A young baby born without his skull in Florida recently celebrated his first birthday despite doctors saying he would die within days of birth.
Jaxon Emmett Buell, a true miracle baby was born with a rare brain malfunction called Microhydranencephaly, which left most of his skull and brain missing.Doctors gave him just days to live, yet Jaxon has defied all the odds and celebrated his first birthday on August 27.

News of the child's miraculous survival was read by hundreds of thousands after his first birthday in August, though some said that Brandon and his wife Brittany were 'selfish' or should have aborted the child to avoid the pain he will suffer.However, the father of the infant responded to the criticism in a heartfelt Facebook post Saturday night, saying his wife and his decision to keep their son was 'our choice, and only our choice'.
Brandon added that he and Brittany didn't want to 'play God'.
Microhydranencephaly is an extreme malformation of the brain. The condition causes the head to be smaller than normal and the scalp ridged.
