My Hit Song ‘Johnny’ Was Released By Mistake – Yemi Alade

Amazing performer, Yemi Alade, needs little or no introduction.

The MAMA Africa crooner, in a new interview with Sunday Scoop, revealed that her hit track Johnny, which set hearts racing, body moving and recognition increasing, was actually released by mistake.

According to Miss Alade, if the song had not first been leaked online, she may never have released it.

In her words:

“I was in the studio with Selebobo and we were just goofing around trying to come up with a nice sound. The first line for the song just came out playfully and I continued. I never thought that it would become a hit and if not that the song was leaked, I may never have released it.”
Miss Alade, also talked about her heritage, saying being Igbo and Yoruba, is of great advantage to her.

“You cannot underestimate the importance and role of tribes in Nigeria as it is taken very seriously. I am very proud of my heritage as an African and I try to portray in every way that I can and everywhere I go. Being partly Yoruba and Igbo is a big plus for me as it has helped me to connect with both cultures. However, I believe that both cultures are inextricably intertwined because they share a lot of similarities,” she said.

The General Overseer of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has revealed that Nigeria will breakup in 2043.

He also predicted that the ruling All Progressives Congress will ‘tear’ into three factions, adding that the Northern Governors’ Forum of the party will break.

Releasing his prophesies on Nigeria, Africa and the world in general, Primate Ayodele told Sun that President Muhammadu Buhari may not finish his first term in office.

Begging Has No Basis In Islam, Says Sultan Of Sokoto

Sa’ad Abubakar, sultan of Sokoto, says begging has no basis in Islam, challenging those engaging in the act to find legitimate means of earning a living.

Abubakar made the remark in Sokoto at the graduation of 2,000 women trained in various skills by Mairo Tambuwal, wife of the governor. The training, which was conducted in collaboration with the state Zakkat and Endowment Commission, had participants from the 86 districts of the state.

“Our women should always desist from street begging, as it has no base in Islam and it only generates more harm than good among the society,” he said.

“Women have always been the pillars for any societal development, so we need to do more in encouraging and supporting their living standard in order to yield a better society.

“Moreover, empowering women is one of the positive base to a better, secured and productive society.”

He commended Tambuwal for initiating the programme and admonished the beneficiaries to utilise the opportunity to enhace their livelihood.

Earlier, the governor’s wife had expressed appreciation to the sultanate council, the state government and Zakkat commission for supporting the initiative.

She said that the training was principally to make women in the state self reliant.

Tambuwal who was represented at the occasion, called on the beneficiaries to apply the new skills they acquired to uplift their economic status and contribute to the overall development of the state.

I WANT TO REMAIN CHEALSE COACH FOR A LONG TIME - ANTONIO CONTE

Antonio Conte says he plans to stay at Chelsea for a long time amid talk of a move back to Serie A.

Sky in Italy understand Inter Milan are interested in Conte, who joined Chelsea last summer from the Italy national team and previously guided Juventus to three straight league titles.

He has enjoyed a spectacular start to his career in England, guiding Chelsea to the top of the Premier League with seven games of the season remaining.

They sit seven points clear of second-place Tottenham ahead of a Super Sunday clash with Man Utd and Conte insists he hopes to build on his early success at Stamford Bridge.

“I hope to stay for a long time here,” Conte told Sky Sports. “Coaching is not an easy job and a lot depends on the results.

“I like to think results are important, but they are not everything. I think for every coach our work is important every day and then to be judged.

“During the game I think I show my passion and my will to not lose. I don’t want to lose. I love football and I think people understand my passion. It’s great to know that Chelsea fans are happy with me.”

Having guided Italy to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016, Conte moved to London and admits he was initially wary of starting fresh in a new country.

“I was worried at the start because it’s not easy and when you arrive and find a situation totally different,” he added. “To transfer your ideas, your philosophy, to the training sessions, wasn’t easy.

“We needed a bit of time for me to adapt and for the players to adapt to my philosophy. I always saw great commitment from the players and great work-rate and attitude.”

Looters Have More Money Than The Federal, State And Local Government Combined – Lai Mohammed

The Federal Government said in Abuja on Sunday, that there were indications that looters have more money in their possession than all tiers of government.

It however hailed its whistle-blower policy, which has led to the recovery of looted funds in many currencies that he said might otherwise not have been discovered, describing it as an effective tool of fighting corruption in Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the policy had also shown the depth of support among Nigerians for the fight against corruption.

He therefore thanked Nigerians for the enthusiasm and commitment that he said they had shown in helping the government to tackle what he described as “the hydra-headed monster of corruption ” through the useful leads they had been providing to appropriate government agencies.

According to him, ”Since we launched the whistle-blower policy, we have received immeasurable support from Nigerians.

“Yes, there is monetary reward for any information that leads to recovery of looted funds, but from what we have seen, most of the Nigerians who have come forward with useful leads were driven by patriotism rather than reward.

”Nigerians, fired by a fervid resolve to help banish corruption from their country, have daily inundated the offices of the appropriate government agencies with valuable information.

“We have been told how looters have resorted to burying stolen funds in their backyards, in deep forests and even in burial grounds.

”Thanks to whistle-blowers, it is now clear that a rapacious few have pillaged the nation’s wealth through a vicious orgy of corrupt practices.”
Mohammed expressed appreciation to Nigerians for providing formation.

He said, “Thanks to the useful information provided by Nigerians, it is now obvious that more funds are in the possession of looters than are available to government at all levels to meets its obligations, including paying workers’ salaries, providing social amenities, upgrading infrastructure and ensuring the security of lives and property.

”As the looters continue to run helter-skelter, many of them are even abandoning their booty at unusual places, including airports.

“We want to assure Nigerians that we will not abandon this policy for whatever reason. Instead, we will continue to rejig it to make it more effective as a tool for fighting corruption.”
He said the recovered looted funds are safe, adding that as soon as the necessary reconciliation process and the litigation in some of the cases are concluded, the government will give a full account of the funds to Nigerians.

Mohammed re-assured Nigerians who have useful information on looted funds that the government will protect their identities and also ensure that they get the stipulated reward for their efforts.

Plane's Engine Still Echoes In My Ears - Benin Stowaway Boy All Grown Up

On Saturday, August 24, 2013, 13-year-old Daniel Ohikhena, from Owan, Edo State, stowed from Benin Airport to Lagos in the wheel well of Arik flight W3 544. When the flight landed at the Lagos Airport, security agents and passengers aboard the flight were shocked to see the boy creeping out of one of the wheels of the aircraft. The security agents and passengers thought he was a ghost until they found that the boy stowed to Lagos. Daniel told journalists then that he thought the flight was going to America as he wanted to travel outside Nigeria.

Benin stowaway boy, Daniel and mother
However, that silly move he made gave him the opportunity of being in school today, after then Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State adopted Daniel and gave him scholarship. Daniel, whose parents are separated, is from a very poor home and confessed that one of the things that motivated him into that dangerous adventure was his dream to be a pilot. He is 16 years old now and in SS 1 in Edo College, Benin-City. On holidays, Sunday Vanguard ran into Daniel, last week, where he was assisting his mother, who is into petty trading, at the Oba market. He is taller now and more mature.

Luckily for Daniel, the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki continued, sponsoring his education and other children popularly referred to as Oshiomhole’s children. That can be said to be one of the positive aspects of continuity in government. Oshiomhole’s handing over to Obaseki, also from his party, the APC, means there is hope for these children, about twenty of them. Some of the Oshiomhole adopted children are in universities across the country. As a matter of fact, some of the kids include the ones the state government brought back to Edo from Borno when Boka Haram insurgency raged. Some of them had lost their parents but Oshiomhole sent three luxury buses to the North to bring back these Edo indigenes languishing then in refugee camps.

Meanwhile, Daniel, in a chat with Sunday Vanguard, stated that during the governorship election, he prayed that Oshiomhole’s candidate should win “because I was scared that if the PDP took power, they will stop my scholarship”. The former stowaway boy continued: “And thank God Obaseki won and since he came in, he has been doing his best for me. I am very fine at school. He has been paying my school fees and I am very grateful.

I thank him for continuing with my scholarship and God will bless him. But I want to see him and thank him personally”. Asked about his school work and ambition to be a pilot, Daniel said: “ My school has teachers who are well trained. Gov. Ohsiomhole rehabilitated our school and recruited good teachers who have been doing very well. In fact, my school is better than most private schools which big men’s children attend. I like the school and enjoy my studies. I am a member of the school cricket team and I am doing very well. I am a science student and I am good in computer studies. I wanted to be a pilot but I think I will do better in computer engineering. I have been told that I can still do piloting after becoming a computer engineer”.

Recalling his experience inside the wheel that day he stowed away, Daniel stated: “I was 13 years then when I entered the wheel well of the plane. Each time I see a plane flying, I always look at it and remember what I did. In fact, now, I feel stupid each time I remember that incident but I believe God wanted it to be that way. If not, I would not have gotten this scholarship and I am from a poor home. My mother is struggling to train us including my siblings and it has not been easy. But thank God, after what happened, our governor then, Comrade Oshiomhole, gave me scholarship after he invited me to his office. Governor Oshiomhole helped me that time. He discovered me and told me that I should work hard so that I could achieve all I want in life. He gave me a chance to be educated and I am very grateful to him.

“I always discuss the issue with my friends in school and some of them wished they were me. Whichever way you look at it, I have entered the plane before but most of them have not. So sometimes I feel proud of what I did and sometimes I feel stupid when I was told that I could have died in the incident”. Told that the wheel well of the plane is always hot, and whether he felt the heat, he replied: “It was not hot really. The temperature was normal. I was really not scared of anything because I was determined to travel out. The only thing is that I now have one challenge in my ears due to the noise from the engines of the plane. It is like the noise still echoes in my ears giving me the impression that I may have problems with my ears.

“The only issue I want to appeal to Governor Obaseki now is that I want to see him and thank him. He is a good father. Again I want to beg him to help my mother. We don’t have a home right now because my mum can’t pay house rent. The landlord is threatening to give us quit notice. And now that I am on holidays, I am scared of where to stay. Each time we are at home, the landlord will come with a lawyer and they will be harassing my mum over house rent. It is really disturbing. I want to appeal to Governor Obaseki to help my mum in that regard. And I still want to travel outside Nigeria to further my education and learn more. I want to grow up as a responsible man so that I can help my mother.

We are four in the family and it is hard for my mum to pay my sisters’ school fees. She is into petty trading and after she manages to give us food, it is always difficult to pay house rent and school fees for my sisters. I wish my mother is doing a big business that would have helped her to provide well for us. So I really want to do something extra for myself and that is why I will be happy to go to a place where I can be schooling and working to make money and help the family”.

Emir Sanusi Is An Enemy Of Islam - Yari's Aide Zamfara State Governor

Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, has again tackled the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, for criticising his response to the outbreak of meningitis.

”The Emir, and all he wants to do is ride a Rolls Royce in the face of palpable poverty; he shouldn’t engage in throwing accusations at others”, Yari lambasted in a statement on Saturday.

The lengthy tirade Saturday accused the emir of hypocrisy, and advised him to “practise what he preaches” or “keep his peace”.

Below is the governor’s full statement signed by Ibrahim Dosara, his special adviser on communication.

“For those who consider the emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II to be anything but a first class intellectual, a consummate banker and a bona fide member of Nigeria’s royalty, the last couple of weeks were a dizzying spectacle of mixed messages on integrity, royalty and wisdom.

Within a perimeter of weeks, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, whose royal tentacles and social networks traverse the length and breadth of this country, lambasted the nation’s economic framework, the northern elite, sub-national leadership especially the governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, and the traditional institution of marriage.

All frontiers that we hold so dear.

With due respect to our highly revered traditional institutions and royal fathers, as a blue-blooded family member himself, Hon Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar holds the emir in very high esteem. He believes that the emir as a brother and co-occupant of elite positions in Nigeria, he could advise governors and those in positions of authority in several chains of communication that are richly available to him. But he preferred the public platform, for reasons best known to him.

Governor Yari firmly believes that a country that goes to its pastors and Imams who recommend prayer and fasting as the solution to every social misfortune, from matrimonial disagreements, to social and economic complications needs to be wary of the wrath of God in the event of an epidemic of unquantifiable proportion such as Type C meningitis. And as a country that succumbs to the supremacy of Allah, we must continue to link Him with all things, fair or foul.

Those who want to equate science with God, like HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, can denounce Yari’s statement from the rooftops but that will not change Governor Yari’s beliefs in the omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence of Allah.

By a certain bizarre coincidence too, like a prophesy foretold, Sheikh Mahmood Jaafar had before he was assassinated named Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as one of those whose hypocrisy would bring an epidemic of monumental proportions to this country. The tapes are very much in circulation long after Sheikh Jaafar’s death.
He had argued in that sermon that “Sanusi Lamido is one of the enemies of Islam who would assume all traits of a good Muslim but deep inside them is a hatred of Islam, and the people far beyond human imagination.” Could this be a prophecy foretold?

However, the emir should be aware that Allah who gives power to whoever He wills at His own time, also takes it away at the most inauspicious time. As elected officials, we are obliged to serve people just as we serve God. Within this precinct Governor Yari has done his best. As representatives of the best of our traditions, our Emirs, chiefs, kings and queens are also obliged to lead by example, show empathy, adjudicate with compassion, display wisdom and embrace the fear of God, in all they do. In this HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II is struggling.

Recently, our erudite emir has been mired in several controversies, which rather than enhance his profile and the integrity of royalty, have put him very much on the spot. And the emir has put up a spirited defense of all the allegations against him. But he was not transparent enough, as he always accused officials, especially governors, to tell the public what he found in the Kano Emirate palace coffers when he ascended the exalted throne. This is the least of his people’s expectations of him. It was the first that our finest royalty would offer.

Sacrifice is another attribute known to our royal fathers. But when an emir pledges to commit his hard earned resources for the face-lifting of the palace where he alone would reside and eventually transfers the burden to his impoverished subjects, there is a breach, or a problem.

Late Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki, of blessed memory, used his money to rebuild the Sultan’s Palace in Sokoto to his taste, but until his demise, he never tendered the bill to his subjects for reimbursement.

Over time, we know our traditional fathers for their compassion. When their friends from far and near offer to assist them, they would rather the assistance was given to alleviate the sufferings of their people in cash or kind.

But for a traditional ruler who identifies the problems of his people and utters these words: “We are in denial. The north-west and the north-east, demographically, constitute the bulk of Nigeria’s population, but look at human development indices, look at the number of children out of school, look at adult literacy, look at maternal mortality, look at infant mortality, look at girl-child completion rate, look at income per capita… The north-east and the north-west Nigeria are among the poorest parts of the world,” and yet when his friends offered help, he asks for a Rolls Royce.

There is more than a fundamental problem. There is a big disconnect. Like Governor Yari has always said, his respect for our creator will never waver. He will also rue joining issues with royalty, in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. He maintains that his reverence of the institution that HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II represents is also unshaken.

Hon Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar is only asking HRH to either practice what he preaches or forever keep his peace, because in a situation where epidemics are taking our children, maternal mortality, uneducated youth, social vices and incompetent leaders are the national scourge, to borrow the words of the emir, and all he wants to do is ride a Rolls Royce in the face of palpable poverty, he shouldn’t engage in throwing accusations at others.

Kano kingdom is an important kingdom amongst the kingdoms in Africa. It is also an important and strategic institution in the history of Nigeria. The occupants of the seat before HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II played a significant and dignified role in making Nigeria what it is today. They respected themselves. HRH should emulate his predecessors and not play to the gallery in a manner that ridicules his own heritage”.

In is words with Sunday Scoop, Malcolm said:

“It is a big fat lie that I dumped Bisola at the altar; there was nothing like that. In fact, I’m still looking for the person who wrote that story online because it is malicious. We split because we had some personality traits that could not complement each other and there was never any marriage.”

“I think she was able to go there, represent herself well and also showcase her talent. She was lively and full of fun while in the house and I guess that’s what viewers want.”

“She is a grown woman and whatever she did on the show is her business.”

He also said that their daughter, Leyla hasn’t really said much about the show, but “naturally, she’s happy that her mother won.”

Responding to a question on whether they would still get back together, Malcolm said

"Buhari, Stop Fighting Corruption" - Prophet Ayodele

Popular seer, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele is General Overseer of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church with headquarters in Oke-Afa, Lagos.

Hitherto, he warned President Mohammadu Buhari about his health, predicted economic recession, the fluctuation of the exchange rate and xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

He predicted the crisis in PDP and forewarned the country of the dreaded meningitis in the North, which has claimed hundreds of lives in recent days.
In this interview with Sunday Sun in Ekiti, he made shocking revelations about Nigeria, Africa and the world generally.

Can we start with your Easter message for Nigeria sir?

I want to urge Nigerians to be more prayerful for President Buhari for God to grant him quick and thorough recovery. We should celebrate this Easter with love for one another and help the poor.
In our church, we are empowering 500 indigent people, including students and widows. God has also blessed us as we are expanding the church auditorium to accommodate over 8,000 worshippers.

What has God shown you about party politics and power play ahead of 2019?

The APC should beware of a crack in the party that would tear it into three factions.
If care is not taken and the PDP fails to properly reconcile their warring factions, the Supreme Court judgment may favour Ali Modu Sheriff.
The northern arm of the APC Governorship Forum may break. President Buhari may not have the capacity to contest in 2019 while there would be so many candidates contesting. We should even be very prayerful for him to complete his first term.
We need prayers so that democracy would not cause problems in Nigeria. The military should beware and strategize against some serious bombing of strategic places in the country.
We have predicted the rancor rocking the NASS, but I want to say that the current trouble in the Assembly is not over as there are more crises ahead in the two legislative houses. A lot of unprecedented political chaos, scheming, machinations and manipulations would play out in the 2019 general elections.
Whether the powers that be want it or not, I foresee a very big referendum coming, in which all issues troubling the soul of Nigeria would be tackled.
This referendum would decide along three main lines among others, on the dire need for us to have true federalism, return to regionalism which thrived and facilitated progress shortly after the colonial masters left or lead us into a breakup.
Already we are working towards breaking up and I tell you, it’s only prayers that can prevent Nigeria from breaking up in 2043. Mark my words.
Details of these predictions are in the 2017/2018 edition of my annual book of prophecy titled, Warnings to the Nations, which would be launched in July.

Why has this present government failed in many of its promises to Nigerians?

Those who are troubling Nigeria have populated Buhari’s government. They are even the ones in charge. They are pretending to be friends to Buhari but they are indeed enemies and do not want him to succeed. If we pray fervently, the Lord will expose and disgrace them.

You predicted that Trump’s presidency would come with dire consequences, now he is attacking some countries, are we likely to have a third world war?

Just as we have forewarned, the government of President Donald Trump would create lots of problem in the world, although there won’t be a third world war but there will be challenges here and there courtesy of the current government of Trump.
There would be challenges in Russia, North Korea, America, United Kingdom, France and Israel. Germany would be attacked by terrorists again.
In Cameroon, there will be unrest and uneasiness between English and French communities.
The leader of Kenya must work very well on the country’s economy, so he can secure a second term. Uganda should beware of terrorist attack. Ghana’s current president should desist from probing past leaders so as not to destroy the economy of that country.

The Igbo have renewed the agitation for a Biafra Republic, what’s your advice to FG?

If Nigeria, leaders are not careful, the Biafra agitation will cause a major shake-up in this country. It would not only divide Igbo leaders, but also would become a reality if the government continues to underrate it.

Pastor Suleiman is on trial over alleged sex scandal with a Nigerian stripper abroad. What’s your take on this matter?

The Pastor Suleiman I know is not a womanizer. He is a true preacher of God’s word, a giver and gentleman. He could be very outspoken.

The devil is currently waging a physical war against pastors and I urge all men of God to pray against this and also for us. I want to believe that there is more to this Pastor Suleiman’s alleged sex scandal. I know that God would fight for him. I want to advise him not to dignify the devil by responding to all the allegations against him.

He has got a lot of work to do for God in His vineyard. He should therefore not allow himself to be distracted by all the baseless allegations.

I know that he would have his own side of the story, his own facts, as some people have said that it was a set-up. By the time he comes out with his own facts, it may cause a lot more rancour and unnecessary publicity. What has happened is just devil’s work and Pastor Suleiman must be more conscious, careful and more focused on God’s work.

To Nigerians, I say whether the allegations are true or not, let us leave all to God to judge.

The anti-graft war has recorded some setbacks with some recent court rulings. What’s your advice for FG?

I want to advise President Buhari to stand down on his fight against corruption and allow the demon to fight itself.
Corruption, like I have forewarned, is already fighting the president back. The best thing for Buhari to do now is not to be distracted by the complicated work of fighting corruption but exert more energy on bettering the lot of Nigerians, improving the economy and providing jobs for our teeming unemployed youths.
It will get to a time corruption itself would fight itself. God will ensure that happens very soon. If Buhari really wants to uproot corruption in this country, he would have to kill all our political leaders and government appointees and that is evidently mission impossible.
So, the president should rather concentrate more on delivering on other aspects of his party’s manifesto geared towards improving the quality of life of average Nigerians, especially the masses who wholeheartedly keyed into his change promise and voted massively for him with high hopes. President Buhari should leave corruption to kill itself; otherwise the menace would perish his government.

Is this a revelation?

Yes, it is.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said church leaders encouraged corruption in Nigeria. What do you have to say on this?

It was Obasanjo himself who introduced corruption into the church when he invited eminent politicians and personalities into his church in Ogun State, to donate heavily to the church. So, he has no moral right to condemn men of God, saying they encourage corruption. The former president should just keep quiet on the issue of corruption, because he is corrupt and has corrupted the church.

What other prophecies do you have for the country sir?
Let’s pray against sudden earthquakes in Nigeria. There will still be re-shuffling among our service chiefs. Prison officials should be very careful, as there may be jailbreaks. Our economy is not yet stable. The naira will still fluctuate against the dollar.

If Nigerians would just sit back and watch, there is God’s intervention taking place in the National Assembly. The change that God wants to give us would start from the National Assembly, from politicians themselves. A lot of drama is still coming up in the National Assembly as we approach 2019. We have only seen part one, scene one of this drama.

I urge the country to pray against resurgence of bombing of our petroleum pipelines and scarcity of fuel. Some politicians would continue to protect Tompolo who is currently on the wanted list of the Federal Government.
We should also pray against sudden bombings in Abuja. Boko Haram would devise new ways of attacking Nigeria. Let us pray against more deaths in the army.
Some banks, NNPC and the CBN would have problems. We should pray against these. I foresee a new party coming up in a very strong way.
