50 Cent deletes photos of his 3yr old son from his IG following rumour his baby mama dating Jason Derulo

By     No comments:

50 Cent's baby mama Daphne Joy is currently in a sizzling romance with singer Jason Derulo and it looks like the rapper doesn't like it, especially after they took it public. Since then, his fans have noticed that 50 Cent has deleted every single picture of his 3 year-old son with Daphne from his instagram page. He posted a few during Christmas, but they are no longer there.
He doesn't want to be with his babymamas and still doesn't want other men around them? Same thing happened with his other baby mama Shaniqua Tompkins who once accused 50 of kicking her and their then 10-year-old son Marquise out of their house after she began dating someone else. The house later burned to the ground under mysterious circumstances after Shaniqua refused to move out.

Twitter To Expand Tweets From 140 Characters To 10,000

By     No comments:

Twitter’s most beloved features is set to change. The company is planning to extend its 140-character limit to as many as 10,000, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Twitter’s fans were quick to complain that such a change, expected to be announced by the end of March, would spoil the brevity and speed of the real-time service.

The character limit that forces users to pen snappy tweets could give way to the longer essays found on Facebook. It could transform Twitter into more of a public blogging platform rather than one that is succinct and well-suited to quips and breaking news headlines.

This person said, however, that Twitter Inc. is aiming to retain the look and feel of the user timeline. For tweets that are longer than 140 characters, users will have to click and expand to see the rest of the text. As users write beyond the 140-character limit, Twitter will signal to them that they have crossed the threshold as a way to encourage brevity.

In a tweet on Tuesday after the news spilled out, co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted a screenshot of text, 1,317 characters with spaces, explaining his thinking behind the expansion.

“We’ve spent a lot of time observing what people are doing on Twitter, and we see them taking screenshots of text and tweeting it,” Mr. Dorsey wrote.

“Instead, what if that text…was actually text? Text that could be searched. Text that could be highlighted. That’s more utility and power.” Despite the change, Mr. Dorsey said Twitter will “never lose that feeling” of speed, creativity and brevity.

“Despite the lamentations that the change will alter the spirit of Twitter, the truth is that users have been clawing for a longer character limit for some time. Loyal users often create so-called tweetstorms where they string a series of tweets together by replying to them in numerical succession. Users have also gone around the character restriction by attaching screenshots of longer text to their tweets.
In July 2015, Twitter expanded the 140-character limit on private messages to 10,000.

Twitter has been doing a bit of soul-searching to jump-start user growth ever since the return of Mr. Dorsey as CEO in July. The debate to increase the character limit has been in the works since as early as September.

Obama cries as he pushes gun control at speech surrounded by families of mass shooting victims

By     No comments:

US President Barack Obama put the weight of the Newtown, Connecticut, shooting behind his newly announced gun measures yesterday morning, crying for the 20 school children who died in the 2012 massacre as he stood with their families.
'Every time I think about those kids it gets me mad,' Obama said as tears rolled down his face.
Obama was introduced by Mark Barden, the managing director of Sandy Hook Promise. Barden’s son Daniel was killed in the Dec. 14, 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Also on stage with Obama today: Jimmy Greene, the father of Ana Grace, another child murdered in the Newtown massacre.
'We do not have to accept this carnage as the price of freedom,' Obama said, as he stood before gun control activists, including former representative Gabby Giffords, who was shot point blank five years ago this week and survived"

The president was flanked by gun violence survivors and the families of others who were not as fortunate as he spoke.
Peter Read, a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and the father of Mary Read, killed in the 2007 shooting at Virginia Tech, joined the president on stage as did Jennifer Pinckney, the wife of Reverend Clementa Pinckney, murdered at the Emanuel AME in Charleston last year.
Obama pointedly lambasted Republicans decrying his executive actions and told presidential candidates, including Donald Trump, who have characterized the new measures as the beginning of the end, 'This is not a plot to take away everybody's guns.'
'Contrary to the claims of what some gun rights proponents have suggested, this hasn't been the first step in some slippery slope to mass confiscation,' Obama declared in remarks from the East Room of the White House.
We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to become scapegoats for President Obama’s failed policies - NRA official Chris Cox
To those who are trying to 'twist' his words on the Second Amendment, Obama reminded them, 'I taught constitutional law.'
'I know a little bit about this,' he said. 'I get it.'
'But I also believe that we can find ways to reduce gun violence consistent with the Second Amendment,' he said.

The president berated lawmakers on Capitol Hill for not doing more to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and said, 'The gun lobby may be holding Congress hostage right now but they are not holding America hostage.'

N. Korea conducts successful powerful Hydrogen-bomb test

By     No comments:

North Korea yesterday conducted a 'successful' hydrogen bomb test, Pyongyang has confirmed.
The detonation of the thermonuclear weapon triggered a 5.1 magnitude earthquake when it exploded at 10am local time at the Punggye-ri test site in the north east of the country, the tremors of which were felt many miles away.
Its ignition ends weeks of speculation that leader Kim Jong-Un had developed such a weapon, which is lighter yet even more powerful than the fission blast generated by nuclear bombs containing uranium or plutonium alone.

'The republic's first hydrogen bomb test has been successfully performed at 10am on January 6, 2016, based on the strategic determination of the Workers' Party,' a state television news reader announced five-and-a-half hours after the blast.

The broadcast concluded by saying: 'If there is no invasion on our sovereignty we will not use nuclear weapon. This H-bomb test brings us to a higher level of nuclear power.'
The successful detonation marks a major step in North Korea's nuclear development and is bound to cause considerable anxiety to neighbouring countries.
Last month, Kim Jong-Un had suggested Pyongyang had already developed a hydrogen bomb - although the claim was greeted with scepticism by international experts.

Companies’ Rejection Of Corps Members Against Spirit Of NYSC – Dalong

By     No comments:

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Solomon Dalong on Tuesday in Lagos lamented the rejection of corps members deployed to companies and parastatals for their mandatory service year. Just as he also suggested that quarterly orientation programme be adopted for corps members as against the one done every four months.
Dalong who spoke during the inspection of NYSC camp at Ipaja and at Surulere, Lagos said: “The rejection of corps members by both private and government organisations is highly regrettable.” He said that circulars have been sent to various organisations to accept corps members into their organizations because they are on national service.
Relating his experience he said: “One of the instances I met on ground here (Lagos) was that the corps member was irregularly rejected because she was not given a letter from the company to indicate that she was rejected. “Her deployment letter was officially stamped by Nigeria Port Authority without date after which they sent her back without explanation.”
According to him, organisations are suppose to accept this corps members and put them to use, adding that if the corps members have over stretch their facilities, they should write and indicate such in their correspondences and not to sent the corps member away without explanation. He maintained that Corps members should not be rejected on lack of good reasons.
The Minister who frowned at a situation where people choose to accept corps members based on certain erroneous sentiments said that many times, considerations are given to people based on who you know. ” This is against the spirit of the scheme itself,” he said. He explained that the scheme is intended to build confidence in Nigerians, to promote national integration and national unity adding, “when corps members are rejected based on certain consideration, it negates the fundamental principles of the scheme”
Meanwhile, the Minister also suggested to the director general, NYSC, General Johnson Olawumi that orientation camp should be quarterly. He explained that when the scheme was created, the initiator never took into consideration that there will come a time in Nigeria when the output of graduates will be far above the initial contemplation.
“Base on numbers of graduates every year, it is good we start thinking of how we will adopt a quarterly orientation programme. He said: “With the increase of tertiary institutions in Nigeria, if we do not adopt the quarterly orientation programme now, a time will come when the upsurge of graduates will over match the capacity.”
Speaking in the same vein, the Director General, NYSC, General Johnson Olawumi who was present at the occasion said he was pleased with the advice of the Minister, noting that he will work toward the actualisation of the initiative

15 Farmers Killed In Fresh Fulani, Agatu Clash

By     No comments:

No fewer than 15 Agatu farmers were killed by unidentified Fulani men in the Udeni Ruwa district of Nasarawa State, while five others were drowned as they tried to escape during the clash.

It was learnt that the suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded two settlements in the Udeni Ruwa district on Sunday night, burning down scores of houses in the area.

But the Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, Ismaila Umaru, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent in a telephone interview in Lafia, the state capital, said seven people were killed and scores of houses were burned during the attack.

According to him, the attack on Agatu farmers was a reprisal by the Fulani herdsmen who took their cows for grazing in the area. He said this followed a report that three Fulani herdsmen were missing.

He said, “There was a report that three of the Fulani cattle rearers who took their cows for grazing on Agatu farm got missing, while the corpse of one of the Fulani men was found.”

The police spokesperson, however, added that the command had already deployed its men to the scene of the event to avoid a break down of law and order.

“The command had already sent additional reinforcement of security agents to the area and normalcy had since returned. There was no arrest so far made by the police in the state,” he added.

A source, who did not want his name to be mentioned, said that the invaders who launched an attack on Okpaya, a riverine village, were Fulani herdsmen.

According to the source, the attackers burnt a part of Udeni Ruwa and killed 15 persons. He said five of the victims were from Okpaya and the 10 others were from Udeni Ruwa.

“My brother, it is unfortunate. Fulani people attacked Okpaya and killed five of our people. They burnt down the entire village and attacked some persons in Udeni.

“They killed three people and all of us from Okpaya ran to neighbouring villages. The most annoying part is that a family man lost his wife and three children while they were on their way to Loko, through a boat,” the source lamented.

The source added that the attackers invaded Okpaya village at night around 11pm on Sunday. He said the entire village was razed by the attackers.

Udeni Ruwa district is the boundary between Nasarawa and Benue states.

Following the incident, residents from nearby villages of Ogoboh, Akum, Kpandera, Akpanaja and Amaku are now living in fear.

Already, some have relocated their children and their aged relatives to neighbouring communities.

"Nigeria's Democracy May Break With The Arrest Of Olisa Metuh" - PDP

By     No comments:

Following the arrest of the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Chief Olisa Metuh, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the party's national leadership has demanded his immediate release. This was contained in a statement by Prof. Adewale Oladipo, the National Secretary of the party.

Read statement below:

This development, which did not come to us as a surprise given series of threats to our party’s spokesman by the APC and the Federal Government, who are obviously not comfortable with our stance on the confused state of the nation under their watch, is a continuation of APC’s grand design to silence and decimate the PDP.

The arrest of Chief Metuh today underscores the growing political intolerance in our country and the foisting of a police state which was last Wednesday underscored by the President and Commander-in-Chief himself, who defended why a government in a democracy should flout constitutional provision and brazenly disobey court orders.

This onslaught against our spokesman, according to intelligence available to us is part of a larger script by the government to ensure that PDP wings are finally clipped in their mission to install a dictatorial one-party state in the country.

The excesses of security agencies under this government, especially the Directorate of Security Services (DSS) and the EFCC, in abridging the human rights of PDP members have become worrisome and a threat to our democratic evolution.

Nigerians and the international community will recall that on a number of occasions, the PDP, through its spokesman has been outspoken on some undemocratic proclivities being exhibited by the APC-led Federal Government in the last seven months.

The PDP insists that for whatever reason Chief Metuh was arrested, his rights as a citizen under the law must not be trampled upon. We therefore demand for his immediate release and that due process of investigation and prosecution concerning him should be strictly adhered to.

We state this because we have been made aware of top directives to break Chief Metuh and if possible poison him during his detention by the EFCC. Chief Metuh, has since his arrest at about 10 am, has been kept incommunicado, with his lawyers denied access to him.

The PDP declares the arrest of our spokesman as the last straw that may break our democracy. We therefore forewarn the Federal Government and its agencies to save our democracy and forthwith release our National Publicity Secretary.

We are also calling on the international community and well-meaning Nigerians to stand up for this democracy, which our party nurtured for 16 years and deepened to a level where the opposition, for the first time in our political history, had the opportunity to win in a general election.

Soldiers Raped Our Members Before Killing Them – Shiite Women

By     No comments:

Female members of the Shiite Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, yesterday alleged that soldiers raped their members before killing them, in December clash between the Nigeria Army and the movement.

Addressing a Press Conference in Kaduna yesterday under the banner of Sisters Forum of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, the forum called on the Federal Government to release their leader, sheik Ibrahim Zakzaky, his wife and other members with immediate effect.

The secretary of the forum, Hajiya Aisha Hassan who addressed the press said: “It is now over three weeks since the Nigerian Army launched a brutal attack on members of the, IMN, that killed over one thousand people in Zaria after over 27 hours of indiscriminate shooting and bombing.

“This is not talking about those who have been given mass burial by the Army or even corpses burnt, amongst whom are women and children, some of the women have even been raped before they were killed by the soldiers as confirmed by some survivors who were also tortured after their arrest by the Army.

“The soldiers molested our women and removed their hijab which is a serious violation of Islamic right..

“Although we are aware that it is a deliberate attempt to intimidate and instigate us into mob actions, we will never resort to anything outside the normal legal process of seeking redress. This is evident in the way we acted last year when the same Nigerian Army attacked our members and killed 34 of them including three biological sons of our leader, Sayyid Zakzaky.

“Despite this display of inhumanity and gross violation of fundamental human rights, to which no remorse was shown by the state authorities for what was undoubtedly a war crime against fellow Nigerians, the homes, Islamic centers and graves of the victims have been demolished with graves dug up and desecrated.

“These demonic acts perpetrated by Nigerian Army has not only raised the Army’s human rights abuse records but has also turned a lot of women into widows, children into orphans and has also succeeded in wiping out a lot of families.
“We call for immediate and unconditional release of our revered leader his Eminence Sheikh El-Zakzaky (H), and his wife.

“We call for the release of our husbands and children that are in illegal detention facilities across the northern states.

“Corpses of our members killed by the Army should be released to us with immediate effect for burials according to Islamic rites.
“We call on the government to summon courage and live up to its morality and accept its crime by paying diyyah to all affected families and relations,” it said.
