How 3 Kids Discovered Colonel Samaila Inusa’s Dead Body

By     No comments:

Three children went to pluck cashew from a bush opposite Ajyaita Village in Kakau District of Chikun LGA of Kaduna State on Tuesday, but ran into a very unlikely sight-a corpse, which was later identified as that of the abducted military officer.
Ajyaita village is about 10 kilometres from Kaduna city centre, and lies along the Eastern By-pass which links the Abuja-Kaduna express way to the southern part of the state.
The children had set out for the forest opposite the village on Tuesday morning and met the decomposing body by a narrow footpath leading to the forest.
Some elders told Daily Trust that the children then ran back home to reveal the unpleasant information to a farmer who they earlier met on their way to the forest. The man was planting yam seedlings at a farm. After hearing the children’s story, he rushed to the spot to confirm it, and he in turn, ran to inform the village head.
The village head informed the police authorities who deployed some policemen to accompany him to the spot. The police then called the army authorities who came to inspect the corpse. Therein came the painful confirmation-it was the body of Colonel Samaila Inusa, who was kidnapped a few days earlier.
“The military came with photographs and confirmed that he was the one. There was no identity card found on him, but the military identified him as the missing colonel. The place he was found is a bush path that is accessible by a car. The bush is also close to a village called Kefinary,” an elder said.
Residents of Ajyaita refused to take our correspondents to the place, saying the place had been cordoned off by soldiers who asked people to stay away for now.
Daily Trust noticed some heavily armed policemen patrolling the area while villagers were busy with their work without any noticeable tension.
The colonel was buried yesterday at the Ribadu Cantonment, Old Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) site in Kaduna according to Islamic rites.
Draped in the national colours of green-white-green, the body arrived the old NDA cemetery around11.45am from the 44 Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna and was interred at noon after prayers at the NDA Juma’at mosque.
Relations, colleagues and friends couldn’t hold back tears, while some cried loudly.
The Chief Administrative Officer of the Nigerian Army, Major General Ado Abubakar, who represented the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, said it was a great loss to the Nigerian Army.
He described late colonel as a very committed officer who never joked with his responsibilities and announced that the army would do everything possible to get those behind the killing.
“Col. Inusa was a great soldier. We all feel the pains. Though death is inevitable and nobody can run away from it. I came in to represent my boss, the Chief of Army Staff because the Nigerian Army is mourning one of us that had really served this country greatly and we are not really happy the way he died, but whatever happened, we will see to the end of it all,” he said.
The Commander, Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Major General Kasim Abdulkarim, said the late Samaila who served under his command was a loyal, committed and hardworking officer who would be fondly missed by his colleagues.
Gen. Abdulkarim urged officers and men of the Nigerian military to take precautionary measures for their personal safety.
The colonel’s younger brother, Mustapha Inusa, described him as generous, saying, he was good to everyone, both within and outside his family.
“He was our family’s breadwinner and we will miss his dearly. Samaila is dead and he was buried in the presence of his parents, you know what it feels like for parents to bury their children, it is not a good feeling, his parents will really feel his absence because he was the one who used to cater for them,” he said.
Colonel Inusa, who was the Commander, 81 Battalion in Bulabulin, Damboa LGA of Borno State before he became Chief Instructor at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Kaduna State, was honoured with a three- gun salute by officers.
A close friend of the deceased and former Minority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Muhammad Ali, described him as a humble and calm person who was loved by all.
Another close family friend who simply gave her name as Mama Hauwa described the late Samaila as a perfect gentle man. She prayed that his soul rest in peace while calling on the military authorities not to relent in their resolve to get the killers.
Born in 1972 in Nasarawa LGA of Kano State, Col. Inusa attended Ramat Special Primary School from 1979 to1985 and proceeded to the Ahmadiyya Secondary School, Kano where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 1991.
He gained admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1992 as a member of the 44th Regular Course and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science. He was the aide-de-camp to Sierra-Leonean Vice- President and was promoted to the rank of Colonel last year. His last appointment was as Chief Instructor at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Jaji.

Dutch Prisons Are Closing Because of lack of criminals

By     No comments:

In 2013, 19 prisons in the Netherlands closed because the country didn't have enough criminals to fill them.
Now, five more are slated to close their doors by the end of the summer, according to internal documents obtained by The Telegraaf.
While these closures will result in the loss of nearly 2,000 jobs, only 700 of which will transition into other unknown roles within Dutch law enforcement, the trend of closing prisons follows a steady drop in crime since 2004.
The problem of empty jail cells has even gotten to the point where, last September, the country imported 240 prisoners from Norway just to keep the facilities full.
Still, according to The Telegraaf's report, Justice Minister Ard van der Steur announced to parliament that the cost of maintaining sparsely-filled prisons was cost-prohibitive for the small country.
A number of factors underlie the Netherlands' ability to keep its crime rate so low, namely, relaxed drug laws, a focus on rehabilitation over punishment, and an electronic ankle monitoring system that allows people to re-enter the workforce.
A study published in 2008 found the ankle monitoring system reduced the recidivism rate by up to half compared to traditional incarceration. Instead of wasting away in a jail cell, eating up federal dollars, convicted criminals are given the opportunity to contribute to society.
These measures all add up to an unbelievably low incarceration rate: Although the Netherlands has a population of 17 million, only 11,600 people are locked up. That's a rate of 69 incarcerations per 100,000 people.
The US, meanwhile, has a rate of 716 per 100,000 — the highest in the world. It's marked largely by its lack of attention to social services and rehabilitation programs once prisoners finish their sentences. Without a safety net to give them any other options, many fall back into their old habits.
Seeing as how the Netherlands is literally importing prisoners to keep jails full, larger countries like the US could learn a thing or two from the Dutch model.

By     No comments:

Why Our 2019 Presidential Candidate Must Be A Northerner – PDP

By     No comments:

The Board of Trustee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the party’s flag bearer in the forthcoming 2019 Presidential election must emerge from the Northern part of the country.
According to the acting BoT chairman, Sen. Jibril Walid this will be done in order to compensate for alleged violation of the zoning arrangement in the 2011 election, which he said contributed to the party’s woes in the last 2015 general elections.
Walid warned that anyone trying to reverse this decision would “ever remain an enemy to the North, a mercenary and killer of the PDP”.
He said, “To change this decision now is a further invitation to impunity, a lack of party democracy, non-adherence to the party’s zoning principles, influence of ‘god-fatherism’, a lack of respect for the decision of constituted party organs, self-imposition and killing the PDP.”
“The BoT shall resist any move by anybody to destroy the good foundation set by our founding fathers and mothers and shall remain the conscience of the party.”

Some insurgents were killed while 2 were arrested. In addition, 2 BHT Toyota pick-up vehicles, 40 motorcycles and fuel dumps were destroyed, he said.
Excerpt of the press statement below:
PRESS CONFERENCE ON OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE BY MAJOR GENERAL LUCKY IRABOR, THEATRE COMMANDER, OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE ON 29TH MARCH 2016
1. Consistent with our promise to keep the public duly informed of the progress in Operation LAFIYA DOLE, I wish to address you today, to give an update of operations since our last formal meeting. You are quite aware of the change of Command in the Theatre since 17 Mar 16. My inability to address you since assuming Command is largely due to the operations we have been conducting to which the outcome would be made public in this briefing. The Nigerian troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE in a bid to bring the insurgency in the North East to an end have recorded successes. Some of the major successes are:
a. Capture of KUMSHE. On 23 Feb 16 at about 0740 hrs, Own troops in conjunction with Cameroonian forces commenced advance to clear and capture KUMSHE. Twenty Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) were killed while equipment captured include one gun truck mounted with Anti-Aircraft gun, 2 AK 47 rifles as well as 60 mm mortar. Three Cameroonian soldiers sustained injuries while trying to deactivate Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) buried along the way. It is worthy to note that the joint force encountered about 10 IEDs during the operation. KUMSHE was eventually captured with little resistance from the BHTs on 24 Feb 16.
b. Capture of KALA- BALGE. On 23 Mar 16 troops of 22 Brigade in conjunction with elements of Armed Forces Special Forces (AFSF) Battalion and Army Headquarters Strike Group (AHQ SG) advanced to clear, capture and hold Kala-Balge LGA and the general areas of the Local Government. In the process, pockets of insurgents in Wumbi, Tunish and Tilem villages were cleared. The BHT training camp at Tilem was destroyed. The terrorists suffered heavy causalities including the destruction of 2 of their Toyota pick-up vehicles and 4 Canter trucks. Troops recovered 4 AK 47 rifles and a Mortar tube. Our gallant troops killed 15 insurgents, recovered other weapons and equipment and freed 567 civilians held hostage. The pictures of troops in KALA BALGE LGA are as shown on the screen. Troops are currently conducting clearing operations in the general area to destroy remnants of the terrorists still operating in KALA- BALGE.
c. Offensive to Capture ALAGARNO. On 18 Mar 16 at about 0900 hrs troops of 3 and 7 Division commenced advance to capture ALAGARNO with a preparatory air bombardment by NAF. Advance was halted severally due to planted IEDs along the routes leading to ALAGARNO. During the operations, troops cleared YAJIWA, JOBA, MOSA, ARIWUZUMARI, MISSENE SANSAN and KAGALMARI villages. Our gallant troops finally entered ALAGARNO on 28 Mar 16 during which several BHTs were killed along the route. This operation demystified the BHT spiritual power base in ALAGARNO. Throughout the operation, the NAF monitored the operation, consistently resupplied the advancing troops as well as assisted in evacuating soldiers that were wounded in action.
2. You will recall that motorcycles were inducted into the operation and launched by the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai on 27 Feb 16 at DAMBOA. The Motor Cycle Battalion has been very useful in areas of road piquetting and for patrols among other tasks. Let me also state that troops in the Theatre have also been conducting clearing operations on a daily basis in the Theatre of Operation to destroy remnants of the terrorists still harbouring in some Local Government Areas as well as rescue civilians held in captivity. Clearing operations that troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have conducted includes:
a. Troops of 81 Task Force Battalion cleared and destroyed Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) camps at KOMALA, DOLE, KUMASI and MAUDORI villages around the fringes of ALARGANO. Some insurgents were killed while 2 were arrested. In addition, 2 BHT Toyota pick-up vehicles, 40 motorcycles and fuel dumps were destroyed.
b. In another development, troops of 25 Brigade cleared BHT camps at Galmasku Muli, Chiralia, Maisani Talala, Ajigin Shetimalau 1 and 2 and Dalomi. During the operation 250 hostages were rescued, 5 BHT trucks, 80 motorcycles and many bicycles were destroyed. Additionally, several IED-making materials were recovered and destroyed.
c. In a similar development, troops of 7 Division comprising 112 Battalion, AHQ SG and Air Component conducted joint fighting patrol with civilian JTF to Anadawa, Talbari, Choga, Dagumba, and Hagibiri Manawaji in Mafa-konduga axis. On sighting own troops, the in insurgents fled. Consequently, troops destroyed the BHT camps at Dagumba and also cleared the Mafa-Konduga road.
d. Troops of 157 TF Bn in 8 TF Div Area of Responsibility conducted ambush along BHT crossing points between Mile 90 and Yoyo. In the process 3 motorcycles and several gallons of PMS were recovered. Additionally, troops of Brigade Quick Response (QRG) Force of Headquarters 7 Brigade MNJTF sprung a deliberate ambush 10km east of Kekenoa on some BHT riding motorcycles. Two insurgents were killed while 2 AK 47 rifles, 2 magazines, 3 motorcycles, one hand grenade, and some food items were recovered.
e. Troops of 25 TF Bde conducted offensive operations to clear BHTs from their base at TALALA and AJIGIN. Troops cleared the insurgent camps at GALMASKU MULI, CHIRALIA, DOKSA, GWOLGORE, MAISANI, TALALA, AJIGIN, SHETIMALU 1&2 and DALOMI. Our gallant troops destroyed 15 pick -up vehicles, 5 trucks and 80 motor cycles. Several IED making materials were also recovered and destroyed.
f. Troops of 27 TF Bde conducted fighting patrol to suspected BHTs hideout close to GAMSARI village in YUSUFANARI LGA in Yobe State. Troops successfully cleared the terrorists from their hideout. Among the items recovered was one Armoured Personnel Carrier captured from our troops in 2015. Other items are one Isreali assault rifle, extra magazine, 70 rounds of 5.56mm (NATO) and one Motor Cycle.
3. The Theatre Command wishes to reassure the public of its untiring resolve to safeguard lives and properties of Nigerians in the North East. Regarding the online video clip purportedly released by the BHT leader or his replica showing remorse and making a dying testimony, let me unequivocally state that it does not have any influence on Operation LAFIYA DOLE as our gallant troops are determined to completely wipe out all terrorists in our great country Nigeria. It is imperative to add that we shall not rest on our oars in implementing the directives of our courageous leaders, C-in-C, CDS, the COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai, and other Service Chiefs at ensuring that the BHTs are completely defeated and their remnants cleared wherever they hibernate. However, we are mindful that most of the BHT are tired of their ignoble adventure. We are ready to receive them whenever they so decide. Consequently, all would be terrorists, suicide bombers and other BHTs are advised to do away with their senseless venture and surrender to the security forces. For those ready to surrender, they are hereby assured that they would be humanely treated in line with international best practices and in accordance with the International Humanitarian Law.
4. Let me once again commend the invaluable support and contributions of all stake holders in this fight against insurgency in the North East. I wish to assure you that the Nigerian Military is more than ever determined to secure our great country. To the members of the public, I urge you to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement of persons and objects to the military or to the nearest security agency. Before I end this brief, I will like to place on record, the commendable cooperation and contribution of the Cameroonian Forces. Their active involvement even at the expense of the lives and well-being of their troops is worthy of emulation by our other neighbours. I wish to also use this opportunity to commiserate with the Cameroonians for the loss of their gallant officer and soldiers who paid the supreme sacrifice during the joint operations. We equally remember the death of Maj Gen YM Abubakar in the line of duty. May the gentle souls of all troops from Nigeria and Cameroon who lost their lives rest in peace. Thank you.

Many States Want To Replicate Our Religious Bill, They’ve Asked For Our Copy – El-rufai

By     No comments:

Those presently clamouring against the religious bill proposed by Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State may be in for a long drawn battle as the Governor has revealed that many state governments are ready to toe the same path and have asked for a copy of the bill to replicate in their states.

El-Rufai, who made this disclosure yesterday while interacting with select journalists at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kaduna, said the proposed law was sent to the state House of Assembly since October 15, 2015 and was not a new bill as being speculated.

He explained that: “It was first enacted in 1984 during the term of Air Vice Marshal Usman Mua’zu (retd) after the Maitsine uprising in 1982. The then military junta saw the need to regulate preaching in some states in the North.

“Many states are ready to do similar thing now. They have asked for the copy of our bill. I will not name the states.”

He went on to debunk claims that he walked out on the Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, when he tried to reach an understanding with him on a particular issue, stressing that that the speculation was the handwork of his political detractors.

El-Rufai, who maintained that he enjoys an excellent relationship with the Vice-President, insisted that there was never a time he walked out on him, adding that the authors of such stories were mischievous.

According to him, “I have never attended a meeting where the President and the Vice-President were all in the same room.“I think the only time where the President and the Vice-president were around and I was in attendance was when the National Economic Council, NEC, was inaugurated by Mr President. He (President) came and delivered his address and left.”

Super Eagles say goodbye to AFCON 2017 for losing to Egypt

By     No comments:

The Super Eagles are now doomed in their aspirations to qualify for next year's AFCON tournament in Gabon after losing 0-1 to Egypt in Alexandria tonight. The task before the Eagles became tougher after Friday’s 1-1 draw with Egypt in Kaduna and the withdrawal of Chad from the AFCON race.
Nigeria missed out on the 2015 edition in Equatorial Guinea and were desperate for a return. The first half ended goalless with the Super Eagles keeping to coach Samson Siasia's tactical master plan to keep proceedings neat and tidy and then attack the Egyptians on the counter.
But with the Egyptians resolute they soon found a way past the Nigerians in the second half.
19 year old Ramadan Sobhy scored in the 65th minute after a deflection off his shot ensured the Super Eagles left the field with hands in their mouth. Upon scoring Nigeria, the Egyptians introduced a striker with the hope that they could pull the Nigerian defence across the lines knowing fully well the Nigerians will attack, attack and attack as they needed a goal badly.
Ighalo, ineffective throughout the match, drifted towards the left side as new entrant Alex Iwobi and Ahmed Musa tried to play centrally. Time and time again, Nigeria were thwarted by the Egyptian defence causing the Nigerian backline to play high up and expose themselves in 3 vs 4 or 3 vs 5 situations.
And then the moment of hope came! Victor Moses, hardworking through out the night blazed a rocketing shot from almost 30 yards which hit the bar and spiraled towards the other corner. Victor Moses and the Super Eagles bench were distraught, how wasn't that a goal? Even with four minutes of extra time, the Super Eagles looked more likely conceding a goal than scoring one.
Nigeria with 2 points from three games, with just one game against Tanzania remaining, is effectively out of qualification for next year's AFCON tournament.

Dollar Scarcity: Foreign Airlines Raise Fares By 100%

By     No comments:

Foreign exchange risk is now a major component of airfares on Nigerian routes, the country managers of top foreign airlines have revealed.
Investigation by our correspondent revealed that the airlines operating on international routes in the country had increased airfares by as much as 100 per cent as a result of the development.
A survey of all the major Nigerian routes flown by the foreign airlines in the country showed that the cost of return tickets had been increased by between 80 per cent and 120 per cent of the previous fares, depending on the carrier, time of booking and the season.
The survey cuts across Nigeria-North America routes, Nigeria-South Africa route, and Nigeria-Europe routes. Airfares on the Lagos-London, Abuja-London, Lagos-New York, Lagos-Atlanta, Lagos-Houston, and Lagos-Johannesburg routes were examined.
Findings also showed that local airlines operating international flights, especially Arik Air and MedView Airlines, had increased their airfares.
For instance, airfares on the Lagos-London and Abuja-London routes now cost an average of N380,000 for the economy class seat, as against the average of N200,000 a year ago on the British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways. This represents an increase of 111 per cent.
Similarly, on Air France, an economic ticket on the Lagos/Abuja-London routes now goes for about N360,000, while Lufthansa German Airlines charges N380,000. These represent an increase of 80 per cent and 90 per cent, respectively, when compared with an average fare of N200,000 on the routes a year ago.
A Business Class ticket now goes for as high as N3m as against the N1.5m a year ago on the Lagos-London route.
On the Lagos-Atlanta and Lagos-Houston routes, Delta Airlines and United Airlines, which used to fly Economy Class passengers for between N270,000 and N330,000 some 12 months ago, now render the same service at an average fare of N600,000, depending on the time of booking. This represents an increase of about 100 per cent.
South Africa Airways and Arik Air, which used to fly the Lagos-Johannesburg routes for between N100,000 and N120,000 for the economy class, now fly the route for between N180,000 and N220,000, depending on the time of booking and the season.
The Lagos-Paris route, which used to go for N180,000 on the average, now goes for around N400,000. This represents an increase of 120 per cent.
Operators link the increment in fares to the scarcity of foreign exchange to attend to the operational needs of the carriers and the erosion in the value of the ticket sales proceeds, which are now stuck in banks due to lack of forex to repatriate the funds.
Late last year, the new administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had unveiled a fiscal policy, through the Central Bank of Nigeria, restricting access to foreign exchange and funds transfer out of the country.
While this has had advantages for some sectors of the economy, foreign airline operators have complained of their inability to repatriate revenue to their operational bases as a result of the new policy.
An official of one the airlines told our correspondent that the carrier had close to N90bn as accumulated earnings in banks, which it had been unable to repatriate.
He said that the airline industry relied heavily on cash to meet its commitments, adding that it was sad that the government was not seeing things this way.
With huge airline revenue in the vaults of the banks, some of the operators nursed fears of being exposed to risks should the pressure on the naira lead to the devaluation of the currency, which could erode the value of the funds by about 35 per cent to 45 per cent.
Following the difficulty in repatriating earnings from Nigeria, some of the airlines initially began restricting cheap fares on the Nigerian routes in the last quarter of last year, leading to an indirect hike in fares.
At the time, the effect was felt more on second tier routes from Lagos-London-Atlanta, Lagos-London-New York, Lagos-London-Miami, Lagos-London-São Paulo, Lagos-London-Houston; or Lagos-Frankfurt-New York, Lagos-Frankfurt-Chicago, Lagos-Frankfurt-Los Angeles, and Lagos-Frankfurt-Shanghai.
Citing Nigeria’s slowing economy amid forex scarcity, some international airlines are now contemplating reducing flights to the country or operating smaller capacity aircraft as a short-term measure.
However, following complaints by the airlines, representatives of the International Air Transport Association are said to have pleaded with the CBN Governor, Godwin Emiefele, to intervene in the matter and make dollars available to them.
But the move has yet to yield any positive results.
The foreign airlines also reportedly met with the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, and urged him to look into their case.
A spokesperson for one of the airlines noted that the difficulty in repatriating revenues was affecting aircraft leases and fuelling, stating that the earnings were partly being used for fuel and renewing aircraft leases.
While the situation persists, the effect on air travellers and other businesses that depend so much on air travel has been immense.
A manager with a transport and logistic firm, Mr. Emmanuel Iruobe , said the company had incurred more costs than were provided for in the execution of most contracts this year.
Iruobe urged the government to look into the situation with a view to resolving it in the interest of Nigerians.
On their part, stakeholders in the travel industry under the aegis of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies have faulted the astronomical cost of air tickets by the airlines, especially the foreign carriers.
Describing the situation where taxes that go to the airlines are higher than base fares as unacceptable, the group has petitioned the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Aviation, to caution the foreign airlines over the alleged sharp practices.
The Publicity Secretary, NANTA, Mrs. Ngozi Ngoka, opined that the cumulative effect of taxes and surcharges by airlines also generated a final price to the passenger that could be as much as double the advertised airfare for a short-haul flight.
Another stakeholder, who is the Chief Executive Officer, Gadshire Travels, Mr. Gbenga Adebayo, berated the airlines, describing the excuse of forex scarcity and multiple taxes given to increase fares as untenable.
According to him, the arbitrary increment and gap between what is charged in Nigeria and other African countries on the same routes are due to the failure of regulatory authorities to perform their duties.

By     No comments:
Kemi-Omololu-Olunloyo

Controversial 51 year old social media personality, Kemi Olunloyo revealed in a new interview on why she stopped supporting the Biafra movement.

She said she pulled out of the Biafra movement when it started getting violent.
Some of them wanted Biafra or death. I am like ‘no that is not going to work with me’. I don’t like slogans that promote death – Biafra or nothing. Try Biafra and peace. Biafra and peace will give you international attention from international networks like CNN, BBC and also human rights agencies” said Kemi Olunloyo.
She further said “what I got were people chanting Biafra or death and they were liking violence, making threats at the DSS, the police, the army and they were carrying weapons and doing other stuff. Many people were loud on the Internet and not on the ground protesting. Not all of them. People with those flags on the ground are different from the people online.
Kemi Olunloyo yanked away her support from the Biafra movement and now supports the One Nigeria cause.
In another clip she spoke about Olamide and how he visits a ritualist. “Olamide I am looking at you. Have you ever been to a ritualist? Answer the question. We both know the answer. It’s not controversial. For me to say something like that out on the Internet. I can stay in front of Mushin and say it no one is going to touch me.”

Malawian President Rejects T.B Joshua's Prophecy

By     No comments:

Malawian President Peter Mutharika on Sunday attacked Prophet TB Joshua over an alleged prophecy that he would die before April 1, state television reported.
"I'm told there is a man in Nigeria called Joshua and he is saying that Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe and Peter Mutharika will die before April 1," he said, referring to TB Joshua.
"Let me tell you, Joshua... you will fail. What you did in 2012 will not happen again this year," the president told a rally in the capital Lilongwe.

In 2012, Joshua reportedly predicted the death of a president of an unnamed southern African country. Mutharika's brother, Bingu, who was president at the time, did die within the predicted timeframe, giving the prophesy strong currency in Malawi.
Mutharika did not say when or where Joshua made the latest prophesy.
In January, Joshua reportedly gave a televised prophecy, telling his congregation to pray for the leaders in southern Africa, saying: "End of February to April this year, peculiar months for Southern Africa."
