Breaking News: Nigeria to begin another civil war to resist breakaway N'Delta Republic

By     No comments:

Nigeria's seat of power have it that plans have been concluded by the Federal Government to declare a full-blown war on the Niger Delta as the militants particularly the Niger Delta Avengers have stated their conditions for a ceasefire which the government says is impossible to meet, a presidency insider revealed to DailyGlobeWatch on condition of anonymity.
The militants under the aegis of Niger Delta Avengers  have insisted on seceding from Nigeria because of what it described as a grave injustice committed by the Nigerian Government against the people of the region since oil exploration and extraction activities began in the region decades ago.
They have complained that while the proceeds emanating from the wealth beneath their land is siphoned daily to create wealth and affluence for  people in other parts of Nigeria the people of the region live in abject poverty resulting from neglect and  huge  damage to the region's eco-system.
Among the conditions reportedly given for a cease-fire is the immediate release from detention of the ex-National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.) , Nnamdi Kanu, the Director of Radio Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) and corruption charges dropped against some indicted public office holders.
The Federal Government in an emergency meeting held in the State House, Abuja as the 2-week ceasefire draws near,  after sitting to review the conditions cast their conditions overboard and resolved to declare a full-blown war on the region and consequently crush any dissenting voice with utmost brutality no matter how highly-placed.
Governors and serving ministers from the region, our source revealed, have been kept in the dark of this decision to declare a full-scale war. The Nigerian Army will soon be given marching orders to commence hostilities against the militants in the region as the Federal Government is not ready to cede any part of Nigeria to any group under whatever guise.
This decision to go to war was reached after a series of clandestine meetings by Arewa Consultative Forum, (ACF) and other eminent northern Nigerians which it relayed to the Federal Government.
A reconnaissance mission, according to our source, is to begin in the next few days as soon as the president returns to the country.
The Nigerian Army, our source further revealed,  is only waiting for the two-week ceasefire declared by the Federal Government to expire before full hostilities is declared  to crush the militants.
But the Militants are calling the Federal Government a bluff  as they have earlier called the world powers' attention to the problem in the region.
A highly reliable source also confirmed that the militants are being backed by foreign powers who have vowed to back them in the event of full-blown hostilities until a sovereign state of Niger Delta is actualized.

Kano killings: We will kill more if you Insult Allah, Kano residents threatens Igbo community

By     No comments:

Despite a stakeholders’ meeting between Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and prominent community and religious leaders, some residents of the state have vowed to kill again if anyone blasphemes the Prophet Muhammad.
On June 2, an Igbo woman, Mrs. Bridget Agbahime, 74, was killed after she refused to allow a Muslim man perform ablution in front of her shop.
An eyewitness, Iruka Okoro, who is a member of the Igbo Community Association in Kano, stated that shortly after an argument ensued because of Agbahime’s refusal, some irate youths armed with dangerous weapons attacked her, stabbing her several times and eventually slitting her throat.
“The murder of Agbahime was a big slap on the Igbo Community Association. I do not see any reason why somebody’s refusal to allow a fellow trader perform ablution in front of her shop should lead to her murder.
“Her assailants killed her for telling a co-trader to go to his shop and wash his legs before prayers. Some irate youths sliced her throat like a cow,” Okoro said.
He noted that the owner of the premises, where they both had their stalls, had on more than one occasion intervened in the dispute between the 74-year-old and her co-trader.
“The landlord instructed the male co-trader to confine himself to his side of the market, as well as perform his ablution there,” Okoro stated.
As if the killing was not enough, it was learnt that some Muslim youths stormed the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital mortuary at about 2am on Friday, demanding for the head of the murdered woman, but their request was turned down by the guards at the hospital.
To prevent any further breakdown of law and order, 20 vehicles carrying armed soldiers with Armoured Personnel Carriers were stationed along the Sabon-Gari area of the city.
Ganduje, at the end of the meeting which was held a day after the incident, condemned the killing of Agbahime.
The governor, who had condoled with the husband of the deceased, Pastor Mike Agbahime, during the meeting, described the action of the mob as illegal and unjust. He promised that justice would be done.
He also commended security operatives in the state for promptly apprehending the prime suspect, one Dauda.
“We all resolved to condemn this illegal action publicly in the media, while the Ulama and the leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria will participate in public enlightenment in our media houses,” he said.
In his remarks, the state Chairman of CAN, Rev. Ransom Bello, expressed the body’s satisfaction with the resolutions reached at the meeting, adding that “there is nothing better that any person would expect than what you (the governor) have done tonight.”
While urging the people of the state to remain calm, he stated that with the efforts being made by the state government, peace had returned to the state and that the stakeholders’ meeting was an indication that there would be no more religious killings in Kano.
“Such a thing had never happened under any governor in Kano, as far as I know. The Christian body is satisfied and happy with the conclusions,” he said.
However, following a post of photos of the meeting and the resolutions reached by the Director-General, Media and Communications to the Kano Governor, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, on Ganduje’s official Facebook page, some Nigerians appeared to be spoiling for a fight as they condemned the state government for taking sides with the deceased, whom they claimed insulted Prophet Muhammad.
A comment posted by one Ali Idris stated, “It’s a shame, we’ll never tolerate such acts; be warned. Allah ya jikan musulman da iyamure suka kashe a onitsha, aba da sausansu satinnan a bikin Biafra’s day.” Also commenting on the post, one Ahmad Abdullahi Ibrahim said, “Innaalillahi, we Muslims are lost, the government says ‘Innocent lady’. Does that mean she did not blaspheme our noble prophet? Indirectly you’re insulting your people.
“Did the government, including the so-called Muslim scholars, take any serious decision when Muslims (were) burnt and killed in the South just because they were Muslims? I am not saying taking the law into your own hands is right, but, you need to be wise enough. Allah ya sawwake.”
Another person, Usman Lawn Tanko, commented that anyone who blasphemed the prophet would be dealt with.
He said, “Muslim (Islam) is a religion of peace but we will not tolerate such kind of stupidity to our noble prophet. I swear without any exception anybody who did (sic) it again or try to will expect the same consequence or above that. Be careful.”
One Abazarri Lawan Imran pointed out that the people who assaulted and eventually killed the Igbo woman should be commended.
“If it is true (that) she abused our lovely prophet, I really appreciate the decision by the youth. We know the government and its people would not support as it shown in the issue of Adul Inyas. When government can’t defend our religion we shall (n)ever support or defend that government, whether state or federal. I love you Muhammad (SAW) more than myself and even my parents,” Imran said.
While the commentators praised the killing, they also criticised the governor, saying they would vote him out come 2019.
“We also condemn Governor Ganduje. We are just waiting for 2019,” one Nuhu Suleiman posted on the governor’s Facebook wall.
Another contributor on the issue, Muhammad Usman, said, “I am sure they (the perpetrators of the violence) did the best they could do. May Allah reward them with jannatul firdaus.”
Concerning Ganduje, one Bashir Umar Musa wrote, “Stupid governor.”
Reacting to comments by those who supported the killing of the Igbo woman, one Echezona Iloegbunam said, “I can’t imagine the comments from this post. How come mere mortals are fighting for Prophet Muhammad, the so-called prophet of God?”
One Sani Ahmad shot back, “Echezona, or whatever you call yourself, God’s vengeance is certainly above what they did to this woman. It is a show of love for their prophet and any person who did what she did would get the same reward. So be careful.”
The General Secretary of CAN, Musa Asake, however, told our correspondent that Christians in the state would fight back if pushed to the wall.
“In the first place, that woman did not say anything against their prophet. That man had been disturbing her in her shop for sometime before she was eventually killed that day. We appreciate government’s efforts but things are getting to a point that we are getting so tired. We hear of condemnation each time someone is killed and nothing is done about it. Christians are not stupid; we may be silent. We are listening, watching and will act if that man is not brought to justice.
“Those who are writing on the Facebook wall of the governor are irresponsible. They should go ahead and kill again. We are not dumb. We have hands. Because Christianity does not allow us to kill; we encourage ourselves and accept the tragedy brought on us by them. This time around, we want condemnation to come with judgment. Muslim clerics should single out those ones praising the killing and promising to kill more. They give Muslims a bad name,” Asake said.
The Director of Muslim Rights Concern, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, when asked to respond to the Facebook comments, told our correspondent, “Sorry, I can’t fathom this. Which Kano Muslim residents said these? It is too vague. Quote somebody who has a name.
“The JNI has condemned the killing. The Sultan (of Sokoto) also condemned it. The Emir of Kano (Muhammad Sanusi) has always been on the side of dialogue. Let’s not look for non-existent residents. Those who matter have spoken. What we should all do at this point is to assist the police in ensuring that justice is done.”
Penultimate Saturday, President Muhammadu Buhari had promised that justice would be served in the case of the murdered Igbo trader.
Describing the incident as sad and regrettable, Buhari condoled with the husband of the deceased, Agbahime, the family and relations, praying that God would give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
The President had said, “The incident at the Kofar Wambai Market, Kano City, is utterly condemnable, and the state government has been quite proactive.
“Let us ensure that we keep the peace, as justice will be done. Let us learn to respect each other’s faith, so that we can know each other and live together in peace.”

Armsgate : Dasuki’s Loyalists Threaten To Release Videos Of Beneficiaries

By     No comments:
3829254_20160612084356

A new twist to the ongoing trial of the embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki may emerge in the days ahead as his loyalists at the weekend said they would soon release videos of personalities that benefitted from the controversial $2.1billion arms deal.
They said the release of the video is necessary to help properly situate facts regarding the deal stressing that some prominent Nigerians who collected huge sums from the arms money were now publicly denying doing so and even working surreptitiously for the continued incarceration of Dasuki.
Dasuki is currently being prosecuted for presiding over the sharing of $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of weapons to fight insurgency.
The money was allegedly shared among key political actors in the run up to the 2015 presidential election. Some notable politicians are being tried in courts for allegedly benefitting from the scam.
However, some loyalists of the embattled ex-NSA, miffed by what they called open backstabbing of their boss vowed that they would make public the video containing the identities of all the people that benefitted from arms money.
The loyalists who spoke in confidence submitted that they were shocked to watch some key beneficiaries of the huge sums openly denying Dasuki and working hard for his continued incarceration.
They blamed the non-release of Dasuki despite the bail granted him by three different courts on the secret activities of some unnamed individuals, who they said were now pretending to be angels after receiving huge amounts from the ex-NSA.
One of the loyalists said: “We have witnesses and recordings of these visits.
A man received two retired army officers in his private sitting room, called his nephew to collect the bag and would thereafter say he saw nothing, heard nothing. This is very laughable.
“How did his nephew who has never worked in his life accumulate over N850 million in his bank account in a new generation bank? Let them cover what they think they could, and we would certainly spill the beans for Nigerians to see their hypocrisy.
“All of us would meet in court. But before then, if they keep denying, we would release some clips on both YouTube and other forms of social media for the world to see their unclothedness.”
Another loyalist added: “We have now known the real reason the retired Col Sambo Dasuki is still being incarcerated even after three courts have granted him bail.
Certain influential persons might have influenced the administration to keep him behind bars under the pretext of corruption fighting back. The threat coming from some associates of the former NSA is real.
They are serious about their determination to release the recordings of his meetings with people, some of them now in government who denied that they ever received money during such meetings.”
Speaking on behalf of others, one of the loyalists claimed that he was aware of the trend of investigations and interrogations Dasuki has been made to undergo apparently at the instance of some powerful persons.
He disclosed that the former NSA has had everything screened including wristwatches, eyeglasses, buttons, pens, cufflinks, tie clips, rings and related objects.
On why they have not spoken all this while, he said that they had refrained from commenting because they had believed that the main trial would commence.
With the prolonged delay in the commencement of the trial, Dasuki’s loyalists believe this is the right time to release the damning records in their post session .

By     No comments:
Fashola-NL

The Minister of Power, Work and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, on Tuesday, expressed shock at the destruction of public properties by Nigerians who also yearn for better service from government.
Fashola expressed his frustration while speaking on Thursday at the Buharimeter town hall meter in Abuja.
The Minister also said the Ajaokuta steel plant is embroiled in legal suits hence government can do little at the moment.
“Yes, there is no power. But it does not mean there is no capacity to produce power. In February, we were able to meet 5,000 megawatts.”
“When you have an idea how extensive the pipeline network is and how they must pass through land.”
“I don’t know any country that wants to have electricity that destroys its electricity infrastructure.”
“People have even begun to remove bolts and nuts from tracks that had been laid for rail.”
“There will be a time when we can not rely on gas solely. We think that methods, planning and coordination will take us to the society we want to live in.”
“As far as security is concerned, there is a new wave of global criminality going on.
The existing security machinery put in place after the second world war takes care of conventional warfare. It’s a new global learning curve for everybody.”

New Deadly Gang Called “The Sweepers” Emerges In Kaduna,Terrorizes Residents

By     No comments:

rufai
The Kaduna State Police Command has stepped up security following attacks on the residents of the state by a new deadly group called “Yan Shara”.
The spokesperson of the command, Abubakar Zubair, stated this in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Saturday.
Yan Shara, which means “Sweepers” in Hausa Language, has carried out series of attacks on some residents of the state, using dangerous weapons like knives.
Its members, which comprise mostly young adults, now operate in major towns in Kaduna, including Tudun wada, Unguwan Rimi, Kakuri, Unguwan Dosa and Kawo.
Mr. Zubair said though the police were not aware of some of the attacks, the activities of the group had been put under control by the force.
He said, “The Kaduna police have all the information about the activities of the gang in some part of the state that include Tudun Wada and Rigasa area and have taken all the necessary steps to bring that to a stop. We never had any other report of such activities from groups like that in recent time.”
“The case of Unguwan Rimi and Unguwan Dosa are new to me now but the police will step up and find out what actually happened. The police are not taking it lightly with such activities of hoodlums in the state anymore.
A resident of Unguwan Dosa, Bello Sani, said he narrowly escaped being lynched last week when the group attacked him on his way from the mosque where he had gone to pray.
He said, “It happened after the last prayer of the day, Isha’a at Unguwan Dosa. I was going home from the mosque in Unguwan Dosa when I saw people running and coming my way.
“At first I thought it was a riot. Then one lady who was running overtook me and was shouting run! run! run! the sweepers are coming. I did not understand what she meant by sweepers until I saw some shops close to me closing down and also telling me to run.
“However, before I could run fast, one among them hit me with a big stick on my back. I was able to jump in to a house close to me forcing them to retreat.”
Describing the experience as “horrific,” Mr. Bello said he was very scared because he did not know about the group until last month a friend who lives in Tudun-Wada told hold him about it.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai had recently assured residents of the state of his administration’s resolve to ensure that the activities of the group were not only curtailed but also totally eradicated.

President Buhari “Cleared” To Return To Nigeria After Medical Trip To Uk

By     No comments:
Buhari-infected-ear

SaharaReporters has learned that doctors in the UK who examined President Muhammadu Buhari’s ear infection have cleared him to travel back to Nigeria next week.
A presidential source told our correspondent that Mr. Buhari was likely to leave London for Abuja next Thursday.
The source disclosed that the Nigerian president spent a day at a hospital in London where he underwent a series of tests to diagnose the nature of his ear ailment and a course of treatment. He declined to name the hospital where Mr. Buhari was seen.
According to the source, the doctors in the UK determined that President Buhari’s ear got infected after one of his doctors in Abuja “cleaned” his ear when he complained about a substantial loss of hearing from that particular ear.
The presidential source stated that a female Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) doctor treated the president.
He said Mr. Buhari’s ear was cleaned again, and antibiotics applied to it. After just two days in the UK, Mr. Buhari reportedly proclaimed that his ear was feeling fine, according to our source.
SaharaReporters learned that President Buhari has returned to the Nigerian diplomatic residence in London known as “Abuja House” where he intends to spend the rest of his time in the UK.
Another source in London disclosed that doctors in the UK had also prescribed a chest x-ray for Mr. Buhari to determine the cause of his persistent cough.
The source said he was not aware what the result of the x-ray was.
A source familiar with the goings-on in the UK told SaharaReporters that Mr. Buhari was expected to travel back to Abuja by next Thursday “if every goes well.”

Facebook To Delete Your Synced Photos By July 7th - Read Why

By     No comments:
Image result for facebook

Facebook has decided on quite the way to convince people to
download Moments : by threatening to delete thousands of photos if
they don't.
The notice has to do with a photo syncing feature that was recently
removed from Facebook's main mobile app. Starting in 2012, the
Main Facebook app was able to automatically upload photos from a
phone's local camera roll to a private album on Facebook. They
were kept there for storage, but also to make it easier to later share
them publicly on Facebook.

That syncing tool has now been moved out of the core Facebook
app and into the photo app Moments . Facebook made it clear that
this would happen — and in fact it happened months back,
seemingly without much pushback. What Facebook was less clear
about was what would happen to photos that had previously been
Synced.

At the time, Facebook mentioned that people would be given the
chance to download their pictures in a zip file if they didn't want to
move over to Moments. Now it's clear that offering is because
Facebook intends to completely delete synced photos if people
don't download this new app. (This only applies to auto-synced
photos; not photos a person has personally uploaded.
While Facebook is giving people plenty of time to make the jump
over to Moments, it's being pretty shameless here about what's
going on.

Now you can perhaps argue that anyone actively using Facebook's
auto sync will have already downloaded Moments.. .

Like the person
in the tweet above, it's entirely possible that Facebook will be
removing photos that people forgot or didn't realize were synced.
But it's still, to say the least, not the kindest of tactics to delete
photos when Facebook certainly has the resources to go on storing
them. It's a blatantly aggressive push to get people to download
Moments, which Facebook seems to be hoping will be its next big
app.

This isn't the first time Facebook has been aggressive about
moving people to another of its apps. Two years ago, it removed
Messenger from the core Facebook app, requiring people to
download Messenger's own app to keep using it on mobile. That
was an annoying shift for some, but maybe not on quite the same
level as what it's doing for Moments — it's not like Facebook would
delete your chat account.

You can check the link below for more information.
Anyone who's used Facebook's auto sync feature in the past has
until July 7th to download Moments or a zip file of their synced
photos. Otherwise, they're going to disappear.
To be on the safe side just download the moments app.

UNIBEN lecturers block student’s graduation for 3 years, say ‘too busy’ to compile records

By     No comments:

University of Benin student has been denied graduation for three years despite meeting all academic requirements, and his lecturers and examination officials say they have been too busy to compile his records.

Temidayo Awoyemi, 26, had eagerly hoped to fulfill his dreams after graduation from the school’s department of chemistry. He now has spent three years now after completing his studies, without graduation.

Officials in his department and faculty say they have had no time to process his records for the last two years.

The faculty checker, Professor Anthony Imiavan, in charge of scrutinizing students’ records, confirmed to Premium Times that the student had no case to keep him from graduating.

A spokesperson for the school told this newspaper the case was “strange”, and assured it would be resolved quickly.

Despite that assurance, the school has yet to act on the matter more than a month after.

Temidayo’s problem began in his final year when his department said his West African Senior Secondary School Certificate was not in its records. At least five other students in his class had the same problem.

After losing the 2012/13 school session to a six-month strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities, Temidayo hoped he would be quickly let go the next session once he provided a copy of the missing certificate.

He submitted the certificate to the chemistry department and began to wait for clearance since 2013/2014 session. Two years after, he is still waiting for the school to process his result for graduation.

The process of clearing him requires the approval of his course adviser, Wayne Omagamre, faculty checker, Professor Anthony Imiavan; the Head of Department, Professor James Okuo; and Dean, Professor Sunday Omosigho.
