Borno residents express doubt that Buhari will end Boko Haram activities by December

By     No comments:
Some residents of Borno state have expressed doubts that President Buhari will end Boko haram activities in the North East by December this year. In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, a resident of the state, Ma’aji Kolo, who is currently taking refuge in Maiduguri, said
“We love and supported Buhari, but we are getting confused because we hope and believe he has all it takes to end the Boko Haram madness, but today, we are more afraid that they might come back in full force to take over more towns and villages.
A lot of them have come into town, they are occupying Mobbar and Abadam local government areas. They are in Marte and Baga, soldiers are yet to engage them and are regrouping. We have complained through our leaders and nothing seems to be happening as to engaging them. We are afraid. For me personally, I don’t think end is in sight looking at the December deadline. The last time the military told us to go back that they have liberated the local government, we went back and that was when I lost two of my brothers, when the Boko Haram attacked Munguno. I still feel bad for believing in the military and taking that decision. Now, they are urging people to go back again, but our people who are trapped in the local governments are telling us that all is not well,” he said.

Khloe Kardashian – “I’ll Always Love Lamar Odom”

By     No comments:
kh

When asked about her relationship with NBA player, James Harden, the star said, “I mean, I don’t know. I’m dating, obviously. James,” “But I haven’t really spoken a lot about him. I’ve learned from experience you just never know what happens in life. I’ve chosen to keep things closer to my heart until I figure it out. I love hard, I love who I love, and I don’t make any qualms about it. And I can’t wait for that to happen. I think I was so open and honest about my relationship with Lamar — which I don’t regret for a second; it was the best time of my life. But because you can’t just show these wonderful things and then not show the other stuff — like ‘Oh! Lamar disappeared!’ I had to explain I was going through a divorce, and people appreciate that and relate to it,” she pauses. “And we also had a great love story, so I think people want to see that for me again.”
On where her relationship with James stood, Khloe replied saying, “Right now, at this moment — I can’t even tell you what’s going to happen in 30 minutes, which I’ve learned recently — but James and I are great, and we’re on a great page. As of this moment, he’s been very supportive. He and I are doing just fine.” If anything, the past few weeks have cemented her theory that with a relationship, less is more. “Not everyone needs to know everything about you — I know that sounds crazy coming from me. There’s already so much access to [my family], I wanted to keep a little percentage of my life just for me.”
In Khloé’s view, the assumption that their stalled divorce papers meant she and Odom were back on was shortsighted.
“There is so much more medically and emotionally that we have to go through in order to even think about anything romantically,” she said. “This is a very serious situation with a lot of layers. He has a long road ahead of him, and I will be there by his side. I will always love him unconditionally,” she said firmly. That will never waver coming from me. Khloe added.

Boko Haram: Reps Urge Nigerian Armed Forces To Settle Entitlements Of Deceased Personnel

By     No comments:
house-of-reps2

The House of Representatives during plenary on Tuesday called on the Nigerian Armed Forces to settle all outstanding entitlements and benefits of military personnel, who diNigeria has lost many of its servicemen and women in the ongoing battle against insurgency with many affected families yet to receive the benefits of the departed officers and soldiers.
The House stated its position, following a motion introduced by Johnson Agbonayinma (PDP-Edo State).
The lawmaker noted that “it is a standard practice for entitlements to be paid to the next of kin of any soldier who had died in the line of duty of protecting the integrity of the nation”.
He cited a case of a late sergeant, Moses Osarenkhoe, who lost his life defending the country against Boko Haram insurgents in Maiduguri.
Mr. Agbonayinma regretted that several months after the death of the heroes, no payment of entitlements had been made to their families, thereby leaving their spouses’ and children in desperate situations without any form of livelihood.
This unfortunate situation, Agbonayinma said, would dampen the morale and willingness of those serving in the military from serving their fatherland and willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice when the need arises.
The motion was unanimously adopted by the lawmakers, many of whom expressed displeasure over the poor treatment of the service personnel.
Nnenna Ukeje-Elendu (PDP-Abia State) said the deceased personnel did what “many of us could not do” and their families should not be neglected.
The House, therefore, called on the “Armed Forces and other relevant authorities to, as a matter of urgency, pay all entitlements/benefits of deceased personnel who died in active service”.
The lawmakers also asked the Armed Forces to establish a trust fund to cater for the education of children of deceased service personnel.
However, the resolution was not without a downside.
There was an amendment to the original prayer of Mr. Agbonayinma’s motion, which sought for inclusion of funds for the settlement of the deceased personnel’s entitlements in the 2016 budget.
The amendment was however, rejected by the lawmakers.ed in the line of duty, fighting Boko Haram insurgents.

PDP Warns Okorocha - Steer Clear Of Rivers State, Imo Shadow Of Its Glorious Past

By     No comments:
Rochas-Okorocha

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Wednesday, expressed shock at the statement credited to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State that Rivers and Akwa Ibom States are very strategic to the All Progressives Congress, even as it called on the governor to steer clear of the state.
Okorocha, who held a breakfast meeting with journalists in Owerri, the Imo State capital Tuesday, was quoted as saying “the electorate in the two states voted overwhelmingly for the APC but their votes were stolen by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, through various forms of electoral malpractices”.
Reacting to the comment by the APC Governors’ Forum chairman, the Rivers PDP chairman, Felix Obuah, in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, said “Governor Okorocha’s revelation is an eloquent collaboration of a similar recent pronouncement by the APC Chairman in the State, Davies Ikanya that the APC-led federal government cannot afford to lose Rivers State”.
According to the statement, “Governor Okorocha, who blew the lid off the bottle while addressing newsmen after the meeting of APC Governors, said the desperation of the party to take over the two South/South States is because they won the April 11, 2015 governorship elections in the two States but were robbed by the PDP.
“Even though Okorocha who has allegedly converted Imo State to a family estate did not explain how his APC intends to actualize the plot, the PDP State Chairman warned him and his fellow plotters to steer clear of the State as the Rivers people are prepared to resist any unlawful means to snatch the mandate given to Gov. Wike.
“Bro. Obuah advised the governor of crisis ridden Imo State to engage his time to solve the myriad of problems he has foisted on the Imo people that have turned the historic Sam Mbakwe nation to a mere shadow of its glorious past.
“To before warned is to be armed, the PDP State boss stressed, calling the whole world to take note of those to hold responsible for any eventual mayhem that may befall the State and defenceless Rivers people.
“Bro. Obuah however noted, that notwithstanding the evil plot of trampling on the laws of the land and the people’s rights to usurp power in Rivers State, Okorocha has unwittingly admitted in the first instance that governorship election afterall, took place in the State, a sharp contrast to the claim of the APC in the State and before the State governorship election petitions tribunal.
“Even though the Rivers people are more than ready to defend their mandate willingly and fairly given to Governor Nyesom Wike, the PDP State Chairman wants the entire Nigerians to take note of the grand plot to cause crisis in the polity and demand to know whether such witch-hunt, forceful usurpation of power and executive lawlessness are what the CHANGE mantra of President Buhari is all about”.
“While we place our trust in God and believe that the truth will prevail in the face of the unprecedented plot against the will of the people, we make bold to say that the Rivers people are waiting and cannot be intimidated”, Obuah declared.

Chelsea billionaire owner Abramovich reportedly rejects £35m bid from Monaco for Jose Mourinho

By     No comments:

The Portuguese is under immense pressure having lost over 60% of games played this season and is a target for the French principality club, but Abramovich has reportedly rejected a mammoth bid for his coach's services and wants Mourinho to stay on for a while despite the poor run.

The Ligue 1 side, largely bankrolled by businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev, offered to buy out the remainder of Mourinho's contract. However, Blues owner Abramovich has offered him support and has told Monaco's middlemen he won't sell Mourinho for that price, although it is believed Mourinho could be got if the fee is doubled to £71m.

According to Sportsmail, Alessandro Proto, a Chelsea shareholder claims he met Roman Abramovich in London in a bid to prise away Chelsea's beleaguered manager.

The Russian billionaire rejected the £35m offer on a day his manager insisted he would remain in London until 2019.

It represents a strong show of faith from Abramovich, who had been urged to dispense of Mourinho after six League defeats with the champions lying 15th.

A statement was released by Proto's company, Proto Enterprises, to a Spanish news agency stating the meeting had taken place in London earlier in the day.

Proto Enterprises confirmed its authenticity to Sportsmail on Tuesday night and alleged Abramovich could be interested in accepting should they double the offer to £71m.
