick Dazang, reversed the earlier position explaining that the commission indeed received a notice of appeal from Ikpeazu but was directed to the wrong department.
“I discovered that INEC received Mr. Ikpeazu’s notice. However, it did not contain a motion or order of stay of execution. In the circumstance, and in deference to the previous court order, INEC as a responsible regulatory (body) has no recourse than to issue Mr. Ogah the certificate of return.
“By law, a certificate of return is supposed to be issued within one week. Also, the commission has decided as a matter of policy to obey all subsisting court orders. That means if the court were to issue a contradictory order, INEC has no option than to obey,” Dazang said.
However, the Abia State Attorney-General, Umeh Kalu, had in a statement on Thursday night, said the governor’s legal team included the notice of stay of execution order with the appeal notice delivered to INEC.
“I have a proof to that. Saleh N. Ibrahim, Senior Clerical Officer at the Legal Services Department of the Commission’s Headquarters, Abuja, who stamped the Notice of Appeal and Injunction with the Commission’s official stamp by 12.50pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.”

Philippines new President declares war on drug cartel - "If you know of any drug addicts, go ahead and kill them"

By     No comments:

New Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte, who recently declared "a bloody war" on drug cartels, has called on willing Filipinos to "go ahead and kill" drug addicts, amid concerns that "getting their parents to do it would be too painful."

The 71-year-old president, who said during his campaign that some 100,000 criminals would die in his crackdown, their bodies dumped in Manila Bay, has been conspicuously deaf to criticism that he was promoting a culture of death"

After taking his oath inside the Malacanang presidential palace, Duterte continued his defiance and threats against drug traffickers in front of a crowd of some 500 people gathered in a Manila slum Thursday night.

"These sons of whores are destroying our children. I warn you, don't go into that, even if you're a policeman, because I will really kill you," the outspoken Philippines leader told the crowd, AFP reported

If you know of any addicts, go ahead and kill them yourself as getting their parents to do it would be too painful," he added, noting that setting up funeral parlors would help earn some money.

"I assure you [that] you won't go bankrupt. If your business slows I will tell the police, 'Do it faster to help the people earn money.'"

During his speech, Duterte said that some of the major problems Philippines is facing, includes,  "corruption, both in the high and low echelons in government, criminality in the streets and the rampant sale of illegal drugs in all strata of Philippines society and the breakdown of law and order."

He warned that his fight against crime would be "relentless and sustained," pledging that it will remain within the boundaries of the law.

"As a lawyer and former prosecutor, I know the limits of the power and authority of the president. I know what is legal and what is not. My adherence to due process and rule of law is uncompromising," Duterte vowed.

According to Manila Bulletin, local drug lords had they raised the bounty they had put on the president. Over $1 million has now been promised for the assassination of the new leader.

Duterte, however is not deterred as he in turn offered a reward of 5 million pesos ($108,000) for a drug lord "if he is dead," urging the public to join his far-reaching anti-crime fight.

Chaos In Abia, Two Governors In One State... Okezie And Uche Battling For Seat Of Power

By     No comments:

chaos broke out constitutionally in Abia State, yesterday, after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, issued a certificate of return to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship claimant, Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah.
The commission said its action was on the basis of a court ruling, Monday, by an Abuja Federal High Court which removed Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu from office as governor of the state, allegedly for failing to fulfil requirements expected of a candidate for the governorship. The INEC action immediately paralysed activities in the Ikpeazu-controlled Government House in Umuahia, setting anxiety among officials and other stakeholders. A widely-publicised lecture to be delivered by Ikpeazu at the Abia State University, Uturu at 11.00 a.m., for which most of Ikpeazu’s cabinet had converged was unceremoniously aborted, following news of the development in Abuja. Ikpeazu in a riposte, filed and obtained an injunction from an Abia High Court stopping the state chief judge, the president of the Customary Court of Appeal or any other judicial officer from swearing Ogah into office. In a move interpreted by some as keeping Ogah at bay, the Ikpeazu administration declared today and Monday public holidays. The administration said the public holidays were to honour Chief Ojo Maduekwe, who died on Wednesday. Such developments followed yesterday’s issuance of a certificate of return to Ogah who was runner-up in the PDP governorship primary won by Ikpeazu. Two stakeholders in the PDP, Obasi Uba Ekagbara and Chukwuemeka Mba, had taken Ikpeazu to court, following his emergence as candidate, that he was not qualified to become governor on the grounds that his tax papers were deficient. In his declaratory ruling on Monday, Justice Okon Abang who heard the case, agreed that Ikpeazu’s tax and income papers were defective, saying he was not qualified to be the candidate of the PDP and immediately ordered that the runner-up in the primary, Ogah, be sworn in as governor. Ikpeazu had on Wednesday, filed his appeal against the judgment and had also declared that he would remain governor.
