UN To Mobilize Against Boko Haram

By     No comments:

The United Nations (UN) has promised to assist Nigeria in the fight against members of Boko Haram, saying that it will mobilise international community against the menace of the terrorist sect.

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Africa, Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambers, stated this in Abuja yesterday when he visited the Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau. He described the activities of the Boko Haram as heartbreaking and outrageous .

According to him, the incessant attacks by the terrorist group has triggered global attention and the need for maximum support for Nigeria, saying that the decision to support Nigeria will mark the beginning of the end of terror in Nigeria.

Chambers said, “The UN will fully mobilize to support Nigeria in the fight against terrorism and any other renegade behaviour that threatens the peace and stability of the country”.

He added that the UN appreciates the intrinsic link between peace, security and socio-economic development, saying that the UN envisages building a fruitful relationship with the ministry of interior and its allied agencies. He also commended the police and other paramilitary officers and men who have served and distinguished themselves at various levels in the UN.

Ohaneze To Biafra Agitators: Stop This Madness - The Nation

By     No comments:

The apex lgbo socio- cultural organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has warned the south East, south south youths to stop the secession agitation, saying that it will never work.

Rather, the body called on the youths to give support to the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari for him to have a look at the dilapidated roads in the zone.

Briefing reporters Friday in Awka, the chairman forum of state presidents of Ohaneze in the seven Igbo speaking states, Elder Chris Eluemunoh, said the group would never support agitation of Biafra as being demanded by the youth.

The seven states of Ohaneze included Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu,Imo, Delta and Rivers.

Before now, the youths in the zone had held cities like Aba, Awka, Onitsha, Owerri, Enugu, Abakiliki, Asaba and Portharcourt hostage in the past weeks calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, Benjamin Onwuka and others by the federal government.

The youths were doing the demonstrations under the aegis of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) with few other members of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) involved.

However, the Ohaneze chairman Friday said that what the youths were doing could be described as pure madness, adding that it would have been a different ball game if they were protesting against the bad state of roads instead of agitation for Biafra.

According to Eluemunoh, “Ohaneze as Igbo cultural group cannot support insurgency, we are totally against it and we will never support it.

“Anybody that has any issue with the federal government should go for dialogue with the president and that is why we went for national conference, Nigeria is a one united country and we do not want any other.

“I believe what the youths are doing is to call the attention of the president to see the infrastructural decay in the zone, this region has been abandoned and neglected and not by Buhari, but by previous administrations started by Olusegun Obasanjo which Goodluck Jonathan also tried to bring back.

“Ohaneze is calling on the federal government to declare state of emergency in the zone on roads for purposes of infrastructural development and that is what the youths are saying, we believe and not secession.

“Our president should forget what happened in the last election and Ohaneze is going to give him full support through prayers and other means and in making sure that Nigeria stays as one indivisible entity.

“Therefore, the youths should stop such agitations for Biafra because Biafra died in 1970 and we are saying it again that Ohaneze will never support it,” Eluemunoh warned.

However, the group said if Nnamdi Kanu and others who were spearheading such agitation had committed any offence, they should face the law, but if not, they should be freed.

Furthermore, he debunked the allegation that the youths were being supported by top Igbo politicians, adding that if indeed they were getting any support from anywhere, it should be from outside Nigeria.

He said they believed that such restiveness by the youths could stop if roads like Oba-Okigwe road, Owerri – Portharcourt road which Ohaneze described as the worst in Nigeria were fixed.

“What they call agitation for Biafra is not in the dictionary of Ohaneze Ndigbo and we will never give it a look in, what Ohaneze is saying is that president Buhari’s administration should be supported to move this country forward,” said Eluemunoh.

New Case Of Ebola Discovered In Liberia – WHO

By     No comments:

The World Health Organisation on Friday announced that a new case of the deadly Ebola virus has surfaced in Liberia, which was declared Ebola free in September.

There is one confirmed case,” WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic told AFP, without providing further details.

The west African nation, where thousands died at the height of the epidemic last year, was first declared Ebola free in May, only to see the fever resurface six weeks later, and again in September.

Since the beginning of the outbreak, Liberia has registered more than 10,600 cases and 4,808 deaths, according to the latest situation report from the UN health agency published earlier this week.

According to the latest toll given by WHO, the epidemic that started in December 2013 has left more than 11,300 dead, mainly in the west African states of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, out of almost 29,000 cases.

Friday’s news comes just days after the medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) announced the last known Ebola case in Guinea, a three-week old girl, had recovered.

Guinea still must wait 42 days with no cases before being declared Ebola free. Sierra Leone was declared to have beaten the virus earlier this month

Davido’s Dad’s Divorce: Judge Bars Journalists from Covering Case

By     No comments:

A judge in Osun State, Justice A. O. Oguntade, at the state High Court, Ede, on Thursday barred journalists from covering the divorce proceedings involving millionaire businessman, Deji Adeleke, and his estranged wife, Teju.
Adeleke, who is the Chancellor of the Adeleke University, is the father of popular musician, Davido. PUNCH reports he was present in court on Thursday but the estranged wife was not when journalists were chased out.

Oguntade had on Monday, November 16, prevented journalists who were present at the court by
chasing them out of the court room.

The judge again on Thursday asked journalists present in the courtroom to go out before the proceedings started.

On entering the court, Oguntade said:

“Journalists present in this court should go out. I repeat, journalists present in this court should go out now.”
The judge asked his orderly to escort the journalists out and the orderly relayed the order to the senior police officer, Adeoye Yekinin, who led a team of armed policemen deployed in the court for the divorce case.

The police officer, however, was polite in carrying out the order as he pleaded with the two journalists including their correspondent to vacate the court.

The armed policemen waited patiently for the journalists to leave before they returned to the entrance of the court.

Some of those present in court expressed shock over the heavy presence of armed policemen.

One of the lawyers present in the court for another matter said one of the parties involved in the case did not want publicity.

Counsel for the estranged wife, Mr. Kemi Pinheiro (SAN) , had during the proceedings on Monday accused the judge of bias.

Despite the allegation, Oguntade ordered journalists out of the court and instructed his orderly to ensure they were chased out of the court.

“I did not award any $2 billion contract for procurement of weapons. Where did the money come from?” he said
In a statement on Wednesday November 18th, Dasuki alleged that he bought some weapons worth over $2 billion which was approved by the former President(read here). He also dismissed allegations that $59.8 million was stolen just a year before the end of his government

“In Nigeria, if you lose $59.8 million in a year, federal and state governments will not pay salaries. Of course we brought international audit teams, forensic auditors and they didn’t see that,” he said.

Lady who had Unprotected Sex with Charlie Sheen Everyday for 8 Months Despite Knowing He was HIV-positive

By     No comments:

Amanda Bruce said she was dating Sheen for about eight months and revealed that even after the actor broke down in tears and told her he had been diagnosed with HIV, she made the decision to engage in unprotected sex with him.

She said during an appearance on The Dr. Oz Show the two were intimate 'every day' and that she
first consulted doctors and took PrEP (pre- exposure prophylaxisto) to lower her risk of contracting the virus before they had sex.

One of those doctors, Sheen's physician Dr. Robert Huizenga, appeared alongside Bruce on the show and said he advised her against unprotected sex with his patient.
'I was the doctor for her boyfriend, we called in other doctors and they felt the risk of transmission if she took the prophylaxis and he had undetectable level was miniscule. We can’t say it’s zero,' said Dr. Huizenga.
'And so basically I think my advice to her was, "Don’t do it, but the risk is miniscule." And she elected to then go forward because she felt so close and wanted that level of intimacy.'
Bruce then explained;
'I mean, if I had met him on one night, and we had decided to engage in this, I'd say, "That's Russian Roulette."
'The reality is, we had known each other for many months before we engaged in [sexual relations], and we were a couple, I was in love with him.'
The two were exclusive when they started having unprotected sex according to Bruce, who also noted that Sheen was always good about taking his medication.

Bruce said the two have since split but remain close and are no longer sexually active with one another.

She also said that she is HIV-negative and that she hopes that Sheen going public will help to remove some of the stigma that surrounds the virus.

More of the actor's former flames are also going public and revealing details of their trysts with Charlie Sheen.

Jason Quinlan, the close friend of a woman who had a threesome with Sheen at his Beverly Hills mansion in 2011, revealed to DailyMail.com that the actor paid $10million after the woman learned he was HIV-psoitive - which he did not disclose before they had unprotected sex.

The woman only learned of his status when after a 12-hour drug, alcohol and sex marathon, the spaced-out superstar nonchalantly asked the porn star to fetch his 'HIV pills' from the bathroom.
'She felt sick, she told me she had been having unprotected sex with Charlie and was convinced she had contracted HIV from him,' said Quinlan. She told me, "I'd been having unprotected sex with him for almost a year along with 50 other girls at minimum."'
TMZ is also reporting that already six of Sheen's former sexual partners are planning to sue the actor for 'intentional infliction of emotional distress, fraud, sexual battery.' Some of these women are alleging they have had both protected and unprotected sex with Sheen as recently as a month ago.

Radar Online meanwhile has spoken to a source close to an attorney who said one individual had had sex just this past week with Sheen, and that he did not reveal his status.

'And a second individual claims they had sex with Charlie three weeks ago,' said the source.
'All of these people say they were not notified by Charlie about his HIV status and now they want settlements.'

Obama Places $5million Bounty on Head of Key ISIS Terrorist - Tirad al-Jarba (Photo)

By     No comments:

Barack Obama’s administration announced last night that it was offering a reward of up to $5m (£3.3m) for information leading to the location or identification of Tirad al-Jarba, better known as Abu-Muhammad al-Shimali.

The US State Department said Abu-Muhammad al-Shimali had been associated with the extremist
group now known as the Islamic State since 2005, when it was an Al Qaeda affiliate in Iraq.
It said he was now a leader of its immigration and logistics committee, responsible for moving foreign terrorist fighters into Syria and processing the group’s new recruits there.

The bounty note states:

‘Shimali and the Isis immigration and logistics committee coordinate smuggling activities, financial transfers, and the movement of supplies into Syria and Iraq from Europe, North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.
‘In 2014, Shimali facilitated the travel from Turkey to Syria of prospective Isis fighters from Australia, Europe and the Middle East, and managed Isis’s processing centre for new recruits in Azaz, Syria.’
Shimali, who has also been described as Isis’s gatekeeper, was placed on a US Treasury Department sanctions list in September last year, freezing his financial assets and banning him from travel.

Earlier this week Vladmir Putin offered a $50m (£33m) reward for information which leads to the arrest of those responsible for the bombing of Metrojet Flight which killed 224 people and which Russia confirmed was caused by an ‘act of terrorism’.
