Nigeria Will Soon Run Out Of New Medical Doctor If NUC Insist On The 11 Years Duration

By     No comments:

This Issue is a very serious one I must tell you, If The Government should dare keep quiet on this Issue and the 11 Years for Medical student is dare approved, Nigeria is in Trouble.
The mentality of 90% Nigerian secondary school graduate is to gain admission into the university and within 4years complete the degree and get a good job, No slacking..
The Number of student who wants to study Medicine compare to other courses has always been very minimal over the years, Increasing the duration of the Programme will only result to students not even choosing the course while sitting for Jamb anymore.
11 years then 1 year of compulsory NYSC = 12 years for a single degree?
In few years, Am sure NUC will regret ever making this unnecessary move if the 11 years duration is been sealed.
What do you guys think about this?
Drop your comments on this.

Sister of late doctor killed in accident caused by Ibinabo Fiberesima writes, says Justice at last!

By     No comments:

Biola Giwa-Adeyemi is late Dr Giwa's sister and she wanted to shed more light on the case between Ibinabo Fiberersima Vs Lagos State. Read what she sent in below...
First of all, the case was between Lagos state Government Vs Ibinabo Febresima but not Giwa Vs Ibinabo Febresima. On this faithful day of Feb 26th 2006 along the Lekki Epe Express way, my late brother Dr Giwa was driving with his brother and another family friend in his car coming from a meeting in Ajah, they were held up in a traffic around the evening time, when this tragic accident happened.

Ibinabo was driving towards Lekki while the late Dr Giwa was coming from the other direction facing towards Island, just by shop-rite, when ibinabo's jeep flipped and lost control from her lane jumped over the culvert or pavement  that demarcate the road from the on coming vehicle. The speed that skipped and flipped a jeep  over the road demarcation will be considered "Reckless and Endangerment" because the VIO dept checked the jeep brakes, the engine and all the mechanical and electrical of the jeep but the result shows nothing wrong with the jeep and confirm that the accident as due to "OVER SPEEDING" in which the result was on record.

After the accident, Ibinabo left the scene of the accident without checking for any survivors, she took the license plate and registration out of the car and fled from the scene, that was considered "HIT AND RUN". The people at the scene of the accident recognized her as Ibinabo Febresima, and stated she was drunk."Driving Under Influence" of whatever she had. The State Department of Transportation has to use the VIN number to locate the Owner of the jeep, in which the owner was Daniel Wilson. That was my very first time of hearing the name of Ibinabo Febresima. The Doctor died at the scene of the accident because the jeep was on top of the Honda accord driven by him and they couldn't save him on time because of the seat belt and the weight of the jeep, the brother and the other family friend in that car had survived. Did she know the state of mind and the emotional instability of the people involved in that accident up till now, Ibinabo has never been in a Comma.
After all the evidences against her, with the result of the VIO by the State department of Transportation, The DPP office took over and charged her to court and she hired Festus Kiamo in which after reviewing the case he withdrew by saying he cannot represent her because it's a bad case.

Doctor Giwa has a living mother for goodness sake, wife with 3 children's, Ibinabo deprived him from seeing his children graduate from university and getting married, also from being the one to bury his mother at her old age, "Whereas no one ever prayed that on the day of their children's success and happiness they should replaced them with someone else".
Ibinabo was never remorseful, they brought her to meet with me shortly after my brother's death in GRA Ikeja before my return back to the USA, but her only concern then was to drop the charges against her. I told her that it's not my family Vs her but the State Vs her, that where I come from in USA that we do not interfere with the justice system, that they should do their job and advise her to apologize publicly to the masses and to the family and throw herself to the mercy of the court. She said and l quote "I CAN'T DO THAT, BECAUSE IS GOING TO DAMAGE MY CAREER" what an ego, she cannot apologize publicly, I feel like kicking her ass. She's worried about her stupid career, What happened to the career of the Doctor, who happened to be a 'MEDICAL DIRECTOR AND THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL REHABILITATION MEDICINE AT GENERAL HOSPITAL LAGOS.
People say there is no justice in Nigeria, but it does once in awhile. The lower court magistrate O.A Isaac found her guilty with the option of 100,000.00 Naira, which is considered a judicial recklessness, 100k does not even buy an iPad, the life of someone does not worth more that 100k, so that people will take the liberty of committing crimes.  Later Justice Deborah Oluwayemi of the High court find her guilty and overturn the option of fine and gave her 5 yrs in prison, she spent 3 weeks and came out on bail to go to Court of Appeal, however, how can a convicted person came out on bail, here in USA you will be in jail and they will transport you to and from each time you have an hearing. Finally Appeal court found her guilty and sentence her to 5 years imprisoned.
Let her face the wrath, it is said that you can run but can't hide, it's a law of Kama that catch up, This will serve as a deterrent to others. Who will believe after 10yrs she will still be slammed, The Family of the late Dr Giwa had moved on with our life's, She was forgiven, it was very difficult and painful, but God gave us especially his mother and children the fortitude to bear the loss.
On behalf of our families and friends, we really thank the Lagos State Government, The attorney general Mr Sasore, DPP Mrs Odutola and colleagues, Justice Deborah Oluwayemi, Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur, Justice U.I Udukwe-Anyawu and Justice Tijani Abubakar and everyone for their support, no evil shall befall anyone, as you all go out and come in, may God's grace and protection abide with each and everyone. 'JUSTICE AT LAST' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  JUSTICE AT LAST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  JUSTICE IS FINALLY DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!.
"IBINABO HAS NEVER PAID A DIME TO ANY FAMILY MEMBER OF THE LATE DR GIWA AS INDICATED BY HER FRIEND'S, AND IF SHE DID PAY ANY FAMILY MEMBER, SHE NEEDS TO START MENTIONING NAMES NOW".

'Buhari lacks the capacity to rule Nigeria' - Professor Nwabueze

By     No comments:

Professor Ben Nwabueze, a renowed Lawyer and President of the Patriots, a revered group of Elder statesmen in Nigeria, says President Buhari lacks the intellectual capacity to rule a complex country like Nigeria. Nwabueze said this in an interview with The Sun newspaper.
"I do not think that it is a question of not being prepared. Don't forget that the 2015 election was his fourth time of contesting, of making an attempt at being President. He tried to be president for 12 years. So, he had more than enough time to prepare himself if he had the capacity. So, it is not that he was not prepared. The fact is that he lacks the capacity to govern as the problems are beyond him.
Even if you give him 20 years to prepare, it would still be beyond his capacity. Nigeria is a very complex country. I have told you before, that we have 389 ethnic nationalities. The complexities and the issues involved in ruling such a country are huge. Leading such a complex country is an intellectual issue and Buhari does not have the intellectual capacity to comprehend what it means to govern the country"he said

we'll demand N10m from Oliseh - NFF

By     No comments:

The Nigerian Football Federation has frowned at the constant accusations being leveled at the football federation by former coach Sunday Oliseh in the wake of his recent decision to withdraw his legal suit against the NFF.

The NFF in it's part has decided to review it's legal notes and serve Sunday Oliseh with letters asking him to refund the N5m paid him in lieu of his accommodation in Nigeria, and the February 2016 salary (N5m) that should serve in lieu of his one month notice of resignation.

Chairman of the NFF Technical Committee, Chris Green rejected claims by Oliseh that the NFF imposed players on him saying even the former technical committee chairman Felix Anyasi-Agwu didn't impose players on Oliseh. Green also said Oliseh loved the media attention being given to him buth that the NFF would soon serve him legal papers.

“I can vouch for Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who was chairman of the committee before me, that he is not that type of person. I was made chairman on January 16 and travelled to Rwanda on January 17, when the team for the CHAN had been composed.''  Green said to VanguardSports.

The Super Eagles have not played any match since CHAN. So, when did we have time to try and impose players on him?
“We are not in anyway moved by his vituperations. He claims we did not provide him information with regards to Egypt, but how come we have been able to provide Siasia with the same? He should respect himself and move on.”
“We welcomed Oliseh with so much warmth and so much regard for his person. It is sad that he has failed to reciprocate, even at departure. He is simply full of too much talk.
“He should stop leapfrogging into unfamiliar territories, such as his mention of capacity –building program. That program was fully sponsored by corporate bodies and was never at the expense of anyone’s benefits.”
“How much he put Nigeria first in everything he did show in the way he abandoned ship with only weeks to crucial games.
“It is clear he wants to remain in the news for no other reason than to distract the NFF and the team from concentrating on these two crucial matches. It is very easy for people to grandstand and claim to be more patriotic and altruistic than others, but the true test remains what such people do when the chips are down.
“Oliseh showed a lack of heart in the way he left. And he was purely grandstanding when claiming some persons spoke to him to drop a law suit, when he knew from the beginning that he had no case.”

Read Bukola Saraki's comment on the rejected Gender and Equal Opportunity bill, says it will be re-presented to the senate

By     No comments:

Senate President Bukola Saraki, says the Gender and Equal Opportunity Bill which was rejected by the senate yesterday March 15th, will be re-presented at the Senate by Senator Biodun Olujimi who introduced it.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Gender issues, Fatima Kakuri, Saraki said the bill had some grey areas which many of the senators rejected due to religious and traditional belief. He said he had it on good authority that Senator Olujimi will be representing the bill once it is re-drafted.

His statement below
"Today, we discussed the Domestication of the Provisions of the United Nations Convention Eliminating all forms of discrimination against women under A Bill For An Act To Incorporate and Enforce Certain Provisions of The United Nations Convention On The Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women – the protocol to the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa, and Other Matters Connected Therewith. As I said during the International Womens Day last week, I am of the opinion that there are substantial parts of the bill that are crucial to the development of our nation such as the Equal Access to Education, strengthening of the laws on Violence against Women, Ending Abduction of girls, Sustenance and Promotion of Entrepreneurship opportunities, Gender Mainstreaming and Gender equality, female participation in governance, among others. Unfortunately, the bill suffered a slight set back because there were some parts of the Bill that some Senators disagreed with along the lines of religion and tradition. The beauty of democracy is that it gives us the opportunity to consider different opinions and this bill can still be represented and reconsidered on the floor of the Senate I have it on good authority that Senator Biodun Olujimi who introduced this bill will reintroduce it after re-drafting it to address some of the reservations that were expressed on the floor of the Senate".

Why You Should Always Choose Bananas With Dark Spots Than The Fresh Ones

By     No comments:

I know normally when you want to buy bananas you will keep checking till you get the freshest one amongst others. No one will like to take those ones with dark patches and colouration. But hey, based on the nutritional values, research has proved it that that banana with black patches all over it's body is far more healthier than the the normal fresh one.

NOW SEE WHY.

according to the latest japanese research, a full ripe banana with dark patches on they yellow skin produces a substance called TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR (TNF) which has the ability to combat abnormal cells.

The more darker patches it has the higher it's immunity enhancement quality. Hence the riper the banana the Better the anti-cancer quality. A yellow skin banana with dark spots on it is 8x more effective in enhancing the property of white blood cells than a green skin type.
So after reading this, no more freshness when choosing a banana but how much dark spots/patches it has on it's body.

Why Fuel Scarcity May Persist —NUPENG

By     No comments:

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, has said that the ongoing fuel scarcity in the country may persist until the Federal Government takes effective action on petroleum products availability.
The declaration comes even as independent oil marketers and other private petroleum products operators insist that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, is running a monopolistic system.
President of NUPENG, Comrade Igwe Achese, told Vanguard, “Clearly from the perspective of our own study, in as much we are concerned with the current situation we find ourselves, scarcity will continue. However, like we rightly said, if Federal Government is having a political will to address these issues, definitely, we will get out of this quagmire. For now, I’m sure we will still continue to find ourselves in where we are.
“NNPC, through its Products and Pipeline Marketing Company, PPMC, subsidiary is trying everything possible to see that this scarcity issue is resolved, but it also requires the commitment of all stakeholders.”
Regarding the loading of products at the depots of PPMC and other marketers, he argued that, “It is not an issue of Capital Oil, or Mosimi, it is an issue of the process. We need to change our approach, we need to change our structure in terms of the way and manner we carry out these operations.”

Ex Gov. Peter Obi Set To Reconcile P'square

By     No comments:

Former governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi has waded into the disagreement between Peter and Paul Okoye of the P Square fame.
The former governor is set to broker peace between the two brothers.

DAILY POsT gathered that Obi was highly ‘disappointed’ with the way the two singers were washing their dirty linen in the public.

An insider hinted our reporter that the former Anambra State governor called the brothers separately on Monday to advise them against making a decision that will ruin their career and family for life.

The Okoye brothers, who hail from Anambra State, according to our source are expected to meet with their former governor this week for possible reconciliation.

“There’s still hope. Chief Obi was highly disappointed when the news of their break up got to him. He called both of them separately, including Jude, not to allow outsiders come between them. He reminded them of the old African adage that says, blood is thicker than water,” the source said.

Asked what was the response of the fighting brothers, the source added, “they will meet with Okute (Obi) this week in Abuja.”

The repatriated funds is excluding the $321million (about N63.24 billion) which the Swiss authorities will be repatriated to Nigeria soon. The agreement, titled “Letter of Intent on the restitution of illegally-acquired assets forfeited in Switzerland,” was signed by Nigeria’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and the Swiss Head of Foreign Affairs Department, Didier Burkhalter.
