808 People Killed By Fulani Herdsmen In Southern Kaduna Violence- Catholic Church Reveals

By     No comments:

The Catholic Archdiocese of Kafanchan alleged yesterday that the latest attacks in southern Kaduna State had claimed 808 lives with 57 injured.

It also alleged that 53 villages were attacked

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has described the attackers as foreign Fulani herdsmen, who were avenging past attacks on them and their livestock.

Addressing a news conference in Kafanchan, the Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kafanchan, Ibrahim Yakubu, said the government failed to protect locals.

Yakubu, who addressed reporters along with four other priests, said four local government areas had been attacked with 808 people killed and 1,422 houses, 16 churches, 19 shops, and one primary school destroyed.

He added: “Unfortunately, our government both at the centre and state levels have failed woefully. If anything, government has shown outright partisanship in favour of the herdsmen to the disappointment of the majority Southern Kaduna indigenes and Christians.”

The cleric, however, called for immediate end to attacks, and demanded compensation for all families that lost loved ones or property. He also called for the establishment of a commission of inquiry to investigate the causes of the crisis.

Senator Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central) also lamented that Southern Kaduna had become a slaughter house and a cemetery where human lives had become so cheap to destroy.

FG Set To Establish New University In 2017

By     No comments:

The federal government has said it will establish an Information Communication Technology (ICT) University in the first quarter of 2017.
This was disclosed by the minister of communications, Mr Adebayo Shittu on Monday, December 26 in Abuja, when he featured at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum.
His words: “By the grace of God, in the next three to six months, we should have established in Nigeria an ICT university which will be first of its kind in Africa.
“This is with the sole purpose of providing training environment and training facilities to make the industry have enough skilled manpower in various sub sectors of the ICT sector.
“I am happy to say that we already have what is called the Digital Bridge Institute which is for short term training programmes in six locations across the country and we hope to transform this institute into the ICT University of Nigeria.
“I am already talking to a lot of operators at the international level, Facebook, Motorola, Ericson, all of them. We are encouraging them to come and adopt the university campuses as their own.
“They can bring in money and bring in faculties and a lot of logistics to assist in training Nigerians and we can now export these trained skilled facilitators to African countries to work.’’
The minister said the interests of big ICT operators internationally would also earn Nigeria a lot of foreign exchange.
According to him, his ministry was at the stage of discussing with the ministry of education and the National University Commission (NUC).
“And all of these have already given us support, so we think that within the first quarter of the year, the implementation committee will be set up with a view to putting things in proper place for the eventual take off,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, the federal government has confirmed a part payment of fine slammed on one of Nigeria’s telecommunications company MTN.
The federal government said MTN paid N80 billion out of the N330 billion fine slammed on the company over violation of extant rules guiding telecommunications operations in Nigeria.

By     No comments:

Despite his huge success in 2016, Pana crooner Tekno who got a nomination in the ‘next rated’ category at the 2016 Headies awards has been disqualified from the awards.

Organizers say Tekno’s nomination was withdrawn after he failed to participate in any of the pre-award activities including photo shoots and interviews. Recall that Tekno had earlier called out The Headies saying he was nominated in the wrong category.

His disqualification leaves Aramide, Humblesmith, Mr Eazi and Ycee as contenders in that category. Linda Ikeji music crew reached out to Ubi Franklin for his reaction and but declined to speak on the matter.

Tips To Identify The Fake Plastic Rice Trying To Invade Nigerian Markets

By     No comments:

The ‘fake plastic rice’ saga has continued to trend across Nigeria after the Federal Operations Unit, Ikeja, of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, intercepted 102 bags of plastic rice branded “Best Tomato Rice’’ with no date of manufacture.
Several reports have revealed that China produces fake rice which is mixed with plastic for exportation to African countries including Nigeria and as the Yuletide draws close, there are indications that most people will fall victims to consuming the fake product.
Daily Post is reporting that you can determine if your rice is fake by carrying out some of the tests.
According to Daily Post, an expert, Emmie Shield revealed that the plastic rice is made by forming potatoes and sweet potatoes into regular rice grains shape, then adding industrial synthetic resins.
Shield said it remains hard after cooking and can cause serious health issues.
Nigerians have raised the alarm of possible flooding of the Nigerian market with the plastic rice, although, the NCS has assured Nigerians that it will uncover the person(s) behind importation of the deadly plastic rice.
Shield disclosed to Daily Post the various ways to discover the fake plastic rice.

Follow the steps below…
1. Water Test: Get a glass of cold water, pour a tablespoon of raw rice in the glass and stir. If the rice goes to the bottom, it is all good. If it floats at the top, it means it contains ‘plastic rice’.
2. When molding a few grains of rice with a mortar and pestle, if the powder gives a quite white colour, it’s fit for consumption but if it has a yellow discoloration, it is fake.
3. Boiling test: Observe the rice while boiling. If it starts forming a thick layer at the top of the pot, it is plastic rice.
4. Hot oil test: Take some of the rice drop into some real hot oil, it will melt or stick together or stick at the bottom of the pan if it is fake.
5. Fire test: Get a lighter and burn a handful of rice – If it catches fire and smells like burnt plastic, it is fake.
6. Mold test: Boil the rice and leave it in a warm place for like 2-3 days. If mold does not appear in a few days, the rice is fake. It will not get mold because plastic is not affected by the weather or temperature.

Manchester City And Chelsea To Face Fine And Ban After Ugly Incident At The Ethiad Stadium

By     No comments:
Image result for Manchester City and ChelseaImage result for Manchester City and Chelsea

Manchester City and Chelsea are set to learn if they face further FA disciplinary action in the fallout from Saturday’s fiery fixture.

Sergio Aguero’s wild tackle on David Luiz in City’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea earned the Argentine a red card and sparked a mass scuffle involving players and staff from both sides at the Etihad.

Fernandinho was also dismissed for grabbing Cesc Fabregas by the throat in the resulting melee and is set to earn a three-match ban, while Aguero faces four games on the touchline having already served a three-match suspension earlier this season for elbowing Winston Reid.

Aguero will miss fixtures against Leicester, Watford, Arsenal and Hull, but City manager Pep Guardiola was keen to move on from the incident, saying “we are going to accept the ban and keep going”.

City and Chelsea could face extra disciplinary action from the FA on Monday for failing to control their players, while Fabregas could also be banned for appearing to slap Fernandinho.

Fabregas was booked by referee Anthony Taylor for his part in the confrontation between both sets of players, but the FA could take further action if the slap was left out of Taylor’s post-match report.

VIDEO : “MMM Is Satanic And If You’Re Involved In It, You’Re Demonic” – Apostle Suleman Says

By     No comments:
images-19-350x216

The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, has told his congregation members to disassociate themselves from anything that has to do with Mavrodi Mondial Movement investment scheme, popularly called MMM.

Suleman said MMM is Satanic and that those involved in it are demonic.

Speaking during a church service, the clergyman said:

“Go and check the founder of MMM. He was a fraudster in America; defrauded people, and that’s what you’re involving yourself in and you are a Christian, looking for easy way out. Many Christians have gotten involved. If you are involved in MMM, I have to pray for you today. It’s not of God. Any quick fix way for money is not of God because some people are being defrauded to enrich some other people.”

“Any quick-rich scheme is wrong. In life, everything you get if is not favour from a particular individual. If it’s quick favour through a process, you will pay for it later. If it’s a person you know that walked up to you and blesses you, take it. That’s favour. But a quick business transaction that can bring a return of over 200 person, is not of God.”

13-Year-Old Boy Rapes Little Girl Inside School Premises...Details

By     No comments:

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with ràping a girl inside his school premises in North Reading, a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States.

According to Fox25, police say the boy was arrested at his Fecteau-Leary Middle School in Lynn on Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators said the case stems from a complaint made in North Reading.

The boy is charged with one count of aggravated forcible ràpe of a child, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office confirmed in a short statement.

He was arraigned in juvenile court Wednesday; the DA’s office declined to say more because of privacy laws regarding children and criminal investigations.

FOX25 reached out to the school to learn more information.

Fecteau-Leary Principal Maura Durgin-Scully referred us to the superintendent, and then said this.

“We’re the school. We’re just the school. Nothing occurred here. We’re the school,” said Durgin-Scully.

Parents at the middle school said they had no idea a student was arrested on campus and would have appreciated more communication.

The school district would not comment on why parents weren’t notified or if any other students are involved in the case.

50 Cent says Kanye West's mental breakdown Was Not A surprised At All

By     No comments:

Appearing on Watch What Happens Live in a segment tagged 50's two cents, the rapper whose real name is Curtis Jackson was asked his opinion on a number of recent showbiz news and he revealed he's not surprised at Kanye West's hospitalization due to mental issues. 'Oof! That was interesting 'cause I kind of like, felt you could kind of see that coming,' he said. 'In pieces, it was like, little outbursts.'

He surmised that Kim Kardashain's robbery in Paris the month before played a big role in it.
'I think that was a part of Kanye's breakdown,' he opined. He was quick to defend Kanye against claims the rapper is faking it in order to win an insurance payout for cancelled concerts. 'Nooo!' he insisted. 'He could have just went to work.'

On Mariah Carey's separation from James Packer he said: 'He said she was too expensive, he knew what he was getting into.'

But 50 pointed out they 'still need to settle the friendship' adding he should pay her 'a few million dollars because she stopped doing what was on the schedule.'

He said he did not see Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's split coming. 'Where does Brad go now?' he wondered.
