59,000 To Retake JAMB Examination

By     No comments:

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Friday said the board would reschedule examination for candidates who missed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination because of relocation of centres by the board.
The board said it relocated 59,000 candidates in 15 states because of problems in some of the centres.
It also said candidates who had system failure during the examination would retake it, if the board finds their complaint to be genuine.
The Registrar of the board, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, who said this at a press conference in Abuja, added that the new development does not affect candidates who missed the examination deliberately or failed in the examination.
Ojerinde said among the 1,546,633 candidates that sat for the 2016 UTME, 145,704 had issues of multiple results, which have been resolved by the board.
Prof. Ojerinde added that 23,577 candidates were absent on the day of the examination.
“We relocated candidates where the board had challenges. The board is looking at some of the issues raised during the examination, but most of the excuses raised by candidates are flimsy,” he said.
“We relocated about 59, 000 candidates due to the problems in various centres which vary from town to town. There are about 59,000 of them spread across 15 states of the federation.
“Those that were relocated never suffered any setback or inconvenience. For all these two sets of people, I want to apologise sincerely for what happened to them, but we are going to put on a redress for those whose relocation affected them in missing their examination.
“Let me use this opportunity to offer explanation on the issue of the much-publicized two results. The process of our marking involves transformation and other qualitative programming. In the process of these configurations, we had a little challenge which we quickly corrected and ensured that this never happened in subsequent results. This challenge was only associated with the candidates that sat for this examination on Saturday, 27, and some candidates of Monday, 29 February, 2016.”
Prof. Ojerinde said the board found out that some of the over 500 centres used for the CBT was compromised by the operators.
He said that one of its centres in Uromi, Edo State was invaded by mercenaries during the examination.
He blamed the education consultants for mobilizing candidates to protest against the conduct of the examination by the board, adding that the quality of the centres used for UTME would not be compromised.
He said: “In our quest to have adequate and effective centres for the exercise, we approved over 500 centres, but unfortunately, some of the centre operators were not sincere in proving us with the true position of their facilities.
“They hired equipment during the period of accreditation and other necessary apparatus and on the examination day, they were found wanting. This led to relocation or rescheduling of candidates from some of them to more suitable centres.”
Ojerinde said Nigeria was ready to take the CBT examination, adding that reverting to the PPT as directed by the House of Representatives would amount to lack of progress.
According to him, the CBT would be improved upon.
He said: “Even the physically challenged are taking the CBT examination. One of the blind candidates scored 286, so why should others complain?
“Going back to the Paper and Pencil Test will amount to taking one step forward and two steps backwards.”

Full-blown Sharia Law Imminent, CAN Raises Alarm

By     No comments:

DISTURBED by the recent announcement of President Muhammadu Buhari that Nigeria had joined a coalition of Islamic countries combating terrorism, an organ of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), National Christian Elders Forum, has revealed that it has on good authority, plans by the Federal Government to impose Sharia Law on every state of the federation.
The Christian Forum further revealed that there were some Islamist elements already in the country with the sole aim of Islamising the country.
Chairman of the forum, Mr. Solomon Asemota, SAN, supported by Christian leaders like the Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese of Catholic Church, Joseph Bagobiri, among others, the elders told journalists at a press conference that the Islamic elements in the country were already working towards achieving the goal of making Nigeria a Sharia state.
“We are aware that there are Islamists in government preparing to execute the Islamisation agenda. Any nation in which Islamists believe that they are sufficiently strong to exercise influence rarely experience peaceful cohabitation among the divergent groups within it.
“This is the current situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and the Sudan. Islamism thrives on injustice, inequality and unfairness. We urge Nigerians to remain circumspect so that the Islamists do not drag the nation down the path of destruction
“In the build up to the 2015 elections, majority of Nigerians expressed great hope that there would be change in the nation. However, ten months after the new government was sworn into office, credible apprehension can be expressed given the policy direction of the new administration. We hope that the buildup to these policies do not result in full blown Sharia which President Muhammadu Buhari had promised Muslims in Nigeria,” Asemota noted on behalf of other elders.
Speaking further on President Buhari’s recent actions which suggest that the motion was already in place to entrench Sharia law, the elders said: “The inclusion of Nigeria in the Saudi Arabia Military Coalition of “Muslim/Arab” nations would appear that the Foreign Policy thrust of the this administration is to make Nigeria a satellite state of Saudi Arabia. The strengthening of the nation’s democracy and security for all should remain the greatest priority of government.
“This we see to have been negated by the President’s fiat/ unilateral decision to enlist Nigeria in the 34 nations Muslim/ Arab coalition. Given the emotive and sensitive nature of this unilateral Executive decision, it should have been handled by Mr. President in line with our democratic culture through popular discussion and participation by the citizenry, or at the very least, through the National Assembly.”

'James Ibori Will Return In July To Help Sanitize Nigeria'-APC Chief,Ayiri Emami

By     No comments:

CHIEF Ayiri Emami, investor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has said his benefactor and former Delta state governor, Chief James Ibori who is serving jail term in the United Kingdom, UK, would return home to Nigeria not later than July this year.
Chief Emami, confidant of Chief Ibori, disclosed this on Friday in Warri where he hinted on his planned project to mobilise stakeholders and resources on a campaign to bring lasting solution to the menace of vandalisation of oil facilities which he said was causing huge damage to the nation’s economy. He said, “There have been speculations as to when Ibori would return, but I can confidently tell you that by June or at most July, he would return home to Nigeria and we all need him, especially in Delta to sanitize things again.
“If he were here, a lot of things would not have happened. Ibori was one of those who predicted that Goodluck Jonathan and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, would not win the 2015 Presidential election. It was fear of the unknown that made his brother, former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to remain in PDP. I listened to Ibori, I had to leave” On content of his campaign to end pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta, Ayiri said, “Far from applying of force of arms to shut out the vandals. The whole idea is to ensure that the oil and gas being taken from the region make meaning in the lives of the host communities. We’ll not achieve this if the vandalisation continues.
“The gas Nigeria produces supplies electricity to several parts of the country, but the communities from where it is being extracted don’t have the electricity to use. The crude oil from the land is refined into fuel but there are no fuel distribution outlets to serve riverine communities so they perpetually buy from the black markets.
“People are shouting now about fuel scarcity because of recent irregularity in importation, but year in year out, coastal communities in Niger Delta never get fuel at the normal pump price. My campaign to unfold soon is to ensure adequate provision of infrastructure and opportunities in the oil producing environment so that vandalism will stop”, Ayiri added.

Read What Teen Whose Breast Madonna exposed on stage has to say

By     No comments:

The 17 year old model, Josephine Georgiou, who works as a Gold Coast barista defended Madonna for exposing her breast when she was invited on to the stage during Thursday night’s concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
When asked if she was going to sue Madonna, she said:
“Seriously, why would I sue Madonna for the best moment of my life?,” she told The Courier Mail. “It was the best night."
“She was calling me a Victoria’s Secret model the whole time I was on stage, which is so flattering.”
“Only I get to decide if I’m humiliated or not, why would people assume I am humiliated by my own breast, nipple or body?” Georgiou said. “It’s hilarious to me how much of a big deal it is to everyone, people just need to understand I was on stage in front of Madonna, I was looking her in the eyes and most people would just melt into a pool on stage, so it was only because I was standing in front of her that I looked so surprised.”
She also denied claims the incident was staged and insisted she was randomly picked from the crowd.

“Ibinabo Fiberesima Begged Family Of The Deceased” – Daniel Wilson

By     No comments:
photojoiner-1-

She has dominated the headlines following the dismissal of her appeal against the five year sentence by a Lagos High Court judge for reckless driving which resulted in the death of a staff of Lagos State hospital in 2006.
Following her incarceration, an eye witness of the accident who also claimed to have helped the actress escape some area boys revealed to Charles Novia that Ibinabo was driving Daniel Wilson’s car and was not to be blamed for the accident.
In an interview shared by movie producer and critic, Charles Novia, Daniel Wilson was called and he defended Ibinabo saying the actress was indeed driving his car and had also begged the family of the deceased contrary to what the late Dr Suraj Giwa’s sister had said.
According to him, “It was unfortunate that the accident happen but it was not intentional in anyway. And we have been begging the family of the late doctor. Who said we haven’t begged? I personally, made numerous visits to the house to see the widow and elders of the family. We attended the burial of the doctor. I was there. We begged and begged. Not because we think begging could bring the man back but just because it’s human nature to forgive. So, it’s not true that we remained aloof’ Daniel concluded.
Mrs Biola Giwa-Adeyemi, sister of the late doctor killed in the accident caused by Ibinabo Fiberesima in an article shared Wednesday, March 16, 2016 claimed Ibinabo was never remorseful and refused to publicly apologize due to fear of her career coming to an end

Saudi Prince Offers Kanye $10m To Spend One Night With Kim Kardashian

Saudi Prince Offers $10m To Spend One Night With Kim Kardashian

The public display by American rapper Kanye West of his financial difficulties, has brought him an unexpected offer from Saudi King Salman’s youthful son and heir, Prince Mohammed: $10 million for the opportunity to spend one night with his wife, reality television star, Kim Kardashian. Kanye West created a worldwide commotion in February, by bashfully announcing on Twitter that he was $53 million in personal debt. The impecuniousness, he noted, was the result of following his dreams in the fashion industry.

According to Scoop, the self-designated “greatest artist of all times” publicly solicited the help of Mark Zuckerberg, whom he asked for $1 billion to keep making art. He also said he would be willing to accept money from Google’s Larry Page or any other rich benefactor. No billionaire has answered his plea yet, but the Philadelphia Police has extended a helping hand and offered him a job as a police officer.
The Saudi Defence Minister, Prince Mohamad Bin Salman, made a controversial offer yesterday, during a press conference, that could solve Kanye West’s money problems. The powerful prince, who has an estimated wealth of more than a billion dollars, offered to pay the rapper $10M to spend one night with his wife. “I have no interest whatsoever in his music or his clothing,” Prince Mohamad told reporters, “but his wife, she is a treasure of inestimable value. I would gladly pay $10M or even more to spend one night with her.”
Neither Kanye West nor Kim Kardashian, have reacted to the offer yet, but it has already provoked violent reactions from various feminist organizations. In an interview with CBS, the spokeswoman for the Women’s Liberation Action Network, Jane Austin, called the offer “an insult to women across the world”, saying that it shows how women are still treated as objects is certain parts of the world.

Pres Buhari To Commence Operation Save The Economy

By     No comments:

A powerful economic retreat convened by the present administration to offer solutions to the current economic challenges facing Nigeria will hold on Monday and Tuesday next week.

The retreat, being put together by the National Economic Council, with the 36 state governors as members and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as chairman, will hold in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to a statement on Thursday by the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, President Muhammadu Buhari will deliver the keynote address during the retreat’s opening session on Monday.

Akande said Osinbajo, being the chairman of NEC, which is an advisory body to the President, would preside over the retreat with governors from the 36 states of the federation attending.

Others expected at the meeting, according to the statement, are the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele; and the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma, among other functionaries.

The statement reads:-

“The objective of the NEC retreat is to provide a forum for in-depth discussions by NEC members of the policy actions that the states and the Federal Government can consider in order to stimulate local production, cut costs and enhance public revenues among other measures to stimulate the economy.

“Contrary to suggestions, the retreat is not an emergency national economic conference.

“The idea was mooted at the last regular NEC meeting in January, where members requested an intensive session to review economic trends and evolve strategies to cope.”

It would be recalled that Nobel laureate, Proffessor Wole Soyinka, had called on the President to summon an emergency economic meeting to chart a course to save the country from further drift.

House Of Reps Orders JAMB To Revert To Paper-pencil Test

By     No comments:

The agitations from candidates may have started yielding fruits as the House of Representatives has asked the Federal Ministry of Education to direct the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to revert to pencil-paper method in the conduct of UTME or adopt both PPT and CBT so that candidates can opt for any one of their choice.
This followed a motion moved by a lawmaker from Lagos State, Mr. Oghene Emma-Egoh, on the “conflicting” scores of candidates who took the examination.
The law maker stressed that the technical errors experiences during the examination has invariably dashed the hopes of many of these candidates in gaining admission this year.
The law maker further pointed to two cases of conflicting results. One is that of Ibrahim Shawulu from Kogi State, who was said to have scored 399 out of 400, and in less than 24 hours his score was reduced to 199.”
Another is that of Foluke, the 17-year-old girl in Ejigbo-Lagos, who scored an aggregate of 156 and when the result was checked again she had an aggregate of 196.”
Based on these and other technical flaws that marred the conduct of the 2016 UTME, the house of Representatives is of the opinion that JAMB does not have what it takes to manage the Computer Based Test.

Foluke Daramola: People Talking About My Boobs Pains Me

By     No comments:

Foluke Daramola-Salako is an actress of note and a humanitarian. The full-figured actress, cum producer, in this interview with ANGELA DAVIES, talks about her marriage, career and style.

What is your latest movie?

My latest movie is titled Cobweb. Incidentally, my husband featured in it as well. He made his debut as an actor and executive producer.

The Cobweb is an intriguing story which will always attract the love and passion of every typical African family for the purpose of learning that the wish of destiny over who and what a child becomes in life can always supersede that of parental domination, force and probably undue influence most times.

The movie features stars like Funsho Adeolu, Uti Nwachukwu, Saidi Balogun, Princess 2p, Dele Odule, Ayo Adesanya and a host of others. It is coming out in October by God’s grace.

You are glowing, what is the secret?

Well, peace of mind and thank God, I have the right man beside me. I have a friend beyond us being husband and wife. He is a friend that someone can relate with.

If you have a friend in your man, you don’t need any other friend outside. Having the right kind of man is in true friendship and I think God has blessed me with that.

What is marriage like for you now?

Marriage is fulfilment, contentment.

Does your husband sometimes feel jealous that you get all the attention being a celebrity when you attend events together?

Sometimes, jokingly he says maybe in another life, he will like to become a star like me. He does not have a complex problem. My husband can deal with a man toasting me; he will just smile because he trusts me.

And I gist him a lot about who my toaster is and he will laugh over it and says he hopes somebody will not take away his wife. But it is just the fact that we are friends, we can share any and everything.

Even if he admires a lady, he will tell me, ‘Foluke that lady is cute, what do you think?’ So, it is beyond marriage. Marriage is not supposed to be rigid; it is supposed to be a relaxed thing. That way, you will both enjoy it. My husband can be sweet and he can be firm.

Sometimes when we go out together and I am hasty with my fans, he will say, ‘what is wrong with you? I told you to smile, you should always force a smile, they are your fans and they appreciate you.’ So, he is like my teacher in that regard. At the end of the day, he is one person who has been able to push my career positively.

How would you define your style?

My style depends on my mood. I wear more of jeans because I am a casual person. I have always been a tomboy since I was young. I am more of a matured dresser now and I guess it goes with age.

Earlier in my school days, I used to be the one to expose everything. But now, aside being older, the fact is that I am more matured and I am a mother.

So you are saying people will be seeing less of the exposures?

Definitely. I want to do a bit of mentoring to the younger generation. And because I want to do that, I don’t want them having the wrong ideas about being a celebrity.

When I was much younger, people use to say Foluke Daramola exposes her boobs and all that. But now, I think I am more grown. Also, my daughter is becoming a teenager and I don’t want her having the wrong ideas about who her mother is.

I want her to grow up like a responsible young lady as well. So I have to set the pace to give her the right direction.

How do you feel when people associate you with your boobs?

It pains me because there is a whole lot to me than just the boobs and entertainment. I am an intellectual. I am one person who relate with education, but unfortunately or fortunately, I will say that people just think about Foluke and the next thing they think about are my boobs. I count it as an asset and I have grown to just appreciate it the way it is.

Your dressing has changed positively. But how does your husband love to see you dress?

My husband is not the type that would want me to look old school. Sometimes, he wants me to look sexy, sometimes he wants me to wear bump short, but that is when I am around him.

And he never complains about what I wear or what I do, but I am the one who knows the limit because of what I want to represent.

This is your second marriage. What advice will you give to young, single ladies?

First and foremost, they should not rush into marriage. Sometimes you should be complete in yourself first. When I got married and I missed it the first time, I didn’t want to get married again because I felt that I already have two kids.

But I discovered that if you can actually be complete in yourself and be yourself, you will enjoy that companion.

We all have our misdeed, but it’s just for us to face the positive, ignore the negative and be able to respect each other. There are challenges, no doubt. Like my husband and I argue sometimes, but then it is about the fact that we understand that it is beyond just being married, but having true friendship. So, single ladies should be complete in themselves first.

What is your advice for women who face domestic violence and still stay in the marriage?

I am an advocate against domestic violence. I always tell my husband at every given opportunity that if any man dares raise his hands to touch me or abuse me in any way, I will not be ashamed to walk out of that marriage.

I have been a victim of something like that in the past and I knew the effect it had on me. I had low esteem of myself and I didn’t have any hope for the future. It is like you are dead, alive.

It is better for you to walk out of that marriage to discover yourself. It is better for you to be alone and be the true value of what you are supposed to be than for you to be somewhere hurting yourself and dying gradually.

What has life taught you?
Life has taught me that there is nothing you can compromise than your happiness. And then, it is good to be able to impact into humanity.

How about your signature perfume?

It is a combination of a whole lot of perfumes.

I combine like 10 perfumes because I don’t want people to know exactly what I am wearing.

Are you a shoe freak?

I am a shoe and purse person, but more of a wristwatch person.

My favourite designer is Michael Korrs. I can buy up to 15 Michael Korrs fashion items at a time.

That is how much I like this designer.

Tupac Shakur's mother headed for divorce and her husband demands 50/50 of Tupac's wealth...

By     No comments:

According to TMZ, Tupac Shakur's mum is getting divorced and her husband wants half of that Tupac money. Read report below..
Afeni Shakur filed for divorce against Gust Davis, her husband of 12 years. For some reason we're told the couple doesn't have a prenup. Afeni filed in North Carolina, where judges are not required to divide property 50/50, but rather on a case-by-case basis to determine what's fair.
They have lots of property and he wants, among other things, the right to live on their 50 acre North Carolina ranch and wants the keys to the houseboats. Gust, who's a minister, also wants to keep his sweet Jag. Gust also wants alimony. We're told the Tupac Estate rakes in around $900k a year, but according to Gust, after expenses Afeni gets around $20k a month. We're told he wants $10k a month for the rest of his life.
As for Afeni, she's been separated from Gust for a little more than a year. She's currently living on a houseboat in Sausalito, CA. Afeni has filed legal docs asking the judge to shut down Gust's alimony request.
