Nigerian music star, Davido, has said he is of the opinion that the social media bill be passed.

The artist was reacting to a recent circulated post claiming that the HKN singer may be expecting a baby number two out of wedlock following claims from a certain South African woman that she was impregnated by Davido.

He took to his Twitter handle @iam_Davido, advocating that the controversial bill be passed into law, having affirmed he was not responsible for the said pregnancy and was furious about how ‘blogs’ circulate lies.

His tweets read in part:

“I don’t care about what blogs write true or fake but when someone is calling me back to back all the way from another country crying.

“Bleep that poo nigga! They should pass that fucking social media bill because niggas have been talking shot. Just wake up type poo. I don’t understand” the father of one said.

“So many people hate on success, nobody wants to see people wining and living smh!..

“I got mentioned as one of the most influential people in 2015 FORBES Africa, why didn’t you’all put that up? But any bad news, dem go rush to put out, don’t get me wrong; if it is true information, then there is absolutely nothing wrong, but why put out lies?” he tweeted rhetorically.

“One day you will write poo about someone who can’t handle the pressure and you will see what will happen.”

Senegalese Woman With Cocaine Hidden In Her Private Part Arrested At Seme Border

By     No comments:

A 45-year- old, Senegalese woman, Sall Fatou, has been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Zone A attempting to cross the Seme border with tons of cocaine. The suspect that hid the drugs in her private part was intercepted by curious Immigration officers who were suspicious about her nervous posture at the border.

The Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, Zone A, Mr. Musa Maza, who disclosed the arrest said the suspect claimed to be a courier and not a drug dealer. According to him, “the suspect’s nervous posture aroused suspicion when our officers at the border accosted her. She told us she was sent to deliver the drugs to someone in Senegal. The drug was uncovered within her private part.”

The suspect, Fatou, who spoke to newsmen in French, noted that she was only playing the role of a ‘middle-person. She claimed she does not know the person who supplied her drugs.

According to the suspect, “the drug was given to me by someone I do not know at midnight. My own role is to deliver the drugs to someone I also do not know in Senegal but I was caught at the border. I never knew I would fall into this kind of trap. I really regret my actions.”

The suspect was handed over to narcotic officers from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the headquarters of the NIS, Ikeja, Lagos for further investigation and prosecution. The NDLEA officials who took over the matter pledged to ensure thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspect.

ISIS orders killing of children with Down's Syndrome and congenital deformities

By     No comments:

Terrorist group ISIS has allegedly ordered a religious decree to all it's members to kill all children with down's syndrome, disabilities or congenital diseases. Iraqi activist group Mosul Eye, who hardly report false news, say the ISIS Shar'ia Board issued an "oral fatwa (an Islamic term for a religious decree)" to its members authorizing them to "kill newborn babies with Down's Syndrome, congenital deformities and disabled children".

A statement from the activist group, Mosul Eye said:
"As if it is not enough for ISIL (another name for ISIS) to kill men, women and the elderly, and now, they kill children."
According to Mosul Eye an Islamic States's Shar'ia judge, named Abu Said Aljazrawi gave the decree after the activist group studied cases of deaths of deformed children and children with down's syndrome. The activists recorded more than 38 confirmed cases of killing babies with congenital deformities and Down's Syndrome, aged between one week to three months. They were killed by either lethal injection or suffocation with some of those killings took place in Syria and Mosul.

Attempted assasination of Chief of Army Staff is a blatant lie - Shiite spokesman says

By     No comments:

The Shiite movement has described as a blatant lie the allegations by the Nigerian army that its members attempted to assassinate the Chief of Army Staff COAS, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai in Zaria on Saturday December 12th. The movement's position is contained in a statement released by its spokesman, Ibrahim Musa. Read the statement after the cut...

“Following alleged blockade of the route of the Chief of Army Staff by the members of the Movement, the Nigerian Army brutally descended on armless members of the Movement with heavy military weapons killing indiscriminately. In the mean time, leading members of the Islamic Movement and other members as well, have been killed by the soldiers including the leader of the Kano Center, Sheikh Muhammad Turi, Dr. Mustapha Sa’eed, Malam Ibrahim Usman and Sister Jummai Gilima. Also killed were Sayyid Aliy, the son of the leader of the Movement, Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky; the wife of Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky, Malama Zeenat Ibraheem and tens of other members as more are being killed as at the time of this release. The sporadic killings took place at three locations that included the residence of the revered leader of the Movement at Gyallesu, the Husainiyya Bakiyatullah at the GRA and the Darur Rahma located along Zaria-Jos road where many unarmed people were killed. The killing was so brutal at Gyallesu that even those injured in the shooting were identified and killed in cold blood by the soldiers. And as at the time of writing this press release, the victims are in their hundreds, if not thousands. Considering the gross violation of fundamental human rights and extra-judicial killings perpetrated by the Nigerian Army, the Islamic Movement hereby condemns these unjustifiable acts. We state categorically that the claim by the Army that members of the Movement attempted to assassinate the Chief of Army Staff was a blatant lie as the army came back to launch their attack more than an hour after the COAS had passed. Clearly, the Nigerian government through its military is now on rampage in an all out war with the Islamic movement, its members and structures. The scale of this attack would suggest it was meticulously planned by authorities and now being executed ruthlessly. The alleged attack on COAS Burutai was just an alibi. Therefore, with all pointers at the government as the contractor of the killings, we hereby call on well meaning Nigerians and the international community to intervene and seek redress for the victims and their family members as many innocent people have unjustifiably been killed and many others severely injured. In the mean time, there is no idea as to the where about of the leader of the Movement, Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky nor his current condition, and aggrieved members of the Movement across the country have taken to the streets in protests”.

Lucky Ndudi, a Nigerian whose automobile workshop was attacked in the xenophobic attacks in South Africa eight months ago, on Sunday appealed to the Federal Government to assist victims of the incident.
Ndudi, a 35-year-old native of Delta and father of three, told NAN in Johannesburg that he lost everything to the attacks.
“Forty-seven cars in my mechanic garage were damaged. Some car parts and tools were stolen and the garage was burnt. I lost everything during the attack.
“The value of the loss is R1.1million Rand or N19.7million and things have not been easy for me and my family,” he said.
Ndudi said that after the attacks, the Nigerian Consulate in South Africa and Nigeria Union collated the inventory of damages and losses by Nigerians and sent same to the Federal Government.
“It is eight moments after the attacks, we have not received any assistance from the government.
“My present situation has forced me to move out of the accommodation to a cheaper place.
“Friends have been calling on phone but nobody has given me any assistance,” he said.
Ndudi appealed to the Federal Government to implement the report on the attack and assist Nigerians who suffered losses.
“We also appeal to organisations and well meaning Nigerians to assist us restart our businesses. Life has not been easy for us,” he said.

Christian female fighters take on IS in Syria

By     No comments:

Babylonia has no regrets about leaving behind her two children and her job as a hairdresser to join a Christian female militia battling against the Islamic State group in Syria.
The fierce-looking 36-year-old in fatigues from the Syriac Christian minority in the northeast believes she is making the future safe for her children.
“I miss Limar and Gabriella and worry that they must be hungry, thirsty and cold. But I try to tell them I’m fighting to protect their future,” she told AFP.
Babylonia belongs to a small, recently created battalion of Syriac Christian women in Hasakeh province who are fighting IS.
They are following in the footsteps of Syria’s other main female force battling the jihadists — the women of the YPJ, the female counterpart to the Kurdish People’s Protection Units or YPG.
So far the new force is small, with around 50 graduates so far from its training camp in the town of Al-Qahtaniyeh, also known as Kabre Hyore in Syriac, and Tirbespi in Kurdish.
But the “Female Protection Forces of the Land Between the Two Rivers” — the area between the Tigris and Euphrates waterways historically inhabited by Syriacs — is teeming with women eager to prove their worth against IS.

The "Female Protection Forces of the Land Between the Two Rivers'" first major action was alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces, a coalition of Kurdish, Arab and Christian fighters, which recently recaptured the strategic town of Al-Hol (AFP Photo/Delil Souleiman)
It was actually Babylonia’s husband who encouraged her to leave Limar, nine, and six-year-old Gabriella and join the unit whose first recruits graduated in August.
Himself a fighter, he urged her to take up arms to “fight against the idea that the Syriac woman is good for nothing except housekeeping and make-up”, she said.

– ‘Fear quickly went away’ –
“I’m a practising Christian and thinking about my children makes me stronger and more determined in my fight against Daesh,” added Babylonia, using the Arabic acronym for IS.
Syriac Christians belong to the eastern Christian tradition and pray in Aramaic. They include both Orthodox and Catholic branches, and constitute around 15 percent of Syria’s 1.2 million Christians.
Before the conflict began in March 2011, Christians from some 11 different sects made up around five percent of the population.
The unit’s first major action was alongside the newly created Syrian Democratic Forces, a coalition of Kurdish, Arab and Christian fighters, which recently recaptured the strategic town of Al-Hol.
“I took part in a battle for the first time in the Al-Hol area, but my team wasn’t attacked by IS,” said 18-year-old Lucia, who gave up her studies to join the militia.
Her sister also joined up, against the wishes of their reluctant mother.
“I fight with a Kalashnikov, but I’m not ready to become an elite sniper yet,” the shy teenager said, a wooden crucifix around her neck and a camouflage bandana tied round her head.
Al-Hol, on a key route between territory IS controls in Syria and Iraq, was the first major victory for the SDF, which has captured around 200 villages in the region in recent weeks.
It has received air support from the US-led coalition fighting IS, as well as drops of American weapons.
Ormia, 18, found battle terrifying at first.
“I was afraid of the noise of cannons firing, but the fear quickly went away,” she said.
“I would love to be on the front line in the fight against the terrorists.”
– ‘Not afraid of Daesh’ –
The battalion’s fighters train in an old mill in a programme that includes military, fitness and academic elements.
With its limited combat experience, the unit for now focuses mainly on protecting majority Christian parts of Hasakeh province.
Thabirta Samir, 24, who helps oversee the training, estimates that around 50 fighters have graduated so far.
“I used to work for a Syriac cultural association, but now I take pleasure in working in the military field,” she said.
“I’m not afraid of Daesh, and we will be present in the coming battles against the terrorists.”
Samir said both local and “foreign forces” helped train the women, without specifying the nationality of the foreigners.
In late November, Kurdish sources said US soldiers had entered the town of Kobane in northern Syria to train Kurdish fighters and plan offensives.
Some women cited what is known as the Sayfo (“Sword”) massacres in 1915 of Syriac, Assyrian and Chaldean Christians as reasons for joining the unit.
“We are a community that is oppressed by others,” said 18-year-old Ithraa. She joined four months ago inspired by the memory of Sayfo, in which Ottoman authorities are said to have killed tens of thousands of Christians in Turkey and Iran.
She said the community hoped to prevent “a new massacre like that committed by the Ottomans… when they tried to erase our Christian and Syriac identity”.

Blame naira fall and bad economy on the last administration- Lai Mohammed

By     No comments:

Minister of Information Lai Mohammed has asked Nigerians to blame the last administration for the continued fall of the Naira and the current state of the economy. Lai Mohammed stated this in statement he released yeterday December 13th. According to him, some members of the former ruling party turned the CBN into their ATM or piggy banks. He said if the party had won the Presidential election, Nigerians economy would not have survived one more month ...

“Some people still have the temerity to insult a government that is working hard to turn things around for the citizens, who are bearing the brunt of such mismanagement. It is now clear to all Nigerians that if the PDP had won the last general elections, Nigeria’s economy would not have survived one more month, considering the battering it received under the immediate past Administration. It is therefore unconscionable that those who should show contrition and humility to avoid public disgrace are the same ones pointing accusing fingers at the Buhari Administration.”he said
Lai Mohammed described the comments credited to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu which stated that ‘businesses may collapse in the next six months because the Buhari Administration has mismanaged the economy’ as the clearest indication that the PDP and its leaders are still in denial of the massive destruction they inflicted on the Nigerian economy. According to him, Ike Ekweremadu (Senator) complained about the depreciation of the naira without telling Nigerians, who ‘dollarized’ the Nigerian economy by bribing many individuals and groups with dollars during the last elections, thereby causing a downward drift on the local currency.

Lai added that the Senate deputy President failed to tell Nigerians which government presided over the frenzied mop-up of dollars, either for ‘arms – gate’ or for slush fund purposes from the CBN to a point where it almost ran out of the hard currency.

He said that though the Buhari Administration met an economy that was in coma, it has refused to use that as an excuse for inaction, hence has been working hard on measures that will turn the economy around and greatly offer relief to Nigerians by lifting millions, not thousands of people out of poverty through a massive social intervention policy.

He further noted that the outcome of the months of hard work will manifest soon in the 2016 national budget that will give succor to millions of Nigerians, who are reeling from the fallout of the mistake of the immediate past Administration which has turned the country into a cash market.

He advised the leaders of PDP and members of the immediate past Administration, who are involved in the emerging cases of looting spree to urgently return to government coffers, the funds they have taken from the treasury.
”They are lucky that Nigerians are not as reckless as they are, otherwise they would not be able to walk around freely; not even to have the confidence challenge the Government which inherited their rot or the citizens suffering the consequences. They looted the billions of naira that were allocated for the fight against insurgency, causing many innocent and patriotic soldiers to die needlessly. Yet, they are not remorseful. They looted the treasury to influence the last elections, doling out money as if it was going out of fashion, yet they have continued in brag. In the latest revelation, a Minister under the immediate past dispensation admitted to sharing 600 million naira to six Chairmen of the Contact and Mobilization Committee of the PDP for the last general elections, 300 million naira to an account given by a former PDP Chairman, 200 million naira to a PDP governorship candidate and 100 million naira to a former PDP Governor. This is just one case out of many, yet these revelations are but a tip of the iceberg of what Nigerians will hear in the days ahead.”he added
